Good show for bored people

Life is about a police officer who is framed for a murder and locked away for many years until it is proven that he didn't do it. He then rejoins the police force and sets about solving crimes.
The show is good, from the cases to the characters. The premise is unique and the main character often uses his experiences from being in prision to help solve cases. But, he is also into the zen stuff and it comes up A LOT. It almost gets a little too annoying.
The show is good to buy for those who love cop shows with a twist.
What's great about it: Good cases, good characters
What's not so great: Too much Zen talk

Fond memories

Now this reminds me of when I was a kid.
I loved super heroes and these cartoons were awesome! Sure, they don't hold up that well today, but people will buy this for the memories and the fun they had watching them as kids.
All the heroes are represented well and each gets their chance to shine.
Worth the price to pick up and watch on a lazy weekend.
What's great about it: Great old school animation
What's not so great: A little silly nowadays

Good travel show

This show is sort of a hybrid cooking/travel show which walks a fine balance of both.
He goes to many great places and talks to very interesting people, and gets to try a lot of food.
The food is the main selling point of the show, with the gross stuff making for the best television. Would you rather watch a segment on a good hamburger or the reproductive organs of an animal... wait... nevermind.
For a good price this is a good pick up for those who love travel and food. This show helped me identify Octopus Balls on a recent trip to Tokyo and that I should avoid them at all costs!
What's great about it: Funny, great locales

This game is really, really fun. It takes up a lot of time, but since it's fun you don't realize how long you have been playing it.
It is very addicting, you'll be very sleepy telling yourself "OK, just one more game..."
Good for all ages and is also a good exercise to keep your brain going.
What's great about it: Addicting, fun
What's not so great: Addicting

Good TV show

Don Johnson's return to TV with Cheech Marin of all people!
But, it works! The show is funny and has a little action to keep you occupied for the hour. Created by Carlton Cuse, who is now the executive producer on Lost, the show is written well.
Don and Cheech are a great team and have a natural chemistry that makes the show even better.
What's great about it: Funny, some action

During his fourth season, the dyspeptic medical detective (Hugh Laurie) is consumed by his search for a new team of associates to replace Foreman and Cameron (Omar Epps, Jennifer Morrison), who quit on him, and Chase (Jesse Spencer), whom he fired. The winnowing process begins with an unmanageable 40 applicants, so House gives them numbers and behaves like Simon Cowell, MD: firing people arbitrarily (by where they are sitting, at one point) and ordering others to wash his car. Eventually, he narrows the field to Jeffrey Cole (Edi Gathegi), Amber Volakis (Anne Dudek), Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson), Lawrence Kutner (Kal Penn) and "Thirteen" (Olivia Wilde). He also hires a CIA doctor (Michael Michele) who doesn't want the job---only to fire her when she reconsiders. House dismisses Cole and Volakis (also known as "cutthroat bitch") as well, but she doesn't go away. Instead, she starts a relationship with Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard). Meanwhile, House's sexually tense love-hate relationship with Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) intensifies, and Foreman, Cameron and Chase all return to Princeton/Plainsboro, although only Foreman returns to House's team. And through it all, House continues to perform his unique brand of medicine. In one episode, he diagnoses a psychiatrist (Mira Sorvino) who is stranded in an Antarctic research station via Webcam. And in another he kidnaps an unbelieving soap star (Jason Lewis) after noticing disturbing symptoms while watching him on television.

So-so start ends with a bang!

Finally a show that wasn't hurt by the Writer's Strike!
This season saw the introduction to new members of House's team, which meant that Chase and Cameron had less time on the show. Some might like the infusion of new blood or hate that their favorite character is hardly seen.
Some of the episodes are just so-so, but some like "Frozen" are top notch.
The entire season, and a giant reason to buy this, is the two-part finale which is not only one of the best House episodes ever, but might be one of the best television episodes ever... period.
The acting alone in the episode is amazing and mind boggling why some of the supporting actors did not get nominated.
A for sure buy!
What's great about it: Good writing, chemistry, cases
What's not so great: Starts slow

End of the road for Vegas
on July 30, 2008

The final season of "Las Vegas" suffered from the Writer's Strike and the huge loss of James Caan, but got Tom Selleck. But it was too late to do anything about it.
The show is really pretty to look at, but started to fall into the "same old, same old" formula. Even got the "Is the boss guilty of a crime" thing again.
Also the subplot of Danny and Delinda's upcoming baby was kind of blah.
Ends apruptly, so fair warning.
What's great about it: Lots to look at
What's not so great: Not much to remember

GREAT, fun movie
on July 27, 2008

It took me a while to finally see this movie, like 2 years, and now I am kicking myself for not seeing it in the theaters.
This is a great, great movie. The script is fantastic and the actors are beyond that, everyone talks about how Iron Man in Robert Downey Jr.'s comeback or breakthrough performance, well, this tops even that. He is beyond good. So is Val Kilmer, and the two have great chemistry together.
There is lots of action and enough funny moments to keep you entertained all throughout.
What's great about it: Funny, lots of action
What's not so great: Might be too much for some

Good romantic comedy
on July 23, 2008

from Riverside, CA
The King and Queen of romantic comedies Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore team up for this funny take on the music industry.
Hugh and Drew have great chemistry and they are really good together, probably better than her and Adam Sandler.
The script is good, Hugh gets the best lines that either make you smile or laugh out loud.
The buying point for this movie is the music, from the 80s pop to current love ballads the music is the best part of this movie and a great reason to pick this DVD up.
What's great about it: Funny, good music
What's not so great: Little predictible

In Season 2 of the superhero saga, the nascent heroes learn more about their similarly superpowered families and ancestors. Indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) and her family are forced to go into hiding in California in order to escape the clutches of the Company, an organization that tracks and captures superheroes. While her father, Noah (Jack Coleman), a former employee of the Company, insists she not do anything to attract attention, Claire finds herself attracted to a fellow student (Nicholas D'Agosto) with a superpowered secret of his own. After barely managing to avert a nuclear explosion in Season 1's finale, Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) is presumed dead by his grieving family, only to awaken in Ireland with no idea who he is or how he got there. Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) accidentally time travels to 17th-century feudal Japan, where he encounters his childhood hero, the legendary swordsman Takezo Kensei. But Hiro's joy is short-lived: He discovers that not only is Kensei a white foreigner (David Anders) living in Japan, but he's also a drunken coward who needs Hiro's help in order to achieve his destiny. Hiro eventually returns to the present and learns his father (George Takei) has been killed, the first in a series of murders of superheroes who had been active a generation ago. As the murders continue, it becomes clear that this killing spree is an act of revenge connected to a deadly virus that could spell disaster for humanity. In addition to this threat, the heroes must also deal with the return of superpowered serial killer Sylar (Zachary Quinto) and the arrival of a new villain (Kristen Bell), a mentally unstable agent of the Company with the ability to control lightning and electricity.

Sophmore slump

Heroes season 1 was a smash hit with everyone. It was a breath of fresh air and a new show for everyone to get addicted to.
Season 2? Not so much. The main problem is the Writer's Strike killed this season. All the storylines were rushed and thrown together or took too long (Hiro in Japan).
There are some good moments, lots of good Sylar action and Elle the electric girl.
But the bad moments far outweigh the good.
What's great about it: Great characters
What's not so great: Some bad writing, Writer's Strike killed the season
