Anthony Hopkins is quite good in the role of master manipulator and Ryan Gosling on the prosecution side fences with him artfully. The lure of a heavyweight law firm flavors the plot and Rosamond Pike adds beauty and a romantic attachment.
This 1982 SciFi gem ages very well and features not only Harrison Ford but Rutger Hauer, one of great screen villains. It's a film about science fantasy that does not make silly plot features but employs real possibilities.
The acting here is 1st rate with Carrie Ann Moss, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore and Terrence Stamp [notorious of Billy Budd years ago] all doing well. The Martian landscape is also well depicted. Shortcomings: Just 2, dated technology and a somewhat hokey bug population on Mars.
Good movie re planet of most interest in solar system. Competent acting by all and with well done realistic Martian landscape. Excellent minor role by Sean Bean.
Entertaining movie with a decent storyline. Any movie featuring Rachel McAdams and Emma Stone has some merit from purely that standpoint. Marvelous cinematography.

Having read the book upon which the series was based I can attest to the general accuracy of the series. This 10 part story of the war in the Pacific and the men who fought it is extremely well done. There are no "name" stars but the acting is quite good and the story is well tied together and flows.
Keira Knightly plays Anna Karenina in this flick and does it creditably but not superbly. While she is a fine actress the role, in my opinion, required someone with more emotion for the role in keeping with the magnificent novel. It is still a fine movie but slightly flawed.
Now somewhat older [2001[ but still a sterling depiction of the tumultuous life of the the renowned economist John Nash. Russell Crowe is brilliant and ably abetted by veterans Jennifer Connolly and Ed Harris with an excellent role by the emerging Paul Bettany.
While Taken was an outstanding thriller and was closely matched in interest, excitement and compelling by the 2nd, the 3rd in the series may signal the end of the run as it is good but not up to the standard set by the 1st two.
