for me, their previous album "13" didn't live up to my expectations. it was a decent album, but it didn't blow me away like I thought it would. part of that may be due to the departure of long time guitarist Mike Clark, but aside from that, it just felt like it was missing something. that record also symbolized the welcome return of Suicidal's more metallic approach to their hyper punk-funk style... with World Gone Mad, its a noticeable improvement. the album title and album cover seems a little sub-par, but make no mistake, with the addition of ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, the Suicidal Tendencies sound just got kicked up a few notches. by now, its essentially the Mike Muir band, but the musicianship on this record definitely stays true to the vibe of the late 80's, early 90's S.T. albums.
I'm happy to see Ace enjoy a successful resurgence of popularity over the past 7 or 8 years. he's had a great run with 2 great studio albums, and now this collection of cover songs, paying tribute to his influences. it is well performed and well produced. enjoy it!
this is Obituary's 2nd full length album for Relapse records, and their 2nd one with bassist Terry Butler. and guitarist Kenny Andrews. but nevertheless, its still the same neanderthal metal from Obituary that we all know very well. the songs on this record are top notch, and the production is perfection. what more could you ask for?
ever since Max left the band back in 1997, its been a long, hard road for the newer line-up of Sepultura. but over the past 19 years, they've gradually re-built their fan base from the ground up. with the release of Machine Messiah, it marks their 8th album with singer Derrick Green, and their 2nd album with drummer Eloy Casagrande. in my opinion, this is clearly the best work they've done since Derrick has been in the band. the songs and the production are flawless. and I think this album is a huge improvement on their previous album The Mediator.
the picture quality of this brand new picture transfer is amazingly clear and super hi-def. this is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I'm so glad that it has been given the reissue treatment that it deserves. praise & props to the Scream Factory company for putting this out.
one of my favorite Crowbar albums is "Sonic Excess...". the few albums they did after that were ok, in my opinion. but this one definitely has all the qualities of a great Crowbar record, and then some. two thumbs up, and highly recommended.

I love Motorhead. this final release is the perfect epilogue to their long, fruitful career. what a way to go out. long live Lemmy, and long live Motorhead.
all I can say is that if you are an obsessive Jeff Buckley fan like me, you will really enjoy this album. its a very sparse, bare collection of recordings that is just Jeff and his guitar. its mostly cover songs, with the exception of 2 tracks. as far as I'm concerned, any remaining demo or rehearsal recordings are like gold. I'll take it.
not only is this probably the best metal release of 2016, but its probably Anthrax's best album that they've made in the 21st century. and that was a tall order, considering how good their previous album - Worship Music - was.
Anthrax is experiencing a renaissance of sorts with their recent resurgence of popularity, starting with their Worship Music album that came out a few years ago. this live video of a concert in Chile captures the tail end of that particular tour, and it does so in very well. they're at the height of their playing abilities, and the audio & video quality here is top notch. the song selection does a nice job of ranging from their 80's era albums, all the way up to Worship Music... both old and new Anthrax fans won't be disappointed.
