May be difficult for some to watch because of the raw storytelling this film presents to the viewer. It is a disturbing look into the Mexican drug war, how ordinary citizens are affected, the high price that sometimes must be paid to protect a family member from illegal drug trafficking, and retribution. The filmmakers rely less on dialog and more on the movements and silent expressions of the actors to tell the story. The deliberately slow pacing drew me into the lives of the characters, living south of the border in a small Mexican town. People who don't have many of the things people north of the border take for granted. Yet they make the most of what they have to live with dignity and plans for a better life. Tragic with a bittersweet ending. This DVD also contains a 45 minute behind the scenes documentary with interviews of the lead actors. At the close of the documentary is a comment by the youngest lead actor which sums up the importance of films such as this one.

This compilation does not deserve the title "Motown Legends". Stevie Wonder is a legend in his own right and evidence of that can be found in numerous compilations that are much better.

Whether he is singing original songs, covers of standards or pop music, Stevie does it well. The great producing and arranging teams, studio musicians, and recording engineers of Motown guaranteed great sound on each track. Each tune on this re-release is still a joy to hear even after forty-five years.

Uptempo or ballad, Eloise' voice is pleasant, delicate, with a light touch of honey that gently flows and is easy to digest. A delicious treat for my hearing. How could she miss with her elegant singing, songwriting by Linda Creed, arranging by Gene Page, and a who's who list of studio muscians. She didn't miss, but many record buyers in 1977 did miss out. To the good fortune of my ears I picked up on her because of her famous brothers, one of which plays short solos on tracks 1, 7, and 9. Over the years I lost track of my original vinyl copy. I was glad to find it available on CD. Eloise' pose on the album cover expresses the way I feel after listening to her sing - Uplifted!

Superb songwriting, production, musical arrangements, studio musicians, and singing rivaling the male vocal groups coming out of Detroit, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Memphis. In an already over crowded field such as it was in the mid 1970's many great vocal groups, both male and female, were overlooked and just outright missed by record buyers at that time. The Modulations is one of those groups. Together with an exceptional songwriting and producing team, this group gave the record buying public soul music of a high caliber with a sophisticated southern flavor. Although the studio musicians, music arrangers, recording studio, or recording engineers are not mentioned on the inner sleeve, I still wonder if it may have been Detroit or Philadephia or Chicago or Memphis?!

I have been a fan of Brazilian Music since the first time I saw "Black Orpheus" (1959) as an eight year old child. As time went on and I began working as a teenager, was able to buy records, I became a Motown FANatic! But when Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 burst onto the music scene my love of Brazilian Music was rekindled. During that time Motown, TSOP, STAX and others produced much of the music I listened to and bought. In that era my exploration of Brazilian Music was limited to Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 and Milton Nascimento. Since the beginning of the new century I have expanded my Brazilian Music horizon to include Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Seu Jorge, numerous compilations, and now Luiz Bonfa. Refreshing, pure, honest, intimate, personal, and soothing is how I describe the sound of Luiz Bonfa.

A story about illegal drug trafficking in Asia and the battle to stop it. One of many battles in a world war that affects us all. Suspense, great action sequences, stunning location filming, and precision editing make this movie a visual feast.

Much has changed for the better but somethings have changed for the worse because much has remained the same. Difficult to watch emotionless. Digs deep into black and white issues of the past and present. Raw and cuts deep. A look at reality which causes an uncomfortable feeling and deeper thought as to why and hopefully ways to make it better.

Uninteresting rehash of previous movie plot with a few changes to make it look like new. The purple wonder should have stop with his first movie which has proven itself to be a classic. What followed Graffiti Bridge is not much better.
