Good, sturdy and portable

My position in Info Tech requires that I regularly review computer specifications for our organization. When researching the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 13, I was searching for a personal computer for everyday use at home where I put the computer through a completely different workload that is often driven by more creative or "fun" activities rather than slideshows, spreadsheets and systems management tools.
The Notebook 9 Pro 13 caught my eye because of its sturdy, slim, lightweight, touchscreen, laptop/tablet...WITH A PEN. I previously had a competitor's laptop that was virtually identical in design to the Notebook 9 only slightly smaller in footprint and hard drive--and did NOT include a pen (although the technology was optional). Even with cloud storage for my personal photos, music, and documents I quickly maxed out the 128GB SSD in my old laptop so I knew I needed at least 256GB in my next machine. The Notebook 9 Pro 13 (NP940X3M) comes with a 256GB SSD hard drive. Out of the box that leaves 195GB of free space on the hard drive.
Ideally I would have preferred a 512GB hard drive but that would drive up the price. 256GB with photos & music in the cloud should still leave me enough room to install MS Office, graphics editing programs, a video editor--and leave room for more apps down the road.
The i7 processor was an upgrade from my old laptop and I must say the Notebook 9 with i7 is plenty fast.
I don't game beyond "Candy Crush" (which performed just fine on this machine). I did have my son install Call of Duty via Steam on the laptop for testing purposes. He had no difficulties gaming on the Notebook 9 Pro (as compared to his souped up gaming computer with a discrete graphics card) but he did note that a gamer would need way more hard drive capacity.
The touchscreen is responsive both to fingers and the pen. In fact, I really like the pen. It seems to work just as well as the Surface Pro pen. It is a nice touch that Samsung lets you store the pen in the laptop for safe keeping. Doodling and handwriting-to-text are about all I have done with the pen so far, but I did let an artist play with the pen. He was able to create some very nice freehand images with the built-in sketching programs. I am sure with a more robust drawing or CAD program you can do much more with the pen.
The keyboard is illuminated (something lacking from my previous laptop) which is very helpful in poorly lit rooms. It has the latest USB-C port which supposedly lets you power the laptop from an external battery. (Battery life has been average to good in first week of ownership.) Graphics from the webcam and screen are fine for the average user.
The only "cons" keeping this laptop from getting 5* are the lack of dedicated page up/down keys, 8GB RAM instead of 16 (especially since you cannot add memory to this model) and the 256GB hard drive--but if I really wanted to I could have paid more for those options. If you can survive the next 4-5 years with a 256GB hard drive you should definitely consider buying this laptop. It is portable, functional and fun to use.

Daylight view is good and if you buy different mounting accessories there are plenty of ways to mount it. We fully charged our camera before a weeklong excursion out of the country and were able to check in while on vacation without the camera dying. We have it set on "auto" mode which helps conserve battery and activates with motion. The website to see our camera or create our "daily brief" was at time slow or would not load at all without 2 or 3 refresh attempts of the browser. The night vision is average but the day vision is very clear and bright. This is my first security camera and it meets my needs of simply security at the front door but reporting to the phone isn't instantaneous. For example, if the UPS guy knocks on the door he is already gone before my phone alerts that someone was in the front yard. But again, if your needs are simple and more "curiosity" and video documentation than instant notification this model will suffice and provide beautify daytime video/images and average night quality.

Best I Have Owned

It took 5 failed attempts at mid-cost bluetooth in-ear earbuds (including other model Under Armour/JBL sport buds) before I finally found a pair of buds I that made me happy.
My experience has been that if the earbuds don't fit well and reach relatively deep into the ear canal, audio quality will suffer. That being said, the JBL Everest 110 fits my ears extremely well and they stay put.
I listen mostly to 90s and modern alt, sprinkling in some classic rock, pop and hip-hop when the mood strikes. These buds cover those ranges well. Granted, you don't get chest-thumping bass with these (or any) earbuds but when properly seated, these reproduce bass fairly well.
The volume on these buds is also better than average. They can get plenty loud and drown out ambient noise fairly well (although they are not "noise canceling"--step up to the Everest Elite if you need noise canceling).
Battery life matches the 8hr use, 2hr charge times listed on the website.
I was told people could hear me just fine when using the earbuds in a phone call...and I could hear them just fine but I was in a relatively quiet environment so I cannot really speak to how effective the mic is while driving down the road or walking the streets of a big city.
It would be nice if JBL would throw in a simple carrying case for the extra buds and charging cord. Everyone else does.
Keep in mind earbuds fit everyone differently, but when properly seated, these are the best all-around, mid-priced bluetooth earbuds I have owned to date.

Comfortable with Good Quality Sound

For me there are two things to consider when buying earbuds: fit and sound quality. I have had several other bluetooth earbuds in the Epic2 price range and this is the first pair that both fit consistently well and provided decent all around sound quality.
The wrap around memory coil can be bent to fit your outer ear to help hold the bud in place. With a wide selection of soft rubber fittings, you should have no problem finding the proper fit for your ear canal. Once seated, outside noise is held to a minimum however these are not noise canceling headphones.
While I have not put these buds through an extensive workout, I have worn them outdoors on a brief jog where they held up well while sweating. Like any bud, if you take them in and out while sweaty it can be a bit difficult to get them to stay put, but the memory coil helps with that. They definitely won't pop all the way out while exercising unlike some earbuds.
I did have to go online to figure out how to pair these buds with my phone as it was not as intuitive as some other brands but once I figured out the pairing I was satisfied with the product.

Impressive Volume

Owning several small bluetooth speakers, I was looking to get my hands on something suitable for the basement, garage or backyard. The Nyne X-Series Rock fits that bill perfectly.
In many ways, the Nyne replaces to old boom box I used to carry on my shoulder as I rolled down the street on my banana seat bike in the 1980s. It is powerful, portable, and at 12 lbs, light enough to hoist on your shoulder so you can look cool.
But seriously, this speaker delivers louder than average volume and better than average bass. (You are never going to get high end bass out of an all-purpose portable bluetooth speaker, but this model performs better than most I have listened to.) Volume is where this speaker excels.
Audio quality is a bit better than average for a portable bluetooth speaker at virtually any volume. I do wish the internal positioning of the speakers was a bit different as I felt like I was losing some sound to the ground when I set it in the yard as compared to placing it on a shelf in the garage. Using it on a hard, flat, elevated surface is best at lower volumes.
I cannot vouch for the call answering feature as no one has called while I have had the speaker on. Nor can I vouch for battery life at this point as I am a "usually keep it plugged in" listener. Rated for "up to 12 hours," I am guessing that assumes a very low volume. Cranking it up to "11" requires more power to drive the speakers and therefore reduces battery life, so my guess is more like 8 hours for that backyard bbq or pool party.
The thoughtful design provides a nice handle grip with a good center of gravity. There are also two loops where you could hook a strap on the front if you want. The Nyne X-Series Rock claims to be water resistant but don't assume you can float it in a pool. A brief shower, a spray with the hose, or spilled beer is what they mean by water resistant. I do wish there was a built-in waterproof "pocket" to slip your phone, keys and wallet into.
As for features, I love the NFC enabled pairing. My cell phone already has 20 remembered bluetooth devices with horrible names. With the Nyne X-Series Rock I don't need to select and pair the devices--I simply hold my NFC enabled phone up to the speaker and within a second the speaker powers on and connects automatically.
The back has a water-tight access panel to the power input, USB power source (for charging), AUX-IN port and AUX-OUT (for daisy-chaining additional speakers according to the manufacturer). The AC power adapter comes with 4 different connectors to meet your country's standards, which is a nice bonus. In addition to the owner's manual, you also get a 3.5mm cable.
I am really impressed and satisfied with this speaker. It gives me the volume smaller portable units lack. The design is thoughtful and the speaker is lightweight. Overall audio quality is good which matches with "four-stars" for this review. I'd really prefer to give 4.5 stars. If they could match the audio quality of the high-end (and high-priced) manufacturers they would easily have a 5-star product with this model.

Makes a good cup o' joe

Above all else, this unit makes a decent cup of drip coffee.
That being said, you can find lots of other less expensive coffee makers that also make a good cup of coffee--but not with an expresso/cappuccion/latte option.

I haven't quite mastered the fancy drinks and find it frustrating the water flow doesn't stop automatically for an expresso or other individual drinks. The expresso does have a nice froth to it though--but again, you need to know when to stop the machine. I was very happy with milk frothing too. Also, the expresso side has its own water reservoir separate from the drip side.
Staying on the left side, it is also a bit confusing what button to push or lever to throw to differentiate between water out of the steam spout, or steam out of the spout, or coffee out of the expresso dispenser. For those who reject using the instructions (like me), you will inevitably spray hot water or steam on your countertop at least once. As for the instructions, once I caved and opened them I found them a bit confusing.
On the drip side, I don't like the design of the carafe (I keep getting drips and spills when pouring if I don't pay close attention or pour too fast). I am also not a fan of the "add water chute" integrated with the coffee basket. A slight slip of the hand an you have grounds in the clean water. Plus you have to swing the basket open to add water/coffee which means you need to keep 5" of space clear on the right side of this coffee maker. It can also be difficult to read the water level indicator on the drip side as the open coffee basket/water chute casts a shadow over the water level markings on the coffee maker. There is an auto feature for those who want their coffee made before they wake up as well as a 1-4 cups feature that supposedly will make a better "small pot."
Cannot yet speak to the longevity of the DeLonghi which one would hope is above average given the cost.
Nonetheless, the device yields a good cup of coffee and I am sure with practice good expressos and lattes. No problems with the performance but some issues with elements of design and functionality as well as the instruction manual. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a 2-in-1 that makes expressos (rather than K-cups) and drip coffee.

Let me start with the midrange audio quality is good making these wire-free in-ear Bluetooth buds fine for listening to a phone conversation. Let it be noted, however, that calls are NOT in stereo--only the left ear works for phone calls. Users reported they could hear me, but they also said it was obvious I was on a hands free device.
As for music, which is my primary concern when using earbuds, there is little depth to the sound and the max volume level is lacking. If you shove the bud deep in your ear you get some bass, but keeping them seated in the ear canal can be a challenge. Volume can only be controlled by your paired device (i.e. phone), there is no onboard volume control on these earbuds.
Because the earbud is basically also one big button, I find myself inadvertently clicking the button when readjusting the buds in my ear.
If you sweat, these are not the buds for you. I had them unboxed for less than 30 minutes and lost one gardening. It slipped out without warning. (Eventually I found it and decided to pocket both so as not to lose them again.) Now I find myself pushing them back in every 5 minutes.
I was getting frequent disconnects while moving. I was streaming music via wifi (full signal strength) with the phone in my pocket. Moving up and down while gardening the music kept cutting out like a short in a pair of wired headphones. Sitting at the office with the phone on my desk the buds and the random disconnects disappear.
3 hour battery life is unimpressive, and I am not sure what they mean by 7.2hrs in neckband because you can't have the buds in your ear and in the neckband at the same time.
If you lose the left ear (master) you done. The right ear won't work without the left...but the left will work without the right.
As for the app, I hate needing an app to make a device work. The app basically shows the battery life on each ear, gives you an "EQ" that is nothing more than 3 choices: "BASS, NORMAL, TREBLE," and lets you turn off/on various notification settings. The "owners manual" is also on the app letting you know that a 2-second press activates voice dialing and a double-press skips to next song.
I am unimpressed.

Great Product

The Bissell SpinWave is great. No other description is really needed. With two different sets of washing pads (one terry cloth, one terry with scratchy scrubby fabric woven in), you can pick the right pads for the job.
The SpinWave is fairly weighted well enough to keep solid contact with the floor. It is also relatively easy to control.
The solution sprays out an even, appropriate amount of solution with the push of a button on the handle. (Only complaint about the solution spray button is that it is right next to the on/off button and I found myself shutting the SpinWave off multiple times during my first use.)
The pads absorb a fair amount of dirt and liquid. They was clean in the washing machine and trap dirt and hair well, but you still need to dry sweep the floors before using the SpinWave otherwise hard particles of dirt or dust bunnies will just get flung around on your floor by the spinning pads. The only thing that would make the SpinWave better would be a suction or beater brush function to suck up particles of dirt that don't stick to the pads.
The floor dried in a reasonable amount of time--about as long as a sponge mop or washing by hand with a bucket. I found the solution container to store an adequate amount of solution to get the job done. We also let the SpinWave sit overnight with the solution bottle full, to test if it leaks or not. Ours did not, so if you forget to empty the bottle before you put the SpinWave away, you are probably ok.
The SpinWave is fairly quiet and saved me time (and back pain) and left me with clean floors. I definitely recommend the product. Very satisfied after first few uses.

Good Sound For A Portable Device

The Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM is a smart, low-cost, better-than-average sounding speaker perfect for connecting when you want bigger sound than what comes out of your laptop/phone/tablet speakers. Approximately the size and weight of a soup can (but shaped a little more like a softball), the UE WONDERBOOM pushes decent quality, crisp sound and volume for the price. As with any portable bluetooth speaker, bass isn't insanely deep but the UE WONDERBOOM does a better job hitting the low end than many other entry-level bluetooth speakers with minimal distortion. The "360" sound makes it feel "bigger" than it really is.
As for the UE WONDERBOOM design, it has a loop to help you hook it up virtually anywhere. We did not float it in a pool but we did use it in a wet environment where it was sprayed with water. It is a nice fit in the kitchen, bathroom, home office, or back patio. It is weighted well so that it won't easily get knocked over.
Functionally, there are very few buttons to worry about on this unit. Buttons are obvious and rubberized. There is an on/off button and pairing button on the top, and a +/- button on the side. On/Off play a different tune to let you know when you are on/off/connected/disconnected.
I never walked more than 50' away with my paired cell phone but I had no problem staying connected as I moved through rooms of my house.
The device charges via a standard micro-USB port for up to 10 hours according to the manufacturer. It seems to charge relatively quickly but there doesn't appear to be an indicator to let you know how fully charged it is. There isn't a headphone option on this model which may be a drawback for some users. Nor can you give the device direct voice commands. You can, however, pair the device with another WONDERBOOM to "double your sound" according to the manufacturer.
"Musical ecstasy" (as suggested by UE) is a bit of a stretch, nonetheless, the sound, power and longevity is above average and is worth a listen.

This Vacuum Sucks...Real Well

Like most, I don't buy a new vacuum every day, nor do I buy $500 vacuums, however, I was not displeased by the suction of this Shark Lift-Away. We were replacing a 10yr old upright "cyclonic bagless" designed for pet owners that worked very well when we owned a cat. The cat is no longer with us and the old vacuum has continued to vacuum our carpets for the last 18+ months to our satisfaction. Imagine our surprise when we found the Shark was finding cat hair!
I have no qualms about the sucking power of this vacuum. Additionally, it is a tad bit quieter than my previous bagless. It was easy and quick to assemble with no tools required. There are ample tools and ways to use this vacuum (roll it, carry it, use a giant wand, etc.). It also works better than my old upright getting under furniture assuming I separate the canister. It has 3 adjustments for carpet height/bare floor. The filters are easy to get to, and the canister is easy to separate from the unit and empty (either from the top or bottom of the receptacle). There is an extra soft brush on the front of the roller assembly that supposedly helps grab big chunks and prevent "flinging" from the standard roller when used on a wood or vinyl surface. It seems to provide that benefit in our limited use on wood floors so far. My wife is fond of the "short wand" option and likes the swivel maneuvering. She finds the grip more comfortable than older vacuums.
However, there are a couple of design flaws in my opinion. First, I couldn't find the clip for the cord when vacuuming. I had to look at the manual to find the hook to keep from running over the cord. Second, this is our first swivel vacuum and I found it to be weighted awkwardly with the canister attached. With the canister attached it was also a bit difficult to maneuver on thicker carpet--so this could be a challenge for an elderly owner or someone with limited arm/wrist strength. Third, the brush rolls are not very wide. I don't know the exact measurement, but they are easily 2" shorter (if not 4") in width from what I am used to which translates into more pushing across the carpet. Finally, with all the different usage options, you need to make sure everything is snapped into place snugly or you'll be pulling out handles and tubes will be falling off. They don't just "fall out on their own" but we thought we had it all hooked back up and realized when we were done the wand wasn't properly attached.
Again, very good suction for the price. Lots of useful attachments. Works well across multiple floor types. A little awkward to maneuver at first and could be a bit tricky for the elderly to handle. The optional caddy for "cannister style" would solve that issue for anyone who finds it difficult to control this vacuum.

Impossible to determine because of the features you set on the phone that control how often the camera/sensors are active, how many times the doorbell is triggered in a month, and temperature. The general consensus is about 2.5 to 3 months. However, once mounted, the "quick release" tool makes it easy to disconnect and charge the doorbell...and charging was fairly fast using my phone's charger.

what is the difference of an HD webcam that is 1080p and the C505 at 720p. what is the main difference between the C505 HD & the C270 HD
720p is technically "lesser resolution" but it is still a high definition (HD) class of camera. 1080 offers better resolution if all other factors are equal (i.e. lens quality, lighting, recipient screen, streaming quality...and an app that can support 1080). My experience is that when in a standard video call, lighting/focus/microphone are more important than 720 v. 1080.
I have not compared the C505 and the C270 directly, however, the key feature with the C505 is the "long range omni-directional microphone." I can attest to clarity when more than 1-3 feet from the camera. I tend to pace in my office when on a video call. The microphone picked me up very well no matter were I stood--even if I was behind the webcam. You also get 2 extra feet of USB cable with the c505.

No. Or if it does, I have not discovered how to do it. And you pay $5/mo for their cloud storage.

No, just sprays fresh solution and the cloth pads absorb much like a rag or sponge.

It comes with a pair of terry pads and a pair of terry w/ a scrubbing strip pads. So additional scrub/bristle attachments.
