Interesting version of the game

If you are reading this you are probably curious like I was as to how this version of the game compares to that of the other consoles. I had held off on buying Imaginators in hopes of the game being discounted around this point, but when I saw it was available on the Nintendo Switch I decided to add it to my new console to help break it in.
That said I haven't played any other iterations of this game, aside from past entries including Superchargers on both the PS4 and Wii U. As I started with the Wii U version of Superchargers I wanted to be able to use the Nintendo-centric characters (DK and Bowser) on a Nintendo console that would support them. So for this reason I was going to go with either the Switch or originally the Wii U version of the game. The game seems to run at 720p no matter whether docked or in handheld mode. Docked it will upconvert to 1080p, but the image looks rather soft like the Wii U version of Superchargers. This resolution is great on the Switch handheld as it's native resolution is 720p. If you were okay with the Wii U game this one won't disappoint. It feel the Switch could handle a higher resolution like 900p or even 1080p on this title, but there are no options to change this and it would require a future patch from Activision. While this doesn't seem likely it's quite possible that future iterations of the game could be better optimized.
Load times seem to be on par with Wii U as well, again not bad, but somewhat noticeable. Aside from that the game appears to be the full game with the omission of being able to use vehicles and traps.
Figures scan into the right Joy-con thumbstick or the center of the Pro controller, and no portal is included or needed. Vehicles you own when scanned will give several items for character creation, but can't be used in game aside from this feature. I did run into a few issues scanning figures, namely when scanning the Thump Truck vehicle on the Pro controller wouldn't work because of it's raised height from large tires. But this vehicle would scan without issue on the right Joy-con thumbstick. And Tree-Rex wouldn't scan in on the Joy-con, but worked great on the Pro controller. I have over 100 figures and vehicles but these issues only happened on around maybe four or five figures, so if you have the Pro controller use it with these problematic scanning figures. Figures must be scanned twice to add them to your game, allowing you to select them anytime after that without the figure being needed. If you scan them only once you can use them in game, but when you go to the character select screen they will be almost greyed out with a message to scan the figure a second time to unlock them. It's great to have your entire selection of characters available on the go without physical figures.
The character selection screen is very poorly designed and you have to scan left to right only viewing the tokens of four characters at a time. It can be quite nauseating to scroll through them all and I found looking at their names versus tokens helped some. Selectable characters are left in the order in which you scan them into the game so scan the characters you will use most into the game last so you have less characters to cycle through to find the ones you want. The exception seems to be Swap Force characters that the game automatically deposits at the far left of the character select screen causing the most time to scroll through other characters first from right to left in order to reach them. Hopefully this is fixed in the future with a screen with each element and then when selected lists pages of 10-20 characters at a time. But that I would say is my biggest criticism of the game at this time and it looks like it is something that could be easily fixed. If you don't have many characters the character selection is barely passable, but for fans of the game with large collections it can be a headache.

This figure is a great addition to Breath of the Wild and would be good to have if you want some help without too much overpowering weapons. (SPOILERS) This figure will spawn a chest with useful weapons, typically those used by the Bokoblin such as their better bows and clubs. It will also drop useful items like apples and other food items. If you are wanting just a little help over what is offered in the game this is a great figure to add to your game as it's helpful but not to a fault.

Of all the Breath of the Wild amiibo, Zelda's would seem to offer the least value in game. The figure is highly detailed and looks great in a collection. (SPOILERS) Zelda will spawn a chest when scanned that contains useful items like weapons or typically special arrows or gems. Around the chest it will drop mushrooms or other useful herbs.

They unlock a Crash themed island that has activities that unlock their Soul gems (giving them additional powers). (SPOILERS) The activity that unlocks Dr Neos Soul gem is a classic Crash stage running toward the screen with a large boulder following as you avoid pitfalls and obstacles. The stage unlocking Crash's Soul gem is a classic arcade style shooter game where you shoot alien ships and have an explosion attack that destroys any enemies near you but requires a recharge. Play as your favorite hero with The Legend of Zelda video game for the Wii U. Fans of the old NES game can revisit the original Legend of Zelda to gather the eight pieces of the Triforce once again. Set out on original quests as Link in The Legend of Zelda video game.

Plays better than you would expect on the Wii U

For those owning a Wii U not wanting to buy a Switch quite yet, the Wii U version runs great and is well worth buying. On Wii U it renders at 720p 30fps at most times on console or Gamepad (though Gamepad only displays 854x480) with occasional dips to around 20fps. Basically it runs fairly smoothly and never becomes unplayable or locks up. The game offers no extra features on the Gamepad except offscreen play, so don't plan on inventory management being available there. But if you have a Wii U I highly recommend grabbing this game.

Awesome huge amiibo

This figure is huge including the box it comes in. It has pose-able arms as you may know if you have followed these figures. (SPOILERS) This figure will spawn a chest containing useful weapons and swords. It has a chance of spawning a high level 45 or possibly 60 level guardian sword (though I may have received the lvl 60 sword from another in game enemy). It will also spawn three to five metal containers that would otherwise appear useless. Use your magnesis to lift these boxes high into the air and then drop them (just not on your head as it may kill you) and you will find they contain very useful guardian parts.

Enjoy fast-paced action with Super Bomberman R for the Nintendo Switch. Race around new and exciting levels while destroying enemies and the obstacles in your path. You can play against the computer or a human opponent in Super Bomberman R to see who can maneuver through the mazes and remain the last one standing.

Fun game overshadowed by high cost

It's difficult to recommend this game at it's $49.99 MSRP. I bought it at a discount using a promotional giftcard, but can't help but feel it's still a little high. This game looks and feels like the classic Bomberman of Hudson Soft in the past, complete with a 50 level story mode and a multitude of settings. But compared with the other launch games it still feels lacking in content. Zelda offers a lot more for $10, while FAST RMX and Snipperclips should be on consideration for all Switch owners at $20 each. Personally I don't see the extra value of this game at $30 more than FAST RMX or Snipperclips and feel that it should have been priced at $20-$30. As far as the game itself, it's great and worth picking up especially if you are are a Bomberman fan, but I would still recommend to wait for a sale or price drop. My four star rating is because of the price, had it been $20-$30 it would have been five star. And again I recommend this game, just not at it's release MSRP price.

Great value, great game

My original hope was to get the Master Sword edition, but after watching this site like a hawk I still wasn't able to get one. The Special Edition set includes everything that set did except for the replica sword statue. I won't mention all items included, but the hard shell case is awesome and has ample storage for I believe 15 games and some cables or Joy-Con shoulder button straps. I was going to buy a separate case but when I saw and felt this case I found no need for another case at all.
The box itself is VERY large and colorful with what looks like gold leaf for the game title on front. It's actually bigger than the box the Switch itself comes in. It is beautiful and if you have room to display it makes a great collectible.
The soundtrack is very good, though perhaps a little bland as the game focuses most of it's sound range on ambient and other sounds from nature, making the in game soundtrack subtle at times.
The game itself is as good as everyone says and a good change for the series itself. The open world is huge and full of life. It has a lot of game essences to it like the Far Cry series, Metal Gear, and others while still being and feeling like a Zelda game at it's core.
