Is too much of a good thing wrong? If you feel that way, (and didn't like "Taken"), you will want to avoid Taken 2. This film is more or an extension of the first film than a sequel. A similar plot line exists (bad guys torture Neeson and his family and then feel his wrath in the end). Now, in my case, I wasn't bothered by the similarities at all because I enjoyed the first film and really enjoy seeing bad guys get their butts kicked. Neeson is a likeable, and somewhat flawed hero, which makes him and endearing character.
There's plenty of action in the film and Famke Janssen, too! There are limited extras on the DVD, but the film should be enough to carry the mail for most viewers.

If you're a fan of the Die Hard series, you'll probably want to add this film to your collection. If you're new to the series you may not find much to like here. Oh, there's plenty of action, lots of CGI, and interesting cinematography, but the plot and acting leave a lot to be desired. In this film, Bruce Willis' character reunites with his son (a government operative) in Russia and they end up trying to save the world from a nuclear disaster.
The film doesn't have the humor or any of the endearing qualities of the earlier and attempts to make its mark with the audience through helicopter and car crashes. It certainly lacks inspiration, but will provide most viewers with about a 100 minutes of escapism.

I really have enjoyed this film over the years and was happy to be able to add it to my DVD collection recently. Billy Crystal is terrific as a man dealing with a mid-life conflict. Bruno Kirby is outstanding and likeable. Jack Palance steals the show, even though he doesn't get the screen time that Crystal, Kirby, and Daniel Stern receive. The cinematography is as wonderful and vivid as the story line is touching and memorable. The movie carries a great message without getting maudlin and drippy that should be appreciated by most viewers. With some reservations, it a great family movie. Highly recommended!

Unlike some of the reviews that I read dissing the movie, "The Monument Men", I must say that I enjoyed the film and thought it was worth my purchase. Often times, I evaluate a DVD purchase on whether I will ever watch it again. I will watch this movie again. As expected, actor/director George Clooney is a solid lead. As always, I enjoyed John Goodman and Bill Murray and, even though it's kind of a throwaway role, I thought Matt Damon did a nice job with his character. One of the true stars, however, was the little-known (at least to me) British actor Hugh Bonneville who was a nice surprise. Based on actual events, war movie fans should find plenty to like in "The Monument Men".

Unstoppable is a story loosely-based on an actual event that took place in Ohio in 2001 involving a runaway locomotive. Denzel Washington and Chris Pine give engaging, if not spectacular, performances as the engineer and conductor who help save the day. Tony Scott's direction (his last film before his suicide, by the way) is solid and workmanlike. The film has a documentary feel too it without losing any of it's appeal. As the runaway picks up speed so does the film. Viewers will find the movie engrossing and hard to "stop" watching. There are a few DVD extras with the disk, but not appealing enough to add much to the purchase.

"Con Air" is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm not proud, but I can no longer hide. I simply enjoy the movie. It's a good character-driven movie that is heavy on special effects and bad guys. John Malkovich is outstanding as convict leader, Cyrus the Virus. Nicholas Cage is the convict on his way home to his wife and little girl, but ends up attempting to ground the highjacking convicts. Steve Buscemi practically steals the movie as a "Hannibal Lecter" type character. It's mindless fun, so disengage your brain, sit back with some popcorn and a cool drink and check out "Con Air".

Familiar formula works again for Neeson

Liam Neeson took the successful formula found in 2009's, "Taken", and rides it throughout a fairly well-acted, sharply filmed, action-fest called, "Unknown". In this film, Neeson's character's identity is taken after he has a serious car crash and loses his memory. As he slowly puts the pieces of his life back together again, he starts to see why his name was stolen and kicks serious butt along the way to reclaim it. If you liked "Taken" or are just a Neeson fan, you'll enjoy, "Unknown".

SanDisk's 16MB memory card is a reliable way to add portable memory to any applicable device at a decent price (especially if you can get it on sale at Best Buy, like I did). The card is small (like all memory cards) but carries a nice payload for extra pictures. I've had it for a few weeks now and it's reliable and easy to use. No problems.

MASH is a movie that most moviegoers will appreciate because of its timeless appeal. It's an original story that carried over to an enormously popular television series. By now, most will know that the film covers the trials and tribulations of the doctors and nurses in a mobile surgical hospital operating in the Korean War.
The cast is great and the storyline entertaining enough to hold the attention of a new generation of viewers of this 70s classic. A short nudity scene and a little surgical blood (plus the first time that the F-bomb was dropping in a feature film) are the only issues that make this a film for adults and not the whole family.

Fans of '80s horror movies will enjoy this homage to alien & zombie movies of that era. Making fun of itself as much as it does the films of this decade, "Night of the Creeps" will be a treat for those who enjoyed the horror and alien flicks of the ''50s through the '80s. Most of the actors are not household names with the exception of actor hero, Tom Adkins. Adkins adds a lot to the film's "less-than-serious" attitude about itself.
Production values are not great, but the cheesy aliens and skimpy zombies don't take away from a fun experience.
So grab the popcorn, turn down the lights, suspend your disbelieve, and relive the genre'.
