A laptop with all the features I always wanted

This is a very well thought out, user designed oriented laptop. It has everything I was looking for, either for my work or my personal stuff. I love the fact that it has several ports, 2 USB C, 2 USB A, HDMI, Ethernet, audio 3.5mm, even the SD Card Reader, that I use a lot, without scarifying its slim design. I have got the black color which looks very elegant and feels very strong and high quality. The top cover is metal with soft touch paint and fingerprint magnet, the rest (Bottom and surface keyb ) is plastic. The way it has been built reminds me the times when IBM used to make good laptops, like the Thinkpad T series years ago. It comes with a powerful processor that while I am writing this review I haven’t seen yet on any other laptop, Intel 13th gen Core I9. This in combination with the 6GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and the OLED Screen make this laptop really fast performance for whatever task I have done so far.
I found out that the design is based on the VIVObook platform, but has its own ID, however you will see the VIVObook legend on the HW description in the Windows 11 Home.

The laptop came with the Power Supply and the Power Cord. No cable adapters of any kind because it has all the ports you need included, which is a relief because I don’t need to carry with me anymore the SD Car reader adapter or the USB C to USB A adapter when I travel, which was annoying, or external Ethernet adapter
Mine came with 16Gb of MEM and 1TB SSD Drive, which is enough for my needs. Super Fast, the real viewable screen size is 15.6”. The specs states that the Battery capacity can reach the 12 working hours. So far I was using it for 4 hours browsing the Internet, watching Youtube videos, emailing and the MS Windows Batt Indicator shows 50% left, so I assume it has the intelligence to dynamically save power while approaching the minimum point, however I think those 12 hours of battery might be measure by light usage.
I like that the Camera is on top, more coverage angle, my old laptop have it at the keyboard level, something that I don’t like. The Sound is terrific, turn out that it comes with the Harman Kardon quad Speaker, with Dolby Atmos for multidimensional Sound and the Webcam and Microphone offers Noise Canceling feature. For my zoom meetings this laptop is great, clear video, audio, communication is flawless and no lags of any kind, either video or audio. It comes with a privacy cover, which is very handy.
I have seen a couple of movies, either streaming and using an external DVD-Rom, and the quality video is amazing, is a real 120hz, if feels like you can touch the images you are seeing, OLED is definitely the way to go and should be an standard on any laptop nowadays, and I am glad ASUS is including this feature in its products. The sound is very pleasant as well.
It has a quick boot up, most likely because of the hdd ssd, the Windows 11 and that this particular design is set up to minimize he HW check or speed up the boot. Set up is really simple and quick, after powering on, it will ask for the usual stuff, like Country, Keyboard setting, Wifi network. When I have set up my previous laptops I have created a Local user, but because this is the 11 Home version, it will require you to enter your MS either Hotmail or Outlook ID or create one. However once you finished, just type control and select User Accounts, create a local account, boot with the local account with admin privileges and delete the other one. Finally it will ask for setting fingerprint, and a PIN #.
After working for hours you can hear the fans turning on but it is not something that bother or very noticeable. It doesn’t get hot as well. The keyboard has well distributed keys with the right size, with backlit and the numpad. The touchpad works really well, sensitive and fast response.
This is an amazing laptop for the price, the features and the powerful specs, that I still don’t see yet on other brands in the market. I am very pleased with it.

Affordable with Great Noise Cancellation & Sound

For the sound quality, functionality, support and efficiency, these headphones are unbeatable. I wish it came with a case, but for the price, I cannot complain. I was able to find a third party case that fits really well. The noise cancellation function is way better than my previous headphone, very comfy and the sound is great as usual coming from Sony. A long lasting Battery and Multipoint connection that allows you to connect two BT devices to the Headphones, and will switch the audio with the source that is streaming the music. Once you stop one it will activate on the other, this feature can be enabled through the “Sony Headphones Connect” app, which is a wonderful tool that will keep you entertained for a while with all the settings, equalizer, 360, firmware updates, etc.
My perception is that these headphones were designed to keep a simple concept with high performance, very affordable without sacrificing sound quality, and even improving many other features like the Noise canceling functionality vs its predecessors.
Setup is pleasantly simple, mine came with enough Battery charge so I was able to start testing these headphones in “raw” mode, I mean without installing the Sony app, and check the sound without having any sound effect coming from the app settings. I tested with my Samsung Galaxy and Iphone 12, on both I used the same procedure, I went to the BT Setup of the phone, and on the Headphones pressed the Power button that is located on the right side and kept it pressed until the BT blue light started to blink. Then on the Cell phone BT setup the headphones should list as WH-CH720N, and that is all.
This set comes with a short USB-C To USB A cable for Batt Charge, a 3.5mm audio cable for wired audio connection, and a reference guide. The Ref Guide is very condensed, however if you go to the QR it will take you to a full detail website with more in depth detail instructions.
The sound is great, the bass (one of the things that I pay a lot of attention because that is my first point of check) is powerful, well defined, clean, punchy, hit the lows without any distortion even at high volume. Treble frequencies and vocals are well balanced, pleasant and not exaggerated. I played several songs from pop, rock and classical and the performance was really good, very enjoyable.
Phone calls were clear and mic works great.
BT Range was surprisingly wide. I went all over my home away from my phone which was BT connected without been disconnected or having any lag.
Esthetically speaking they look great, and they are very comfortable. Mine are black matte finish with faux leather at the top of the headband. The ear cups are well padded and accommodate really good over my ear, with the adjustable headband. They are very light (192 grams) and can be worn for hours.
Battery Life specs states that will last over 35 hours, which is a lot, I didn’t have the chance to test them that long but I have been playing music for more that 10 hours after a full charge without any sound degradation or disconnects and the Battery indicator in the app still showing more than half charge.
Noise Cancellation on these ones is awesome. Very effective and feels isolated of the world while listening your music
Easy to use, period. And once you install the app you will find more fun discovering all the additional functionality, it is very intuitive.
One of the details that I really like (you can call me an old fashion guy, I still miss the physical buttons on my cell phone) is that these headphones come with physical button instead of touch controls. Right ear has the Volume Control, NC, and Sound Mode. Left ear has the Power/BT, 3.5mm aux in, and USB port for charging. So you can use these headphones wired or wireless, and that is something that I have always loved from Sony, the versatility that their products offer.
No longer Voice instructions like other models, only beeps.
Multipoint feature can be enabled through the Sony Headphones Connect App as well as the DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement), that improves the sound, that might loose quality due to the BT compression.
Finally I installed the Sony Headphones Connect app, download from my Google play, and in the apple app store. It is a great tool, you can enjoy ambient sound mode, record your activity use time, and setup 360 Reality Audio. For this last step it will show you an audio demonstration on how it would sound with and without the 360 feature. If you choose to have the 360 you will need to get the 360 Reality app as well. I didn’t enable this feature, I prefer to hear the music without any other added feature or enhancement, other than EQ, however I am really pleased with the sound quality that I didn’t need to tweak the treble or bass at all. Obviously Voice assistant can be enabled as well. Noise cancelling settings, firmware update, automatic power off, etc, are some of the settings that you can control through this Sony App.

The right size and sound quality for my studio!

I have a small studio, around 15x15, it only has a sofa and a small desk that I use like an office or just for reading. Sometimes I carry with me a bluetooth speaker, when I am in the mood just to close the door to read or relax. But the BT speaker does not have the sound quality you are expecting, I have to place the speaker really close, and even so I don’t feel satisfied, or sometimes feel frustrated. But I have a Yamaha Amplifier in my living room, that has the option to either select a set of A or B speakers which is next to my studio. And having this set of Martin Logan Bookshelf Speakers, I ran the wire from my Yamaha Amp, to my studio and connect them. This way I was able to get the most from them. The size and the finish are outstanding. Mines are Glossy Black. It also comes with a black cloth bag to protect them, this is a nice and useful detail, very clever. Knowing the high-quality sound that these speakers are capable to deliver, in this small area, they didn't disappoint, they sounded wonderful. The tweeters deliver crispy and crystal-clear sound, and the bass is very well balanced. These small fellas are rated 125watts rms at 5 ohms with a frequency range from 45hz to 25khz, bass reflex, they are very powerful, but my main goal was to test quality more than power. They definitely are the perfect companion for small area. No distortion, no vibration, the solid enclosure reassures a great bass reflex, with crisp highs and deep bass. I played my classical music, as well as some Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Carpenters, Engelbert Humperdinck, and all these wonderful voices sounded so clear and well defined. To be honest, I have never seen so much high quality for a set of bookshelf speakers. But that is what Martin Logan does, only high-quality equipment. My studio sounds and looks elegant with this set, and I finally have the pleasure to listening my music as it supposed to be.

A must have for the dialogue in movies!

This review is part of a Martin Logan Speakers set I have got. As you well known, center speakers are designed to improve the chats and dialogues of the movie, being a key part and critical component of any home theater system. The majority of all the chatting, and dialogues will come out from this speaker. Music performance will be not relevant for this purpose. With that in mind, I tested this speaker with a couple of movies that have a lot of action sequences and at the same time many dialogues in between.
But first, lets start by the quality and appearance of the speaker. It feels and looks really high end as it is supposed to be. Robust enclosure (and this is very important because you want to isolate the negative sound that comes naturally from the back of the speaker efficiently without affecting the displacing performance of the speaker movement), heavy (big magnets, 34pounds) and powerful (rated 150watts rms at 5ohms impedance, which is a lot), that means that will require 5.5 amps at maximum sound volume. Something that you want to have in consideration for the speaker wire you want to use. Martin Logan design the enclosure in a way that you can choose the orientation so you can flip it upside down to angle the sound up toward your listening position if placing it on a lower shelf. The look is stylish, angled, elegant with a nice grill design and black glossy finish cabinet that you will feel proud to have in your living as part of the rest of the furniture. Mine is Gloss Black, shiny, modern and very stylish. Setup is simple, the speaker comes with an accessory box that includes the “feet” that stuck to the cabinet using tape. A very nice and useful black soft bag to cover it, and the QR code to download the instruction manual, which I always recommend to read it in order to familiarize better with any product you get. In this case, just go to page 13, there you will see the specifications which will help you to understand what amplifier and cables you might need depending on the power that you amp is capable to deliver.
The frequency response is surprisingly wide for a center speaker, 42Hz – 25kHz, practically like a high end regular speaker. The packaging reflects the level of quality and care Martin Logan invests on their products, it was really well packaged. It took me some quite time to unpack it, but while I was doing it I realized, that I was in front of a really high end product.
My old man used to say, about high end sound equipment, “the heavier, the better”, and even if nowadays the design of modern Sound equipment’s has reduce significantly the size and weight of the components like transformers, magnets and big capacitors, that statement is still valid today.
For the test, I have an old school Yamaha 200watts at 4 ohms per channel amplifier, signal noise ratio of 97db, 0,008THD, for the center channel 100watts at 6 ohms, setting up the volume level to 4 to begin with. So, I was watching the remake of “The Godfather 3” and even if this is not a “loud” movie, I was able to hear clearly the chatting of the crowd very distinctively while the main characters were talking in the main scene. This is the level of detail that makes a great sound effect. Watching Thor Ragnarok was very pleasant, even with the explosions, screaming, yelling, lasers, the clarity of dialogues were outstanding and sounded completely independent of the rest of the speaker set. The tweeter is very distinctive to discriminate the voices sounding. But you have to take in consideration, that this center speaker, with the right amplifier really got to the point, which is to centralized the vocal and midrange frequencies efficiently. But something else that surprise me as well, was that I move to different sections of the living room, left, right and I received the this bath of clarity and atmospheric sound involvement, which is something that I wasn’t expecting.
I am very pleased with the performance of this center speaker and extremely happy to have the full set to enjoy my listening experience even more.

Astonishing, hifi, consistent & balanced sound!

For a long time I heard about Martin Logan brand spearkers, but to be honest, I wasnt sure how good they were until I got the 2 Floorstanding F100 model speakers. They are amazing. Even the packaging reflects the level of quality and care Martin Logan invests on their products. They are really well packaged, it took me some quite time to unpackage them, but I realized that I was in front of a really high end product and I was feeling more curious about the sound quality they can deliver.
The Speakers are heavy, no doubt, 76 pounds. Which tells me that the engineers have spared no efforts in the design of a robust enclosure (and this is very important because you want to isolate the negative sound that comes naturally from the back of the speaker efficiently without affecting the displacing performance of the speaker movement), and big magnets. My old man used to say, about high end sound equipment, “the heavier, the better.” Even if nowadays many designers have reduce significantly the size and weight of the components like transformers, magnets and big capacitors, that statement is still valid today. When I was in university, my teacher told us that everything about speakers, formulas, enclosure design, etc, was written in a book that I still have from the 1950’s. However Martin Logan has proved that there is still much more to offer.
Starting by the look, they are good looking set of speakers that you will feel proud to have in your living room as part of the rest of the furniture. Mine are Gloss Black, shiny, stylish. Setup is simple, each speaker comes with an accessory box that includes the “leg support”, in 2 different ways, spikes for carpeting or rubber feet for hardwood flooring, which are easy to install with the provided allen wrench tool. A very nice and useful black soft bag to cover them, and the QR code to download the instruction manual, which I always recommend to read it in order to familiarize better with any product you get. In this case, just go to page 13. There you will see the specifications which will help you to understand what kind of amplifier and cables you might need depending on the power that you amp is capable to deliver. The overall design is up to date, elegant with nice speaker grilles.
So, basically, you want to focus on the RMS value, not the PMPo or any peak Power sound concept that many brands invented years ago in order to mask the lack of power of their speakers and Amps. These speakers are rated to reach a max of 225 rms watts at 4 ohms, which is high, but will they deliver the same high fidelity, balanced, clarity harmonious at high or low power sound, while you are increasing or decreasing the knob volume?. You are looking for a consistence quality sound, that is exactly what I have found these speakers are capable to deliver.
You have to understand that with a Power of 225watts at 4ohms, if you do the formula, at the maximum volume level with a Powerful amp, these speaker will be running 8amps each one, considering that you have an amplifier capable to deliver that amount of power, only half way you still have 4amps running on each speaker, which is a lot. So that tells you that you need a good set of quality, thick, stranded speaker wire cables. The thicker they are, the better, because will offer less resistance and therefore will be more efficient. At the back you will see that there is an impressive high quality speaker audio connectors, with a metal bridge, for 2 kind of connectivity configuration, single wire connection and bi wire connection. Just use the single wire connection, which means, leave the metal bridge in place and connect your negative and positive output of your amp in the corresponding speaker connector.

Since my old set of Polk Speakers got ruined by a flood some time ago, and I was just surviving with a soundbar.
So my configuration is as follows, 200 watts Yamaha Amplifier, 200watts 12in Klipsch Subwoofer, 10 gauge speaker cables, and a Technics Turntable with Grado Cartridge and stylus, and a Bluetooth audio converter. On page 8 of the manual Martin Logan recommends to break-in the speakers for 72 hours at 90 dB, before you start to seriously consider the listening. I found this very interesting, but it really makes a lot of sense.
So, I was ready to start with what I consider is a challenging symphony for any Sound equipment, 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky, and the reason I choose this symphony is because of the sound variations, low and high frequencies will be put in test, and also by the canons at the end. I started just with the 25% of the sound power volume, and the clarity and definition of the violins were amazing, then I increased until the 50%, and was holding the balance between instruments, clarity, colorful sound without any distortion. And I forget to decrease the volume and while I was thinking that the canons will ruin the good moment I was having, I was surprised, the epic final of the symphony, which I am pretty sure it easily reached peaks of 8amps, was perfectly clear, like being in the actual music hall listening live.
So, my next candidate was the Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven, because I want to hear the chorus, and the end of the 4th Movement. These speakers are capable to really differentiate very well the voices and instruments, I was very impressed. Again, I tested between 50% and 65% of the sound volume, and all the way the speakers were able to hold the clarity and definition for every instrument.
Finally I tried a couple of songs, the John Lennon’s Starting Over in Vinyl, because I want to hear the beginning dreamy solo section, and John’s beautiful voice. And then I tested the mp3 song Royals by Lorde, to see how performs the BASS. Both songs sounded fantastic. Then I tried the many 4 phases and quad Vinyl records I have, just to recall how much I used to enjoy to listen how the songs should sound.
Martin Logan has resurrected the right way to listen, appreciate and enjoy the music, if you are a music lover like me, the listening from these speakers, the quality and power they are capable to deliver is a very pleasant experience, not to mention that they look great!

And I forget to decrease the volume and while I was thinking that the canons will ruin the good moment I was having, I was surprised, the epic final of the symphony, which I am pretty sure it easily reached peaks of 8amps, was perfectly clear, like being in the actual music hall listening live.
So, my next candidate was the Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven, because I want to hear the chorus, and the end of the 4th Movement. These speakers are capable to really differentiate very well the voices and instruments, I was very impressed. Again, I tested between 50% and 65% of the sound volume, and all the way the speakers were able to hold the clarity and definition for every instrument.
Finally I tried a couple of songs, the John Lennon’s Starting Over in Vinyl, because I want to hear the beginning dreamy solo section, and John’s beautiful voice. And then I tested the mp3 song Royals by Lorde, to see how performs the BASS. Both songs sounded fantastic. Then I tried the many 4 phases and quad Vinyl records I have, just to recall how much I used to enjoy to listen how the songs should sound.
Martin Logan has resurrected the right way to listen, appreciate and enjoy the music, if you are a music lover like me, the listening from these speakers, the quality and power they are capable to deliver is a very pleasant experience, not to mention that they look great!

Great idea to complement my Nintendo Switch!

I got the Nintendo switch a month ago, and I like it, I was impressed with the graphics and the variety of games. However the Joysticks buttons were tiny for my fingers and hard to operate and because of this, I was making the mistake pressing 2 buttons and ruining my game.
This MGC - Switchplate Wireless Nintendo Switch Controller was extremely useful. The size of the XYBA buttons were just right for my fingers. Everything is organized in a way that makes sense and intuitive. The wireless function is a great idea, and the response is really good, didn’t see any difference is terms of performance with the Nintendo controller. I like the option to exchange the cover plates, so if you get bored with the black just change it with the white.

It is surprisingly affordable for it’s design and what it does. It also comes with the USB C to USB cable for charging or connectivity.
For the Setup I followed the instructions closely, first I fully charged it, but I had some trouble trying to pair with the Nintendo Switch wirelessly. So with the Nintendo out of the base I used a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect directly to the controller, and after some troubleshoot I noticed that on the top menu on the right there was an icon called “change grip/order” and once I pressed that, it selected the MGC controller, and everything started to work. I supposed it was probably paired since the beginning and I didn’t notice.
This is a really cool complement that adds a great value for my Nintendo switch, and works great as secondary controller.

It has never been so easy to make great cappuccino

I am a coffee lover and I have owned a lot coffee makers, and few years ago I was able to get an espresso coffee machine. But after a while I started to notice some disadvantages. For example, it requires a lot of space of my counter, considering all the accessories like the grinder machine, the portafilter, the coffee tamper, the milk frothing pitcher, the filter baskets, etc. And turns out that I eventually became the barista and every time we had guests at home they asked me for my good espresso coffee so I spend a lot of time grinding the coffee, frothing the milk, making the espresso and the whole process would take me a good 7 minutes per cup, and obviously you want to do it right. Then you have to clean all the accessories, portafilter, frothing pipe, the grinder etc. With the Delonghi, I can have a Cappuccino ready in no more than 2 minutes, with zero effort.
Size is very convenient measuring 17.5x10x14.5 inches. Since the first cup of espresso that was prepared when I was just testing it I noticed that this unit proved to be way above my expectations. The espresso looks and tastes delicious, and you can get the frothing milk as well with no effort! Cappuccinos taste great, and all I have to do is just place the cup on the base and the unit takes care of everything, you just select what you want.
The machine it is not too big for all that it does, but definitely saves a lot of space in my counter, comparing to my previous Expresso maker, and it looks and feels high quality made. I love how it looks in my counter! You can make regular Coffee, Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso, Foamed Milk and something that was unexpected and it is a huge advantage over other brands, is that you can use Ground or Pre-ground coffee.
The setup is super easy, just follow the instructions to perform an initial clean of the system. On page 6, step 4, it will asked you to use a large water container, which I didn’t have, so all you have to do is place the cup on the left side under the hot water spout, once the water has been dispensed, once it stops move the cup to the right under the coffee spout. Then you want to install the water softener filter in the water tank. Just keep in mind that every time you turn on the machine it will pour water through the coffee spout, so put a cup underneath. It is a clever design because you want to flush the pipes before you have your espresso prepared. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and the whole process won’t take you more than 15 minutes including the unpackaging. You want to prepare at least 4 espressos and dump them until finally try your first espresso. The first time I saw the first cup of espresso being dispensed I couldn’t believe what I was watching. The consistency, the color and smell was great, delicious. And making Cappuccinos and frothed milk was so easy and tasty. You just fill the milk container that is included with milk, preferably full milk for a better result, remove the water spout located on the left side, insert the milk container and that is it. Just remember that every time you use the milk option, the machine will ask you to clean the pipe, so just place an empty cup underneath and the press the button that will be blinking.
You can customize many things on this unit, like the strength, quantity, even the grinder setting, that is located on the top in the ground basket area, however after many tests, I found that the default setting works just fine. And there is another basket on top for the Pre-Ground coffee. Having this option was definitely a great idea. I like when a brand gives you several options to choose.
The maintenance is very easy. I would definitely recommend it to everybody that loves a good coffee, and not only that but is a time saver, no more spending time just to make sure you can get the perfect coffee, this unit does it for you. Magnifica is definitely the right name for this machine!

Extra Storage and Fortnite Extra Weapons!

I have the Nintendo switch that comes with the basic 32GB and I have started to download more games recently so I love this extra 256GB memory for my device! Installing it is so simple, I just turned off my device and lifted the stand found in the back of the Nintendo where you can find a small pocket to install it. Once it’s in, you can go to the settings and then data management where it tells me that I now have a microSD card with 238gb of free space. I am also able to move data between the Local Storage and the 256GB so I have more space in the main memory for the OS and Apps. This purchase also comes with a virtual Fortnite angular wrap. My dad used to be a huge fan of music and had a good taste for audio equipments. Every time we were shopping for Amps or Turntables he used to tell me that a way to start evaluating an amplifier was "the heavier the better". And he was right at some point. On Amplifiers, big and heavy magnet transformer and big capacitors that would make the unit more expensive or heavier than others, however these conditions will guarantee a good performance. Nowadays that reasoning would change with the new design of the power supplies, but, OMG, this Technics Turntable is the heaviest that I have experienced so far. And that is a clear indication that the designer engineers has spared no one single detail to get a really high quality product, which definitely has changed the way I have appreciate music from vinyls until today.
To be honest, this is my dream turntable that I have been waiting for. The unit doesn’t come with Cartridge or stylus, and obviously will need a Phono preamp. I had ordered a Ortophon 2M cartridge, and a Grado Silver3, the first one I am plaining to use for the day by day use and the Grado for recordings and special events. I am excited waiting for those to arrive. But for now, in this case, I have used the old school and never disappointing Shure M91ED, with a brand new stylus. I also tested the unit with the Audio Technica 440. However I was able to get the full performance that the Shure cartridge and its stylus can offer with this turntable. The Shure was famous for its punchy sound vibrant on the high notes, an excellent choice for Rock music, but it is very sensitive to the tracking force and antiskating, and if the turntable is a not performing well from the star to the end while playing the vinyl, it may be suffering from distortion. And this Turntable performed flawlessly!
For the amp, I used the Yamaha DSP-A1000, with Yamaha Floorstanding Speakers and Yamaha Subwoofer which is an excellent old school amplifier and it is as heavy as this turntable. I also tried the separate preamp Fluance PA10 that I bought time ago while looking to upgrade my Amp. I also have a big Sony Soundbar, however, if you really want to listen high quality music, you have to remember that vinyls are recorded in Stereo, so you need an stereo amp (L and R) an preamp to really hear the music the way it was conceived.
So, if you have a Ferrari, you cannot go cheap on the tires, or low octane gasoline, you want to reach the best performance you can get.

I think they will be wasted in any other one, which I found interesting because I was always able to find little flaws like distortion or vibration so it is definitely the turntable that make it sound great, no distortion of any kind. The setup is easy, if you are familiar with turntables you just need to follow the instructions of the Owner’s Manual. It comes with a high quality audio phono cable which I strongly recommend to use, the phono earth cable, the head shell, power cable, plate, mat and 1 main balance weight and 2 auxiliary weights. These 2 I didn’t need to use, however most likely when the Grado Cartridge arrive, I may need them, since Grado cartridge are heavy.
So after you assemble the plate and its screws, your next step is a sensitive part, attaching the cartridge to the head shell. Technics has included an overhang gauge, that will let you adjust the position of the cartridge based on the distance of the stylus, on the head shell, be patient and careful while doing this so you don’t want to damage the stylus. This calibration part is important because it will guarantee a uniform performance response while playing a whole vinyl. If this is not well done, you will have distortion, vibrations or skips. I also used a Alignment Protractor cart, to make sure the cartridge alignment and calibration was right. This can be found and print from the internet.
Then you attach the balance weight. Look for the specs of the Stylus you are using to apply the correct Tracking force, for the Shure I am using for example it is 1.25, but I prefer 1, and the same for the Antiskating. The Audio Technica is around 2.5, keep in mind this because the better you setup this unit you will get excellent sound performance, and you will ended up enjoying the vinyls as I am right now.
And that is it. The turntable is ready to roll!
Now, since is a high end unit, it includes many other manual adjustments, like the height of the arm, or the turntable start up and brake speed that are located in 3 tiny screws below the plate. I think probably the with Grado Cartridge will require some arm height calibration. As for the rest, I recommend leave it with the default setting, it works just fine. However this adjustments are available.
This high end Turntable doesn’t have the automatic or semiautomatic start/Stop, which is common on low end commercial turntables. This feature usually takes power from the main motor, whish will affect the performance creating a bias or recess of power. So, in this case, you turn on the unit, use the cue lever to move the arm to the vinyl, and when the play finish, lift the cue lever and return the arm to the arm rest.
The pitch control is a great tool, the slide pith has 2 options, +-8 or +-16 in percentage and you select your choice by pressing the 2x botton the strobe light looks really fancy. And then you have the stylus light switch, that will let you see the condition of the stylus, if it requires to be clean it, beside the fact that is another cool feature.
The direct drive motor will always adjust the speed at 33 1/3 no matter the weight of the vinyl, it is digitally adjusted and will guarantee the right speed of the song, and direct drive is always the technology to go.
This turntable is solid, well designed, every single screw feels high quality, either the tone arm (magnesium alloy) or the whole chassis (brass aluminum). Everything tells me how reliable is this unit, the high quality design prevents to get distortion, absorbs the vibration, and doesn’t allot high frequencies interfering.
Vinyls have been always my favorite way of music source, you can enjoy the art design, read the lyrics, and I don’t like the 5.1 or 7.1 for music, since the original source is stereo and the natural way to listen. For example, The Beatles Albums, Abbey Road, or Revolver, are more enjoyable, to listen the music the way it was recorded, and this turntable performs amazingly.
I have had several turntables, but this one beats all of them!

THE PERFECT TRAVEL COMPANION

This is the charger I was looking for my traveling. It is compact, solid, it looks and feels high quality, stylish,and durable. It has a foldable plug which is a perfect detail for traveling with a very fast charging process. I can use the 3 USB ports (2 USB-C and 1 USB-A) simultaneously!. I have some other USB Power adapters with 2 and 3 USB ports, but not all the ports can be used at the same time, one of them will be disabled. On this one using one USB-C will give the full power of 65w. I have a Samsung cell phone model 32, and it was fully charged in less than half hour. If you use one of the USB-C and the USB-A port you will get 40w and 22w. Using the 3 of them you will get 40w (top USB-C), 12w (Second USB-C), and 12w (USB-A). The material feels really high quality and it comes with 18 months warranty. I have charged my Dell XPS and Samsung laptop and considering that these 2 laptops are very picky when you try to use an adapter that is not theirs, they accepted this anker charger adapter with no problem and charged super fast. I like it!
