I purchased this to replace a cheaper model stand fan that had finally broken. While the fan is extremely quiet and I like the remote control ease of operation, the fan does not point higher than just level and the weight of the fan sometimes causes the unit to fall pointing downwards.

I was a little insecure about buying a portable but am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. The first time using my new Dyson it was picking up dirt my upright vacuum had left behind. Got a great deal through the "Daily Deal". Only $199.00!
I had read several negative reviews but they all seemed to be by people that never read the manual or followed the instructions. I made sure to thoroughly clean the mixing bowl prior to using it the first time. Also made the needed adjustment as the factory setting was a little off. There are great videos on You Tube showing how to make the corrections and how to clean the bowls. Only mistake I made was turning the speed too high when adding flour. Be careful to just use the lowest setting. Have purchased a mixing shield and am waiting for its arrival to further prevent any splashing ingredients. I did have a small problem while mixing a batch of oatmeal cookies. I think the motor got too hot and wouldn't start? I gave it a minute, then it worked fine again.
