As with most sequels, Wayne's World 2 can't live up to its predecessor. In this case, the disc is the same story. Not that it's a bad DVD, it's just not quite as good as the first Wayne's World disc. On the plus side, the 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer is nicely presented. It looks natural and doesn't show any irritating flaws. The sound, which uses a remastered English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, sounds just fine, but hardly takes advantage of the wide range available. This disc also features English and French surround tracks. As with the first disc, this one also features a commentary track from its director, Stephen Surjik. Surjik isn't quite as animated or enthusiastic as Penelope Spheeris though, and there are a number of silent gaps breaking the track. He does have interesting comments to make, and it certainly is worth listening to. In addition, this disc also features more interviews with the cast and crew. What is sadly missing is the theatrical trailer. Overall, this is a nice package, probably better treatment than expected.

So-So sequel

This follow-up film is funny, I will say that, but it pales in comparison to the first Waynes World film.
The main reason to watch this film is to get a few laughs and behold the chemistry of the actors, which is the best part of both films.
What's great about it: Still funny
What's not so great: Not as funny as pt. 1

So-So show
on July 17, 2008

This show aired on the WB, which should tell you something and of course was cancelled in it's first season.
It wasn't all bad though, Ashley Scott was very good in her role as The Huntress and Dina Meyer does a good job as Oracle.
The best acting part goes to Mia Sara as Dr. Harleen Quinzel.
The show should have had a chance to wrap up some plot lines and go a little further.
The DVD set would play great for a lazy weekend watching.
What's great about it: Sexy, cool villains
What's not so great: Everything else?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK film to go along with Get Smart
on July 14, 2008

This film goes along with the new movie Get Smart, even incorperating elements from that movie into this one, like when the HQ gets bombed. Anne Hathaway and Terry Crews even put in cameos, but they feel like deleted scenes from Get Smart thrown into this one.
The best part of the movie is the chemistry between Masi Oka and Nate Torrence, which is really good. For that reason alone I would like to see another Bruce and Lloyd movie.
On the bad side, the movie is very predictible and can be a little blah sometimes.
The gadgets are cool though.
What's great about it: Good companion film, good chemistry
What's not so great: Very predictible

Season 4 of the acclaimed mockumentary opens with the discovery that Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak) has ascended the corporate ladder from fresh-faced intern to stylishly bearded corporate chieftain. The young gun promptly exercises his authority by charging Dunder Mifflin into the digital age, an affront to technologically dull Scranton branch boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell). Here are the romantic "fax" of life at the office: Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) are hot, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey) are not, and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) and Angela are giving it a shot. A giddy Jam (Jim/Pam) proudly bring their hushed and long-delayed romance to public light, even spending an unsettling night at the Schrute family farm. Dwight confesses to killing Angela's treasured cat Sprinkles, prompting Angela to terminate their romance, which leaves tight Dwight heartbroken and miserable. Angela, in turn, falls into the arms of newest staffer Andy, but only reluctantly. As for Michael, he huffs and puffs through a 5K fun run; hopes to attend a Web-site launch party in the Big Apple; faces a ballooning personal debt; goes on a wilderness survival retreat; butts heads with desk jockey Stanley Hudson (Leslie David Baker); and travels a bumpy-road romance with high-maintenance ex-bigwig Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin), who's mired in a messy wrongful-termination lawsuit with corporate. All this doesn't stop Michael from obsessing over a model in an office-supply catalog or clubbing for "hot hotties" with Ryan in New York. As the year winds down, slumping human-resources drone Toby Flenderson (Paul Lieberstein) decides to quit his post and move to Costa Rica. This development prompts the arrival of a new HR worker named Holly (Amy Ryan), whose sunny presence clearly begins to brighten Michael's downcast world.

Best show on television
on July 13, 2008

The fourth season of the funniest (and best) show currently on television, The Office is a great buy for any comedy fan.
The acting is great, especially from Steve Carell and a one episode stint by Amy Ryan, who turns out to be an excellent addition to the cast as the new HR person.
The writing is top notch, with some episodes running an hour long, which is good because the total number of episodes was cut short by the writers strike. So we get a lot of Office time wise, not episode-wise.
Best episodes are "Fun Run", "Local Ad" (Which is heart warming as well) and "Goodbye, Toby."
What's great about it: Funny, romantic
What's not so great: Total episodes cut short by strike

Great fun, little movie

First off, so far this is my favorite movie of 2008. It is funny, has lots of action, great acting (especially from Colin! Who knew!?), good effects and leaves you wanting more.
There is a lot of dark humor, the kind were you laugh then kind of feel bad for laughing. Lots of blood too.
If that stuff doesn't bother you, then you'll love this movie.
What's great about it: Funny, lots of action
What's not so great: May be a little dark for some

The world's greatest superheroes (including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern, and The Flash) team up to fight evil in this collection of episodes from the hit Cartoon Network television series Justice League Unlimited. Justice League Unlimited: Saving the World includes the episodes "Initiation," in which the Green Arrow joins the Justice League just as they set out to battle a radioactive beast in China; "Kid Stuff," in which the League members must impersonate children to infiltrate a planet where adulthood is outlawed; and "Hawk and Dove," in which Wonder Woman tries to bring peace to a world with the help of two brothers -- one of whom does not in his heart want war to end.

Great show

Now this is the Justice League!
The episodes contained in the set are great, especially "Initiation" which shows the expansion of the league through the eyes of Green Arrow (who's great!).
"Kid Stuff" is also very enjoyable.
The voice acting is top notch and so is the animation.
For the price, you should really pick it up. It's a steal.
What's great about it: Near perfection

So-So take on the League
on July 9, 2008

from Riverside, CA
Based off a popular graphic novel, this version of the Justice League takes place in the 1950s. The animation, i'm sure, is somewhat meant to reflect that... and it takes a little getting used to especially Batman and Martian Manhunter.
The story does drag, a lot. There is like 95% Hal Jordan and then right at the very end 5% Green Lantern. If this was a Green Lantern movie then I would accept this as an origin story, not a group film.
The voice acting is great from Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman to Neil Patrick Harris as the Flash.
If you can get this cheap, then go for it. It is worth at least a late night watch. Then go buy Justice League: Unlimited.
What's great about it: Good voice acting
What's not so great: Story drags, animation spotty

Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker comes to DVD with a standard full-frame transfer. The closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include deleted footage, a making-of featurette concerning the development of the animation, a music video, and a trailer. Those with access to a DVD-ROM drive will be able to take a look at even more bonus materials. This disc will please fans of the series, and may actually win the show some new converts.

One of the best Batman movies
on July 7, 2008

Even though this takes place in the Batman Beyond world (can't hold it against them...) this is one of the best Batman movies, yes much better than Batman and Robin.
It is also somewhat disturbing and the perfect example of what the Joker truly is... a homicidal maniac.
The story is great and has a good twist that I didn't see coming.
Adults shouldn't waste their time on the cut up version, this one is MUCH better. Although, maybe the kiddies should stick with the cut up one.
A must-own, works well with getting to know the Joker with The Dark Knight coming out.
What's great about it: Great story, action, Joker

The first season of this sleek spy series mixes plenty of action with sex appeal and a dose of wry humor. While on a covert mission in Nigeria, spy Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) discovers he's been burned, which equates to being fired in the world of espionage. After escaping the immediate danger of his assignment, he wakes up in Miami with no memory of how he got there and discovers his accounts have been frozen and his contacts cut off. Forced to fend for himself, Michael recruits the help of the only friends he has: Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell), a former intelligence contact whom the FBI has tapped to gain intel on Michael; Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), a spunky ex-IRA operative looking for closure after being dumped by Michael several years earlier; and Michael's meddling mother Madeline (Sharon Gless), who's thrilled to have her son back in her life. Despite the often uneasy state of these alliances, Sam, Fiona and Madeline each bring their own skills to the table to help Michael find out who burned him and why. In order to fund his investigation-not to mention more mundane expenses like rent-Michael picks up a side job as a private investigator helping Miami citizens obtain justice. Each episode chronicles a different case, opening the way for notable guest stars like Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) and Richard Schiff (West Wing). But Michael's main goal throughout the season is following the convoluted trail of betrayals and double-dealings that led to his burn notice.

Smokin' hot show

Burn Notice is another hit from the USA Network, which seems to have the Midas touch lately with great shows.
Jeffery Donovan stars as a US spy that has a "burn notice" put on him, basically fired, and is stuck in Miami doing odd jobs (using his spy talents and quirky friends.).
The acting is top notch, especially with cult favorite Bruce Campbell, playing the best friend.
There is a lot of action mixed with enough comedy and romance to fill out each hour but not going overboard as some shows do.
This is a must buy for any television fan, especially before the next season starts.
What's great about it: Funny, lots of action, great chemistry

Weezer: Video Capture Device - Treasures From the Vault 1991-2002 contains every one of Weezer's music videos from that time period (including the classic Spike Jonze directed clips for "The Sweater Song," and "Buddy Holly"). Also included are never-before-released videos, live footage from the beginning of the band's career, acoustic performances, and footage of the band at work in the studio.

A MUST have for Weezer fans

"Video Capture Device" captures the video history of Weezer through live clips and their music videos.
The early clips of the band are great to see and very funny.
It is also a great way to have all of the band's music videos handy to watch, even the two versions of "Island in the Sun."
What's great about it: Great selection of videos and clips
