La La Land is one of the best films of 2016. Its seamless combination of music and storytelling is reminiscent of classic musicals from the 50s and 60s. The performances are top-notch and the two leads have an unmistakable chemistry together (helped by their previous on-screen romance in Crazy, Stupid, Love.) Their characters are flawed, but that's what entices the viewer to join them on this emotional journey. The score and musical numbers are absolutely memorable, even after one viewing. City of Stars and Another Day of Sun are my personal favorites, but there are many others that are, not only fantastic songs in their own right, but combined with some potentially iconic scenes in the movie, paint a picture that's difficult to forget.
The cinematography is beautiful, the choreography is stunning, and the camerawork is breathtaking. And that's what La La Land is; breathtaking. No, it's not perfect, as the film does peak towards the middle and the second half re-uses music and ideas from the first half, and personally I found there to be a couple of questionable casting choices, but those are minor nitpicks in what is otherwise a miracle production. I am very thankful that, in a world where superhero films and action blockbusters rake in the most dough, there are still producers out there willing to fund risky projects that can either fall and be forgotten, or rise and become instant classics. La La Land is fire. See it.
Hearing the singles leading up to Joey's second full length album, I was a bit confused as to what direction he was going, but was still curious to see what he was working on. The final product is an album with strong lyrics and a purpose. Joey is able to effectivly convey his purpose while not shoving it in your face. The best example of this is the track "MISS AMERIKKKA", which potrays the U.S. as an mentally abusive partner. This was a unique way to deliver his message, however there were spme moments of the album where the message was not so subliminal. I did not care for the direct name drops of Donald Trump. It is the same message that I am constantly hearing and I get it. I got it during the primaries and the weeks following the election. Because of the name drops, I am not sure how well those songs will stand the test of time. Nonetheless, I was definitely pleased with the album and would recommend it to any hip-hop fan that is looking for a good lyrical album

I've got a thing for spy comedies, I've seen most of the recent ones and many of the older ones. It's a genre so based on plot twists that most of them can be seen a mile away, especially if you've already seen some. This one is no different. No real plot twist is really surprising, including the final joke. And still, I had loads of fun watching it, because most of the jokes are actually character driven, and the characters are very well written, and well performed by most. That is, Isla Fisher, Zach Galifianakis and Jon Hamm, are practically super. Gal Gadot got the warrior woman with the menacing looks nailed to the teeth, but is a bit less convincing when she has to be sensitive or subtle. It doesn't happen often during the movie, so it's not a big issue, but there are a few moments in which she's off character. But everybody else around does such a good job, the jokes work, and the pace is fast enough for us not to care it's not so very surprising.
I liked it, most of the people around me in the cinema liked it too. If you don't expect a masterpiece, just plain simple fun - you'll find it here

What makes a thriller good? It's the suspense, the nail-biting, tense situations the film presents that have the audience at the edge of their seats at all times. And I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that this film delivers just that. Whenever you feel like the scene is over, and that you have some breathing room, BOOM! Fede drops the characters in a much worse predicament, with the excellent and diverse score by Roque Baños pounding in the background. The score of the film elevates each scene and as the film progresses, the movie raises the bar and ups the ante with each passing moment. Once the characters enter the house, the film always has you in a vice grip and never lets go. It makes you feel what the characters are feeling; their dread, their helplessness; and that is a testament to how great a director, Fede is
