The first thing I noticed about the Epson V19II is how it weighs almost nothing. Of course, I did not read the instructions and I plugged the power cable into an outlet with a USB connection. I pressed what I thought was the “on” button and nothing happened. I tired another outlet with a USB connection and the same results! At this point, I pulled out the directions. I was pleasantly surprised to find simple directions in a decent size font. Turns out the scanner automatically turns on when you plug it into a computer. Unfortunately, my Mac does not have the standard USB connector the power cord expected. I have another laptop (non Mac) that does. When plugging in the scanner the button I thought was the “on” button has a little blue light that came on. Woo Hoo! Next step was to go to the Epson site and download the scanner software. Easy! After that I was scanning. From unpacking to scanning a document was 30 minutes or less. That includes the 10 minutes it took to figure out to plug the scanner into a computer and not an electrical outlet. The scanner has four buttons. One that scans the document and you can enhance the scanned image and/or crop the image as needed. Another that scans the document and saves as a .pdf, one that sends the scanned document to an email and one that sends the scanned document directly to the printer. One nifty little feature is the kickstand on the back of the scanner. Takes a bit to get used, a scanner standing sideways! That one little function earned this Epson scanner a place on the desk.

Reading through the included manual it does not tell me to install an app. WooHoo! A product that doesn’t need an app to work. I plugged them in to charge. Turns out they are shipped with a bit of paper covering the contacts! So be sure to remove the paper from the contacts on each earpiece before charging! Being used to an earbud style for any type of device in my ear, I was a bit nervous about putting the earpiece into my ear. The directions said to hold your ear and pull it straight with your other hand to help insert the earpiece. That technique worked great. Once they are in your ears you don’t realize they are there. I know they work because I only have to turn the television to one third the volume I do when I’m not wearing them. Connecting to my phone was easy. In the Bluetooth area the “Go Ultra” device simply showed up. (The hearing aids were on and in my ears when I did this). When making a phone call the Go Ultra device shows up on the phone just like “Speaker” so you can choose to use them for the phone call or not. All in all, they work well and are easy to use. The charging case charges even when it’s not plugged in (if the case has been charged) which is great for travel. One item that takes a bit of getting used to is the retention wire that is used to help remove the dome from the ear. If it sticks out too far, like it did when I first tried the hearing aids, then you need to insert the dome into the ear. Remember they are not earbuds! I called customer service to inquire about the retention wire because it was sticking out past my ear. I didn’t believe the recording when it said the wait time was 9 seconds. The call was answered by a real person in about 3 seconds. (Yes, I timed them). Amazing in this day and age!

The XV800 X-Series Bluetooth® Party Speaker is a pretty large unit. About the size of most subwoolfers, but taller. It is 13” wide, 14” front to back and 27” tall. It is quite heavy. Once it is unpacked, it has wheels which makes it easy to move around. First thing, plug it in and let the unit charge for three hours. The electrical cord is five feet ling so you’ll probably need an extension cord. Next install the “Sony Music Center” application. Turn the speaker on and the Bluetooth function on your phone will find it and connect easily. Play music on your phone and Wow! It’s a party! It sounds as good or better than my expensive audio system. Volume can be controlled on the speaker or the phone. There is a mega base button that increases the amount of base. Easy to turn on or off. Multicolor lights appear on the front of the unit. The colors move through the color spectrum at a pace that is pleasing. The lights can be turned off if you prefer. With the application there are eight additional light modes to choose from. Installing the “Fiestable” gives you even more choices and voice control. Turn the lights on, change the speed and flashing pattern. With the motion control feature you can adjust the volume with a simple movement of your phone. You can group multiple speakers together if you are covering a large area.
A really great function of this party speaker is the ability to connect to the TV. Comes with an optical cable for easy installation. Took this out of the box, plugged in and turned on. It worked. You have to love the simplicity in this complicated world. The “buttons” on the top are easy to understand and navigate. There is a small light in the front that goes from blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Blue means the air is excellent air quality while red is very polluted. Was pleased to see it was blue in my home. I’ll keep using the Blueair purifier to keep it that way! I find fans and air purifiers can be noisy. The Blueair Blue Pure model is pretty quiet. On the lowest and second lowest speeds I forget it’s on, it’s so quiet. At the third and fourth (highest) speeds you can hear it running but it is not annoying. I plan to keep this in my bedroom and run on the second or third speed. Like most items today there is an app. I was pleasantly surprised by the information available in the app. For example, it told me my fan speed was 70% (3rd speed choice). The app also provides information about the air quality outside. A filter status is displayed in the app so you can for filter replacements. Finally, you can schedule times for the Blueair to run, including fan speed. In addition to its being pretty quiet I like the aesthetics. It’s unobtrusive, so even though it’s in the room it’s not the center of attention. As it gets pretty warm where I live I appreciate the air being blown out of the unit is cool.

It's Just FUN! Easy to ride and maneuver- LOVE IT

Amazing! Very smooth ride. Easy to pedal and maneuver. If you get tired of peddling, simply press the “+” sign to engage the pedal assist, e.g. electric battery. It’s like riding a minibike (had a Yamaha 80 as a kid) but the Hover-1 Altai R500 is not nearly as heavy or loud as a minibike. Can I just say it? I love this bike! I didn’t get the whole electric bike thing but now that I have one, I get it! So fun. The wheels are nice and wide (fat tires), I think that’s why it rides so smoothly. There is a nice big light on the front that even has a high beam. There is toggle you move right to left to indicate you are turning, yep that’s right it has blinkers. And if needed the horn, it is quite loud. I just love this bike! It took about 2 hours to unpack and put together. The tires needed to have air added, as expected. I am 5.2” and sitting on the bike my tip toes touch the floor. My neighbor is 5.5” and sitting on the bike her feet are flat on the floor. As the manufacturer states this is for 15 year olds and up, maximum weight of 264 lbs. The seat is not adjustable. The handlebars can be adjusted. According to the manual the bike is set to a top speed of just under 19.88 mph which makes it legal to ride on most bike paths in the US without a license or insurance. The manual says you can go up to 28 mph in unlimited mode. The online manual is the exact same manual that comes with the Altai R500, page 40 has all the specifications.

Super easy setup. Paired with Bluetooth functionality first time without jumping through hoops. Application was easy to download from the Apple store. To turn on, take them out of the storage container. To turn them off put them back in the storage container. The app walks you through putting them in your ears correctly. Then it pairs with your phone. Next it goes through a hearing test for each ear. This takes about 10 minutes. Then you hear some voluminous noise almost like a concert starting and the results of your ear test are provided. Not surprisingly, I have some hearing loss. The app is sure easy. The “Home” page has an option for World Volume. If you set to “On” you can adjust the volume. This was so fantastic, after setting to on and not even half volume I could actually hear the words being spoken on the TV. No more closed captions! I also had the Focus on which helped with the spoken words on the TV. The package came with a little carrying bag, a brush to clean the ear tips and plenty of different sizes of ear tips.

Love the simplicity of these JVC earbuds. They are called Marshmallow and I think that's because the part that goes in your ear is very soft and malleable (pliable, flexible). They sort of melt into your ears and you don't even feel them after a few minutes. The first thing I did was check the instructions and look for whatever the app I needed to install. I was pleasantly surprised to find, there is no app! So fabulous. I'm so tired of everything needing an app. I want to charge the item, turn it on and have it work. You don't even turn these on, they automatically turn on when you take them out of their case. Fabulous. The simplicity of these JVC Marshmallow earbuds is just beautiful. You charge them, take them out of the case and put them in your ears. That's it. Connect to your phone (or other device) via Bluetooth. I did an unscientific test and they were active for a little over twenty hours before telling me they needed to be charged. That's right, they tell you when they need to be charged. There is a little yellow tape over the battery/charging point on each earbud (very small you might miss it) so be sure to take that off before charging them. Sound is great. I have many headphones, all different styles and I think these are my new favorite.

Yes, this makes a difference! My test was very scientific, I used it in my right ear only. At first I didn't really notice anything. But three days in to my test I woke up in the morning and was rubbing my left ear. Didn't think much about it until later that day I was also rubbing my left ear (control ear for my test). It was just kind of itchy. Never really noticed that my ears itched before this product was sent to me, but I did rub them ever so often. My right ear (test ear) was not itchy and I was not rubbing it! It kind of makes sense that earbuds and/or hearing aids could rub your ear and cause some friction/dryness. I reviewed the ingredients and the very first one is Apricot Kernel Oil which is the same stuff in the cuticle oil I use to keep my cuticles soft. The next ingredient is Jojoba oil which is an ingredient in many conditioning and moisturizing products. Reading the ingredient list, I could eleven oils and these are the first eleven ingredients. There are only a few other ingredients like vitamin E, D3 and aloe.

First let me state, I am not a chef, foodie or even someone who cooks regularly. I had of course heard about Sous Vide, even tried food prepared this way at a friend’s home. I used the Anova precision cooker to prepare a meal of Filet Mignon, fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. All three recipes came from the Internet. The recipe did say the filet would come out a greyish brown color and you would want to sear it in a pan before serving (picture attached). The sous vide water bath resulted in an evenly cooked, tender filet. The fingerling potatoes came out fluffy. The mushrooms came out fabulous. They too had to be sautéed after being removed. When I sauté mushrooms they end up flat. With the sous vide they were still plump and oh so very tender, even after sautéing.
Although you need to place the food in a plastic bag, it turns out it does not have to be any type of fancy vacuum sealing bag. You can use high quality (brand name) plastic storage bags. A bit of research shows, they are BPA free. You do have to get as much as air as possible out of the bag. You can do this with a water immersion technique, a video with instructions is on the Anova site. Air in the bag will cause the bag to float to the top and thus food at the top of the bag won’t have the sous vide experience.
The Anova Precision Cooker is small, sits on the edge of the pot. The digital temperature and time setting are quite simple to use. You can also download the Anova app and use it to control the precision cooker.

Love the weight of this Acer chromebook. So light which makes it very transportable. I have a laptop for work and although less than a year old, it is quite heavy to carry around. This chromebook is perfect for a few hours of internet research while at the coffee shop. I keep it in the living room for a quick email check and/or quick purchase of whatever I realize I need. It came with a carry case and I confess I would buy this chromebook just for the carry case. Also lightweight, it looks like a file folder. The carry case is padded and has a zipper pocket on the outside for the electric cord to keep it separate from the Chromebook, perfect.
The screen size is 15” and graphics are good. Setup was straight forward. Because the unit is designed to be used with Google, a Google account is expected. According to the directions without a Google account you would not be able to save any search criteria because all activity would be done as a guest. I got stuck in a bit of a loop without a Google account and was eventually able to complete setup. I continue to use this chromebook as a guest and have had no issues.

The Fellow grinder plugs into the American standard (120v) outlet in my kitchen and works great. Perhaps the documentation you read had a typo?

I plugged the Fellow coffee grinder into the American standard kitchen outlet (120v) and works great, no issues. Perhaps the documentation you read had a typo?
