Excellent All-in-One Solution for Vacuuming
on May 25, 2022
Posted by: nkpstudios
The LG CordZero All-In-One vacuum with storage tower is an excellent representation of what vacuums should become for the home user. This LG creation breaks away from the land of stick vacuum clones by offering a system not found anywhere else. An all-in-one, self-contained self-emptying charging station hides the messy side of vacuuming. This cleaning system competes in the elite top tier of vacuums against the granddaddy cyclone vacuum and other primetime names in cordless stick vacuums space. The beautifully designed stand/tower creates a place for everything, so attachments are neatly placed and visible in a stand that automatically charges and cleans the vacuum. Hence, it is ready when you need it to be. No more looking for attachments or where you left the spare battery. It is all in one tower for you. There is just a simple and well-thought-out execution missing from other brands.

Unboxing and Setup
Everything was well packed and secure - straightforward and intuitive to set up. Remove everything from the box, and you will see how everything fits together once you put the stand on the floor. I want to mention that it was a pretty heavy box at around 50lbs - for some, this may be a team lift, so plan accordingly. Once you place your stand, but all the accessories inside the tower and admire your work. Everything looks so lovely in that corner now, doesn't it!?!? This has smart connectivity, but I chose not to use it after it only supports 2.4GHz networks… REALLY? We are in 2022, and we still only support 2.4GHZ WiFi?

Performance and Differentiators
The most wonderful feature here on this vacuum is the simple use of an on/off switch. No more holding a trigger - press once, and you are good to go until you are finished. The inclusion of the electric mop is nice and offers added value and cleaning power for your arsenal. LG is changing the game here rather than copying the granddaddy of vacuums. The telescoping wand allows reconfiguration to compensate for differences in cleaning areas and user heights. The spare battery lives in a charging station just under the lid that you can quickly remove if necessary. The electric mop offers a floor scrubbing solution but isn't complete because it can't vacuum up like a dedicated electric mop to leave your floor streak-free. This is meant to be an agitator and doesn't suck up dirty water from the floor. Think a Swiffer with motorized scrubbers and then an air-dry with what's left on the surface.

Build Quality and Battery Life
The LG CordlessZero has just an okay build, almost entirely plastic build with beautiful minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing stand that will blend into any decor. I worry for those who drop their vacuum a lot of bang into things with all the plastic here. The attachments are all plastic, with the electric mop having metal. Now let's talk battery life here. I tested on the carpet with carpet head. I got about 35 mins on MEDIUM (+) power (probably could go a bit longer, but I finished. When set on TURBO and you get maybe 10 mins, and on NORMAL you get around an hour. I have never run out of battery yet during a cleaning session taking care of 3 levels with stairs and carpets in my 2500 sq ft place. Here are the specs straight from LG's website pertaining to the battery life for Normal (handy): 120min, Power (handy): 60min, Turbo (handy): 14min. With floor wand Normal (Stick): 80min, Power (Stick): 40min, Turbo (Stick): 12min.

Here is a quick list of my things that make this vacuum excellent and some things I wish were thought through again. Hopefully, these things can be addressed in future renditions.

Love
-On/Off switch - no more trigger pulling for long sessions.
-Portable power - it's great for auto cleaning and quick cleanups. I take it to the office to touch up the desk and take it home.
-Lightweight in the hand - you can clean for a while as fatigue is reduced due to design and weight.
-Kompressor button - being able to touch the stuff in the canister without touching it is nice.
-Tower Stand - completely self-contained in a minimalist stand. No need to wall mount a charger.
-2 Batteries - two batteries provided with one stored and charged so it is always ready for a swap.
-Quieter - it is quiet, but the performance suffers as well. Run this on medium for better cleaning, and it still is quiet compared to other vacuums I tried.
-3 step HEPA filtration - clean, breathable air for those with allergies and who don't like to empty the bin.

C'mon Man!
-2.4GHz WiFi Networks ONLY! - only supports 2.4GHz networks… REALLY? We are in 2022, and we only support 2.4GHZ WiFi?
-Power button placement - Often, you can press it by just walking around with it or placing it on the dock.
-Maintenance - with all the features, there is maintenance. You need to maintain filters in the tower, the self-emptying part, and the hand unit.
-Deep cleaning performance - things sometimes don't get sucked up in one pass with minimal improvement in TURBO mode. Larger cereal isn't easily vacuumed.
-TURBO mode activation - it takes FOREVER to activate. It feels longer than 3 seconds but sheesh!
-No AUTO suction mode - highly disappointing to a vacuum in this range
-No on-wand clip for attachments
-Battery indicator - no timer useful with remaining battery life. Old style 3 bar battery for you to guess from. Minutes left would be more valuable as the rest of the pack provides these days.
-Tiny Dust bin capacity - 300ml, which is 40% smaller than competitors
-Non-removable bin - You cannot separate the container from the handle to clean like competitors
-Exhaust position - while using, you will get exhaust in your face. Use this on your stairs or anywhere you have the vacuum below your face and enjoy a blast of hot air. I slightly angle the handle, and it helps a little.
-Plasticky build - everything from the tube to the vacuum itself and its accessories are plastic! I hope you aren't rough and bang into furniture or walls. After a few drops with the wand attached, I don't see this lasting.
-Battery life - isn't that great compared to others in the market, but you get two, so it is not as bad.
-Roller drags - compared to other vacuums used on carpet, the head has a significant drag and pressure when going through medium shag rugs. It often "digs" into the carpet, and you have to push to regain control.
-Loud in Turbo mode - like REALLY loud!

MUST BUY if you have USB-C device ecosystem!
on February 10, 2022
Posted by: nkpstudios
from In my Tech Lab, somewhere in Maryland
The j5create Screencast USB-C wireless display system is the easiest way to transmit a wireless video signal I have ever used. The fact I NO LONGER have to be tethered to a 6ft USB-C/HDMI cable is SO FREEING! Of course, there is a trade-off when I lose the 4K res of my phone/device content, but I am delighted with this value proposition @ 1080p60. FYI, mine had a firmware update I caught when I played later on in my advanced settings. You should check to ensure you are running the most recent software for a stable and reliable experience, but things worked flawlessly for me out of the box. I plugged everything in, and it just casts without effort. I did, however, unplug the dongle just to set up the display to receive wireless signals on my WiFi network, but it is not necessary. Follow on-screen instructions once the HDMI display shows the splash screen with configurations details. If you have no instant connection and see your dongle blinking, you will need to re-pair the two by inserting a pin into the hole of the USB/HDMI combo cable to enter pairing mode. Stack the two on top of each other, and it will re-pair.

The SETUP
To get started, plug in the USB-A to a power block and the other end into the HDMI display of your choice. Take the dongle and plug it into the USB-C device you want to cast your screen from; wait like 20 seconds, and it should just start mirroring. No software or network is needed; it's just plug and play. There are also more features you can enable with a wireless network, and it also has an option you can enable to mimic a Chromecast. If you connect to the actual cable through its network, you can do some deeper configuring! **Warning: You will need some IT skills and understanding of networking to set up. This is on the same level as some routers, but you can do it!** After enabling Chromecast functionality, I can cast to it like a streaming device, which is really nice. This system is something everyone should have as it has multiple uses.
The MANY USES
At work, I use it for presentations in clients' meeting space using their screens and tech they are comfortable with. I mirror my laptop wirelessly to my second monitor, so there is no need for a docking station or dongle to add a secondary display. At home, this will make any old TV useful again as you can cast whatever content you want so your kids can watch. No need to buy a box or streaming device when you can use your phone or tablet! Parent, you can use this to cast your kids' favorite media on an older TV without wireless display tech to end the "I can't see" arguments! When I travel, I like to use it to take over the hotel TV and avoid that whole system of "on-demand" and touching the nasty remote too much. College students will like this, too, as it can provide additional functionality to a display they may use for school or gaming so they can watch it and not have to "hold" their phone screen. Devices with USB-C like Windows PCs and laptops, newer iPads with USB-C, and Android phones are now your portable streaming sticks with this setup! As you can see, there is something here for everyone!

WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE?
Anytime you want to share something, use this to cast media! It seamlessly streams up to 1080p60, so it isn't made to satisfy the 4K pixel peepers; this is all about function and value in the 1080p HD wireless display space. It has an easy setup, no software or network required, HDCP 1.4 compliant so you can watch Netflix, Hulu, etc., and stream protected content. Mine worked and linked in maybe less than 15 seconds out of the box. I do want to mention it does get hot after periods of prolonged use and seems to be built to withstand moderate to peaks of heavy use. I have no issues with projection for me, and I love having the freedom to move around and not be tethered to a USB-C/HMDI cable I used in the past. For me, this is a BUY!

The ALMOST Perfect FPS Wireless Gaming Mouse
on February 2, 2022
Posted by: nkpstudios
from In A Tree House on Wifi
The Corsair M65 RGB Ultra wireless gaming mouse has been reborn as a more refined and prolific version of itself. In my opinion, this is one of the best mouse designs for both work and play. This is the first gaming mouse I have seen that has both RF and Bluetooth in a single device available at the flip of a switch. I can switch between a laptop for work and my preferred battle station effortlessly. Connectivity is available through the USB dongle using 2.4GHz or you can go Bluetooth with the flip of the switch. There are 3 weights you can install to make it yours. Overall, this is a very nice package with beautiful RGB lighting in the logo and plenty of customization using Corsair's acclaimed iCue software. In order to get the most out of this mouse, you MUST use the iCUE software to make it yours otherwise, you just have a really cool basic mouse.
The M65 RGB Ultra Wireless is an excellent mouse for FPS or claw grip users. Everything is just in the right place for me, and it is just a beautiful mouse. The plastic is covered in a soft rubberized coating that is very nice to the touch but is a fingerprint magnet. During play, while on the RF connection, there was no noticeable lag due to combination of Omron optical switches and Axon processing. When on Bluetooth, it wasn't terrible, but I could notice it wasn't as fast. The overall mouse size feels a bit small for the palm grip I use at work, but it's manageable. The anodized aluminum frame gives it the build quality needed without sacrificing weight and bulk. The thumb rest has a nice pattern of triangles that looks great and offers a nice grip. The USB receiver is housed in the "right wing" underneath the mouse which is good to keep things together. Now for the specs:
Specs
Hyper-fast SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS
26,000 DPI Marksman Optical Sensor
8 programable buttons
Omron Optical switches
Claw grip
Battery life 2.4GHz SLIPSTREAM: Up to 90hrs continuous use BLUETOOTH: Up to 120hrs continuous use
Selectable 2000Hz/1000Hz/500Hz/250Hz/125Hz polling rates
The M65RGBUW is a great all-around package for me but it isn't perfect. I wish the scroll wheel had L/R tilt buttons and a free scrolling/click mode. If the mouse was slightly elongated, it would fill the palm better to accommodate the more comfortable palm grip for times of work and productivity. I wish the included USB cable was braided but it is still a high-quality cable. I absolutely love the inclusion of the gestures to incorporate tilts. This will take some getting used to, but I mapped it to reloading, throwing 'nades, and macros to type in chat which was pretty cool! Using Bluetooth, you can get up to 120 hours of continuous use (however I have not verified). The RGB is accurate and beautifully syncs with my other iCue compatible gear for a perfect symphony of lights, however, at lower levels there are some dark spots you can see. In all, you will not be disappointed however the price is a bit hit in my opinion.

Awkward to use at times, but effective
on January 6, 2022
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
The Waterpik Revive is another way to attack the most annoying suggestion you hear from your hygienist - FLOSS MORE! I floss a lot, and still, I am told the same thing. Having a battery-operated water flosser is nice to have in between brushings. I enjoy seeing all the food stuck between my teeth come out when I rinse my mouth. Having the option to floss with water is much better for me as it reduces the irritation and cuts that sometimes occur when I floss too hard. This device is well built out of plastic, and it is a bit too big to be portable, but it does an excellent job with a few caveats which could be improved upon. It can be a bit loud, so be aware that you could wake others up in some cases if you are an early riser.

Setup is quick and easy. Open the bottom, put batteries, and remember to use petroleum jelly on the seal around the battery compartment door to ensure the seal stays protected. I can foresee the ring style of the lock being tricky for some, but you will learn how to close it reasonably quickly. Also, consider the angle before locking the tip when water starts flowing and try to have it spray at the gumline. There are two accessible pressure settings to toggle between, which is nice for stubborn areas.
My wife and I agreed it was a bit awkward to use without issues with water flow, and the straw isn't drawing water. We are used to the swivel joint and twisting the head to angle the water just right. It took me some adjusting and turning off the head to keep things steady. Maybe 30 secs of water before you are out, and it goes pretty quick. Be ready to do it twice if you are like me. I do one tank for the top teeth and one for the bottom.

Improvements
Add battery gauge - there is no way to know how much battery remains, so have a spare pair nearby should they go out. There is no warning of low battery or light to see.
Add articulating joint - flexibility to twist to adjust the head is kept for keeping the handle steady, drawing water.
Add temp flow control - temporarily stop water using pressure switch like in-home units would be nice. Stop water flow without stopping the pump at the press of a button.

Overall if you are trying to water floss in an already crowded bathroom outlet situation, this should be strongly considered. You can use this for travel or a quick cleaning after a meal. I like this and will keep using this as a quick cleaning and still floss to ensure I get between my teeth with dental floss. A buy, but I would like a better version with improvements as the "Ultra" version.

FINALLY Smartglasses that look like Sunglasses
on December 17, 2021
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
Come to the Darkside with Lucyd Lyte! These glasses are a step in the right direction for an industry ripe for innovation. These are for you if you are an early adopter and like to have new tech. The eyewear industry should take notes and improve smart frames starting with this form factor. FINALLY, a company produced STYLISH smart glasses that look like sunglasses! There isn’t a weird frame to wear with unusually thick or weird-shaped arms; everything looks good and is designed well. In short, my Raybans have been retired and maybe for a while. Don’t even get me started about the cool folding case Lucyd provides!

After unboxing, you will get a soft sleeve case, hard collapsable case, charger, and glasses… yes, they provide a CHARGING BLOCK! Press the two buttons until you hear power on, look for Lucyd Lyte in Bluetooth settings to connect, and that’s it. I have the Red/Gold mirror lenses, and they are FIRE! There is nothing like walking in the park and listening to a book or music WHILE STILL hearing the world around me without earbuds! THESE ARE NOT going to REPLACE earbuds but instead offer another option to those who may not like having something in their ears or like to have cool tech to talk about. Again I say - these are NOT earbud replacements. However, these ARE another option! I will review these as two things - sunglasses and Bluetooth speakers.

As Sunglasses
As sunglasses, these are built solid and flexible. They offer quality Polarized UV400 protection, which allows me to see the world through hi-def vivid lenses while protecting my eyes from harmful UV and glare-free glass and water. I think the lenses are plastic, but I cannot be sure. Colors pop, and things look clean! Both reflections and glare are eliminated almost entirely depending on the angle you look at things. These are just so cool, and I like having them in my wardrobe.
My Raybans have been on the bench since these have entered the picture; that’s saying SOMETHING! The optics are that good, and the extra functionality built-in the frames will make you grab these every time! The customizability is endless, and ease of use when changing lenses makes these a no-brainer. You can even get prescription lenses with transitions to make these your daily drivers! The frame is strong, light, and flexible to withstand falling asleep in them every once in a while. You don’t need to charge these for them to be sunglasses! HA!
As Bluetooth
As a Bluetooth device, the best way to describe my experience with wearing these glasses is to remember the sound of small low speakerphones next to BOTH ears. The Bluetooth range is exceptional and never dropped or had connectivity issues. The sound is tiny and not all sounds are accurately reproduced. I love having the ability to listen without having to remember earbuds because I DO NOT forget my shades when I am leaving. You will not feel as connected to the music, but you can enjoy yourself. I recommend audiobooks, podcasts, and some music when in a pinch, but I still find myself grabbing earbuds when I want to jam out! Lows and mids are almost nonexistent in an accurate representation and often reproduced as annoying clicks and taps.
One thing to remember is people can hear what you are listening to and can hear conversation depending on how close you are - just like when you talk on your cell. Due to the design and method of sound delivery, it will not change, so don’t complain! I am sure the sound quality will improve as Lucyd makes newer glasses, but these are a cool. I hope Lucyd continues to evolve with better sound in time. The aesthetics are perfect, but the sound department needs to find a way to get better sound reproduction in lows and mids as you can only hear annoying pops and clicks in place of bass.

As a calling device, I describe the sound like a small speakerphone for both ears with excellent battery life. I make it through one day outside, listening to music and podcasts, or a little over two days at work. My callers said they didn’t even know I was talking on Bluetooth but mentioned background noise. I don’t see many mics to use for noise canceling, but it shines replicating voices, and you can hear them clearly. My favorite uses are phone calls and listening to audiobooks and podcasts. Using the buttons to interact with the glasses isn’t pleasing to the touch and feels like a little pen tip when you press them. As a result, I chose to use my phone for the controls. Having glasses on my face with a mic means using more Voice Commands while getting fewer errors because the mic is closer to your face. Below is a shortlist for you to consider.

NOT SO GREAT
Buttons are too pointy and uncomfortable
Pairing to only one device
No App or way to update firmware
Charging connectors are annoying and pop off with little movement
Glasses or plastic lenses? My guess is plastic but not where it is clearly stated.

PROS
+Battery life - easily made it through 2.5 days of work (approx. 3hrs talking daily)
+Easier to use Voice Commands
+Foldable case
+Look like Sunglasses
+Solid build
+Auto Off after 5 mins. with no connection

WISH LIST
App
Better sound
Customizable button functions
Swipe/tap functionality in addition to a button
Add dedicated voice assistant button
Multi-Device Simultaneous Connections

VERDICT
Get them if you are looking for Raybans or any other sunglasses in the sub $200 range. They are excellent sunglasses that happen to have speakers and allow you to take calls… much like a smartwatch upgraded a device that used just to tell time. I can’t wait to see where tech goes next with the eyewear category. Remember these are not going to replace a Bluetooth IN-EAR device so remember that too.

The ALMOST Do-It-All PA/Speaker System
on December 13, 2021
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
I LOVE this Bose S1 PRO! It is a 150W PA Speaker with a three-channel mixer and 35mm mount. It features two combo XLRs w/ 1/4" jack and 3.5mm or BT 5.0 as 3rd input. A line out links to another speaker or mixer. An onboard accelerometer auto EQs the S1 Pro based on the speaker orientation in one of 4 positions: on the ground, on its side, tilted back, or elevated. You can hear the differences, especially regarding the bass EQ in all positions. The Bose Connect app brings smart connectivity and ease of use for streaming. I am trying to find a battery to make it portable, but I will need to wait with supply problems. This thing is the truth for its size and the sound it produces; the sound stage is simply magic using the angles speakers in the array.

Specs
150W Speaker
Two combo XLR - ¼" inputs
3.5 mm input
Bluetooth input
¼" TRS line output FYI: Line Out is post-mix
Speaker:13" H x 9.5" W x 11.2" D (15.7 lbs)
NO PHANTOM POWER!

The S1 Pro is a versatile piece of kit for the traveling event professional or just someone looking to play an instrument or music for a party or small gathering. You can use it as a BlueTooth speaker, monitor for stage performance, PA system to announce and MC, or just a portable practice speaker that can turn into your performance on the drop of the speaker. The S1 Pro can provide sound for a Solo or Duo performances. Stream a track, play an instrument, and sing on the mic… perfect! It has ToneMatch, which works well when using a mic and a guitar. At church, this works well as the children's ministry speaker and is a quick way to practice before the actual sound equipment is set up. At home, I work on my acoustic guitar skills and stream music with ease. This speaker really morphs into whatever you need it to be.

Now let's talk sound! The speaker sounds great, from the lows to the highs! Everything is clear and well represented with the BOSE profile fans know and love. In my opinion, there is bass, but it sounds small (as it should), which is why I yearn to buy something else or have the option to add a subwoofer separately, which is not currently an available option. There isn't nearly enough bass, and there is no ability to adjust on the fly.

I wish there were a wireless subwoofer to fill in the lows I am yearning for. Why isn't there a tone match jack for Bose mixer? Yes, vocal and guitar work fine, but it would be nice to have it on every input. What if we want to connect something else via BlueTooth? The sound is excellent from this speaker, and the size is perfect for a well-built package; the S1 Pro will last for years to come.

Pros
+Can play Duo or Solo
+Impressive size-to-performance ratio
+Clarity is excellent and crisp throughout mids and highs

Cons
-Lacks a bit in the bass department but punches above its weight class for soundstage.
-No EQ Knobs or ToneMatch on AUX/BT
-Dynamic mics only. Creativity can lead to a solution, but condenser mics are a no-go here.
-No Phantom Power (I have a 48V Phantom Power Supply w/ adapter and problem solved)
-Speaker specs are not listed. Details are hard to find regarding frequency range and response.

Wish List
=Would like to see USB ports to charge things possibly.
=Would want Master gain over all three inputs.
=More bass or a wireless Sub to add to this.

Radenso is bringing innovation to the otherwise antiquated space. Aside from an app or two with live updates, you still have to deal with old technology like RJ-11 and micro USB. We all know this is a traditionally slow development space, and it is refreshing to see true innovation and design upgrades. From the magnetic mount, including Bluetooth, increased memory, to the Nexus app with APIs, Radenso is pushing the envelope for us! We, the customer, win here! There is ABSOLUTELY nothing better than this all-around detector for the road warrior for this price point.

I have gone through many detectors, including the R3, R7, and 360c, to provide you with my current grasp of the current market offerings, and I was able to compare for myself. Side by side, the DS1 consistently beat out the others and, in many cases, by a looooong shot which is why I would hang the crown here for the sub $400 detectors. It's the best long-range performer on the market at the time of this review in 12/2021. This unit lacks LNAs, so I hope the following platform change could be the best radar yet. The Radenso DS1 is an excellent detector for anyone who wants to buy something once and know its quality.
The DS1 is built on the R3 platform, so you know it starts with a strong pedigree. It has GPS with auto lockouts to kill falses you pass often. The early stages of AI, but it works great. The single horn long-range detection is top tier, and it doesn't even have LNAs. New platforms are coming out with LNAs, which should increase performance, but this is ALREADY more than enough protection for the daily driver. The DS1 was better with BSM filtering on my road tests vs. R3 and R7, but there was just once that a Honda set it off, but it quickly disappeared. This does have K Knotchs, so it does an excellent job of BSM filtering and outperforms the R3 and R7 in that regard as well. Next, a quick overview of my experience with the Radenso DS1.

Best Features
+Nice big beautiful color OLED display
+Hello USB-C and BT 5.0, Bye RJ11
+GPS w/ Auto lockouts
+More memory for 16,500 Auto Lockouts, 5,000 Manual Lockouts, and 500 User Points
+Bluetooth 5.0 with app integration
+Radenso Nexus App will be updated making this radar better with time!
+Magnetic detachable mount
+Excellent range. THE LONG RANGE LEADER tested vs. R3, R7, 360c, V1gen2, and V1.
+1/4"-20 threaded mount for a wider variety of mounts and customizability.
+Stealth to radar detector detectors

Wish/Fix List
-No arrows because it is a single horn. I am asking for a bit much under $400, but that's ok - we will have it soon, I'm sure!
-Advanced Setup is involved. Using the Advanced Menu, customizability which is a strength is also a weakness. Options were often buried deep within submenus requiring lots of clicks. Use the app "Radenso Nexus" so you can avoid this, and you'll thank me later.
-Select an Authorized Vendor (or Radenso) to sell aftermarket adapter clips or provide 3D print files as an added bonus for buying! This will kill brand loyalty and make the switch easier. An instant revenue stream for your mount as well. You have a UNIVERSAL MOUNT if you can get 3D printing services :)
-Enable MRCD by default to save people who will expect protection out of the box.

Ideas and MUST DOs!
-MRCD = TURN THIS ON if you are SO LUCKY to have these in your state. I have them in my area, and it did not go off, which is REALLY bad. Neighborhood cameras were installed and not in the database of speed cameras, so this would be a bad thing to find out later.
-POWER = Create a self-powered unit by velcroing a power bank to the detector or dashboard and connecting it via any USB-C cords you already have somewhere laying around. This can free up a port/12V in your vehicle for something else.
-MOUNTS = You can use any 3rd party mounting system like GoPro or other creations utilizing the 1/4"-20 mount. This is great as it allows you to adapt the detector to your favorite mount you already have with aftermarket creations. There are 3D printer files available in forums online, which is pretty cool if you are so lucky to have one available. If you know how to work it, you can outsource the printing and ship it using the file.
-APP = Using the app "Radenso Nexus" for iOS and Android for configuration is the easiest method to save time and headache of missing something and going back using the buttons on the DS1. If you are having issues with Bluetooth connectivity and your DS1, check for updates IN APP for firmware updates. When I first started using this, I had problems staying connected on my Galaxy Z Fold 3. After using the updated app and updating the DS1 firmware, things work seamlessly when I open the app and link to Bluetooth. There is a Alert Log as well in app that I can't wait to see what it becomes. I would like to see it log GPS data with alerts to plot on a map :).

VERDICT
I RECOMMEND 100% to ANYONE who is willing to save them the cost of their first ticket (NOT INCLUDING insurance premium increases and a bad rep with your insurance company). This should be in everyone's windshield if you're in the market for radar detection. There are more expensive and newer technology platforms being developed now, but this is a tried and true platform with Radenso innovation that you will LOVE! Get one!

Included, is Webroot’s proprietary secure browser to run on-demand scans and browse safely, or download Webroot Web Threat Shield to be alerted of dangerous sites while browsing in Google Chrome. Security for Clickers
on December 1, 2021

In a world with malware and hackers trying to steal your intel, you must think worst-case scenario, even on something like a Chromebook. We all remember when iOS came out, and there were "NO viruses" on Mac... fast forward a few years, and EVERYONE is looking for the next attack, even checking for vulnerabilities in a smart light switch - and your cars can now be hacked! The Chromebook is known amongst the most secure types of computer you can buy, but it still stands that the user is the weakest link to any security system. This means you/me/we can install a fake app or click a bad link and compromise EVERYTHING on your device and expose sensitive data to the net, and that's where Webroot comes in. Webroot says they can secure your device, so let's give it a go!

First, like anything on Chrome/Google you must use either the Chrome Webstore or Play Store to install an app unless you are sideloading. Search for Webroot Security, install, create a login, add your license info, and it is activated and starts running instantly. This app runs in the background and comes with a secure browser as well. Installation and setup were a breeze! What happens next is what gets me searching for answers. Let's get into the actual product, which has me a bit baffled as to what it is doing and what it did.
Webroot is always on and does not hesitate to tell you that when you click SCAN NOW. It essentially states, "we are already working, but if you want to tell us to work, that's fine go ahead." Afterward, a little box shows the word SCANNING for a few seconds, then it goes away. But wait… what happened? What did you actually scan? What did you find or not find?
There is no actual way to know what it is actually doing or a record of what was done. Blind faith and trust are sold here - in my opinion, besides giving me a secure browser to use as a layer of security, I do not know how to measure protection here. It doesn't even inspire confidence in me that it scanned anything at all. Chromebook being cloud-based, is it scanning my Google Drive? Is it scanning the physical device only? I have lots of questions without answers. I have not been able to get it to detect anything as my machines are clean, so I don't know if it is actually protecting me.

With all this being said, I cannot recommend this. There is too much uncertainty surrounding its ability to detect something already on the device. It is not advertised as antivirus - it is security, so I can say if you buy this, you will only find out if it works when it doesn't. Testing is a bit harder without malware and fake apps to use for infection to verify protection, like in the PC/MAC world. In short, this is software layer of protection at best for the user to stop them from clicking on bad things and installing apps.

Does the job! Bye bye Lower back pain!

This is the perfect little pad you need to keep with you if you have aches and pains. If you train, it is big enough to wrap a knee or thigh! My lower back pain is eased when I put this in my office chair and use it at work. Simply plug it in and the remote is simple and straightforward to use. One button handles the intensity of the vibrations and the other controls the heat. In all, it does the job and there isn't anything that wows me here. If you are in the market for a heating pad, this could be for you!

When it comes to security, the key is in the details. ESSENTIAL Outdoor Home Security
on November 15, 2021

from Frederick, MD
The Eufy Spotlight SoloCam S40 is an all-in-one self-contained wireless video solution, with its best application being for outdoor surveillance. It can serve as a camera, motion-activated spotlight (using smart features), security camera, and communication device based on your needs. The S40 is a behemoth when put next to other cameras, but NONE are also solar integrated with a large battery. The field of view is a little tight, so you may need to adjust once you see your camera feed. The IP67 weather-proof build offers excellent protection from the elements, so you can set it and forget it. The setup process is quick and easy using an intuitive app-based approach. In all, Eufy knows how to do security right and ALL without monthly fees AND using ONBOARD AI. With this solution, you essentially get a camera with an unlimited battery so long as you give it a few hours of sunlight per day. Otherwise, you will have a 4-5 month battery life as most other cams in their lineup.

Setup
As an existing Eufy user, I added another device using the app as you would have done in the past. If you're new to the Eufy ecosystem, go to your app store and download Eufy Security, create a login, then add the device to your account - easy as that. I first like to test and place the camera in the general area to ensure solar charging and good video coverage. Everything you need to mount is provided for you in the box for a standard install. Long screws and also a set of wall anchors with screws to match are provided in this kit. If you are in the market for smart security, Eufy is where to start looking first! After installation, a quick check of the footage, and you will be ecstatic about the camera quality! I would say that is the best feature. It has HDR to help with bright situations, and the resolution and clarity are excellent in low light and daylight shots. License plates and faces are visible, which is a must in this industry.

Strengths and Weaknesses
The app and setup process is straightforward to use. The camera itself is a self-contained IP67 weather-proof BEAST. I like that there are NO FEES, local video storage, and it integrates well with Alexa and Google. With my Alexa ecosystem, I can use it as a trigger to turn on a light or send a notification through any of my Alexa speakers. The inclusion of onboard AI reduces false alarms and alert times while doing a great job of filtering people from the rest of the alerts. Below are a few thoughts I'd like to share regarding my likes and dislikes with the system.

+Easy setup using the app and QR Codes
+Just 2 hours of direct sunlight each day is enough to continuously power
+Strong solid connection
+AI onboard to detect people in just 200 milliseconds to minimize false alerts and keep your phone quiet.
+Built-in storage 8GB claiming two months of storage encrypted under AES128 military-grade encryption to protect your privacy.
+600 lumens of focused light with color temperature control and color night vision!
+Alerts are almost instant!
+No monthly fees!
+Weatherproof IP67
+90dB siren built-in with flashing light and 2-way communication all in a self-contained easy to use and install solution.
+Solar panel integrated for near-endless power.

-Hard to conceal, starting with the color and size. It's a lot larger than other solutions out there.
-Must enter "Power Manager" for an exact battery percentage and charging details.
-There are moments with buffering, but usually, they work themselves out after a few seconds.
-Planned obsolescence - Batteries not removable or replaceable. When it dies, you must buy new hardware. Onboard storage is not removable or upgradeable either - two pretty essential points of failure on wireless security cameras.

Verdict
This system is excellent, and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to pay monthly fees, charge their outdoor cameras, or pay for overpriced cameras out there. Eufy has created a sweet spot in the home surveillance market where the saying you get what you pay for doesn't ALWAYS have to be true!

Can an owner of the original non active 65t comment on the fit and stability difference with the active version? Curious if that and the extra IP rating is worth a look, or negligible.

I have both. They fit exactly the same. The only difference between the two are the IP56 rating and the black rubberized finish on the Actives. The Actives also have motion sensors in them but you cannot feel any difference between the two. If you have $20 to spare, it is well worth buying the Actives over the Elites for peace of mind with extra water resistance and motion sensors.

The images for this product and description are for the regular non active 65t's. Not the active. According to Jabra's website the actives only come in blue/copper and have an IP rating of 65. Specifically... what is this product?

Obviously, if you read the description this is an exclusive colorway for BestBuy. This is evident by the "Only @ Best Buy" banner under the model number. They are exactly the same as the ones posted on the Jabra website with only the color/finish being different.

When answering phone calls, is it stereo or mono?

If you have both buds in and turned on, it will be stereo. You can use only the right one as a mono option.

Stay in touch with this 15.6-inch Samsung notebook computer. Its Bluetooth capability connects it to Bluetooth devices for wire-free convenience, and its built-in webcam facilitates video conferencing. This Samsung notebook computer has 12GB of DDR4 RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor for speed, and it has a 1TB hard drive to hold plenty of files.

Is the screen matte or glossy? I'd like to use it outside and in bright sun. My old HP laptop is so reflective that it is almost impossible to use outside! Hoping this one is better??

It is a glossy screen. It is highly reflective and can cause issues with outdoor use.

Everything you love about Google, for work and play. Google Pixelbook is the first laptop with the Google Assistant* built in. Its super thin, 4-in-1 design includes a long-lasting battery and 7th Gen Intel® Core™** processor. It also comes with all the apps you already know and love including Youtube, Infinite Painter, Google Play Movies, Evernote, Slack, Lightroom, Google Photos and many more***.*Google Assistant requires Internet connection.**Intel and Intel Core are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U.S. and/or other countries.***Availability and performance of certain apps and services may vary by region. Subscriptions(s) may be required, and additional terms, conditions and/or charges may apply. Pixelbook and Pixelbook Pen are optimized for selected apps and services only.

Why bother with the I7, when every review has the I5 running Chromium "ridiculously fast"? Ditto for RAM: Running small footprint apps instead of fully-fledged software begs the question, "What app needs 16GB?" The SSD upgrade I-get, but not for $700

You are ABSOLUTELY correct in your assessment. The only reason you would want to go to the i7 or 16GB is if you want to run Windows10 or Linux. As a Chromebook, the base model at $999 is OVERKILL for ChromeOS.

Does the GPS work if I’m out of my cellular network I drive in rural areas that sometimes has no network. Connectivity I have to rely solely on GPS satellites .

No, this uses your cell signal for some reason. Based on your scenario, pass on this.
