Disclaimer: I loved Breaking Bad, thought it one of the best shows ever created.
"Better Call Saul" is an entirely different show, though. It works on its own, and that is no small feat considering its heritage.
Much like "Breaking Bad" moved a little slow in the beginning, it takes time to sink into "Better Call Saul." I think the defining moment came for me this past week -- hence this review -- when we see Saul in a garbage dumpster salvaging shredded documents, telling another attorney he's "at the opera."
Saul has come into his own: if Walter White became a great anti-hero when he blew up Tuco's office with explosive "meth," Saul's become the great redeemer of every working day Joe attorney who gets attorney jokes.
There's something poignant and funny and heartbreaking in watching Saul's evolution, the everyday moral dilemmas he faces, to be a good guy and forgo the professional accolades, or to become the caricature of all the bad lawyer jokes.
Ironically, Saul chooses his humanity, and yet becomes the quintessential type for the jokes.
"Breaking Bad" dealt with timeless moral dilemmas, a modern Macbeth for the small screen; "Better Call Saul" proves more compelling in its subtlety, irony, and pathos. Rather than being hit over the head with mortality's moral dilemmas, we see Saul dealing with the banality of mediocrity, and trying to overcome it.
There's no Shakespearean grandiosity here: rather, this is a modern moral literary tale, subtle, and without any answers.
If the show continues with this level of writing, acting, and production, it will become a classic in television history.

I did not sense the actors were into this movie as the first one. Definitely has a lot of action throughout, but I loved the first one better. For fans of the Avengers, must watch of course but for those that are not that big of a comic junkie will not a be a big deal if you miss it.

Russell Crowe plays a man who's wife is convicted of a murder he's convinced she didn't commit. After she tries to kill herself, he decides to break her out of jail. Although the movie felt somewhat slow for a portion of it, ultimately I have to say that I enjoyed it, and can highly recommend it. Here's why:
1. It's a smart movie. It makes you think, and you're not told every last detail up front. In fact, you don't even know if the wife was innocent of murder or not for most of the movie. You're led through the story with pieces to the puzzle, and by the end it all comes together. It was really interesting.
2. It was not predictable. I found myself constantly evaluating what was happening, and trying to figure out what would come next. When you think you know what's coming, you realize you don't. It had some interesting turns and twists.
Although it started out slow, I think the way it progressed was important for the development of the characters and the story. It was, in my opinion, a good decision to develop the story this way, and worth sitting through.
3. It challenges your values. I had to keep wondering if I thought Crowe's character was doing right or not, and I found I kept evaluating whether I wanted him to succeed. Was he a desperate man who was forced to become a hero? Or was he a man who has gone over the edge into darkness? It certainly makes you think.
4. The acting was amazing, as you'd expect from Crowe. We think he's one of the very best actors of our time. Elizabeth Banks played the wife, and she was so believable. I was surprised that Liam Neeson had such a very tiny role, and Brian Dennehy, a powerful actor, barely said anything. Still, their presence in the film added to it.
5. There was some good action. Not a ton of it though, but enough to keep your adrenaline rushing once in a while. The last portion was edge of your seat exciting.
Ultimately I'd say this is a very satisfying movie experience. It's different, not a formula, and by the end you're on the edge of your seat

Just when I thought the Walking Dead would slow down it sped up from the first episode of Season 5. Not only did it speed up but it goes from 0 to 120 mph in a few seconds. This is one of the few shows that gets better as we move on in the seasons. The writers are very creative and always intrigue you with the characters. This Blu-Ray has just one disc dedicated to featurettes and believe me their are tons for the fanatics of the show. This show has everything you want, drama, action, suspense, and of course horror. Get it now!

This is a review of the Scooby Doo 1&2 Collection on Blu-ray. They are both widescreen movies and look great. I was in middle school when Scooby Doo was first released in theaters, so I'm heavily biased when I say that the 1st movie is awesome. If you like these two movies even a little and own a blu-ray player, you definitely MUST buy this collection. The picture quality is great and this movie is shot very well with colors that pop. It looks really great on my flat screen. Sound is also great. I think this is a well done blu-ray of these two classic movies. And CGI Scooby looks very nice in HD. Yes, its all in high definition.
The only con I can think of is that the bonus features of the 1st movie was obviously shot in full screen but stretched to widescreen for the blu-ray, and I have yet to figure out how to squeeze it back to the normal aspect ratio.
Overall, I highly recommend this product. These movies are very well made (well at least the 1st one was) and a joy to watch. The 1st movie also comes with cast and filmmaker commentaries, which are delightful to listen to as well.

A very unique horror movie..

We are all used to the same old slasher horror movie these days. Victim runs and eventually gets killed. In this movie I was surprised that I was actually scared for the victim because I did not know what was actually following her. I like that we find out how something is following our female star of the movie but we never find out why or what is following. Nevertheless, the movie kept me in suspense throughout and I was very entertained. I would not say I was very scared, but it did have it's scary moments. I would definitely recommend this movie because it keeps your attention and definitely is unique and provides some creepy moments.

I read a lot of reviews before seeing this movie saying that it would be unique. I definitely got that, but half way I found myself a little bored. Saying that, it was still entertaining enough to have me watch the whole movie and I was very surprised in the end. Some sci fi movie lovers will love the movie because it is very unique and different from other sci fi movies these days.

Exaggerated Action movie, but still fun...

It is a predictable movie about the White House being taken over by former Special Forces soldiers that left the military disgruntled. Saying this, it did have some funny parts and the action was good, just way too over the top sometimes. I think Olympus was Fallen was a lot more realistic and better than this one, but its worth a watch if you're bored on a rainy day.

When I was a kid, TMNT cartoons were the best. Then the first live action movie came out and it was like magic. Of course, now that you see the old one it is not as good, but it is still better than this movie thanks to Michael Bay. Just don't like the CGI on the turtles, they look horrible. Some funny parts that kids will enjoy, but not for the old TMNT fans. Plot is horrible. Nope, not for me.
