I was happy to find this 10 inch EP. I believe Brown died young so I decided to check this out. Art Blakey on drums and a couple members of Modern Jazz Quartet. This is in mono which sounds excellent.
This was recorded around the time of Juju and has a similar sound although Elvin Jones (drummer) is the only other player on both albums. It is hard to choose between these two albums so you might want to purchase both.

Gregory Porter is a very talented singer/songwriter. When I bought this vinyl I did not realize that it was a double album. With his voice I would have been satisfied paying this price for a single LP! I am twice as happy now. Many standout songs here...including "No Love Dying", "Musical Genocide", and "Brown Grass."
Excellent Monk recording. This is a 10 inch EP which has approximately 25 minutes of music. While it is not as long as a regular 12 inch LP, it is nice to be able to put on a shorter record if you do not want to invest more time to listen. I love the 10 inch EP reissues.
If you like Dexter then you will love this one. It is very accessible even for people new to jazz. It is the hard Bop vein and was recorded in Paris. Though Rudy Van Gelder did not engineer this one, it is up to the Blue Note standard.
