Though the ending nearly "jumps the shark," the acting throughout (especially by John Goodman) makes this thriller tense and exciting. Well worth watching.
This movie revolutionized stop-motion animation, and this Blu-Ray release captures Burton's aesthetic beautifully. Some of the special fetaures from the original DVD are missing, but the hi-def transfer is definitely worth watching.
Though the story has the typical Harry Potter whimsy, the visual effects and production design really steal the show here. This is a fun movie all around, and well worth watching.
Having watched this after it won Best Picture at the Oscars, I guess I was expecting more. Still, this is a very well-written and well-acted film. It is important to tell the stories of our most marginalized citizens, and I am glad that a movie doing just that got so much attention and acclaim.
I was not as immediately taken with this album as I was with either + or X, but it definitely has some catchy songs. It is still growing on me, but I enjoy listening to anything Sheeran sings.
The acting, writing, score, and cinematography are all excellent. Affleck and Williams are both deserving of awards for their acting here. This film is by no means uplifting, but it is powerful and an emotionally-rewarding experience. Definitely deserving of the Oscar buzz and well worth watching.
