Great Portable Workout. Road Warriors DREAM!
on November 5, 2019

The TRX Elite Training system is a wonderful product for someone who is traveling, doesn't have a lot of time or space for workout equipment. Your body is the weight so you can get started fairly easily. The whole thing is made out of strong yet lightweight durable straps that adjust SOOOOO easily. Going between exercised is a breeze in as little as 10 minutes. The flexibility and adaptability for this system is amazing. Just find something that can hold your weight and you can use multiple ways to secure the TRX system via a door anchor or using the extra strap to wrap around a tree or something.
Setup is fast and easy. You find a door and simply put the soft padded door anchor between the top of the door and the jamb, close the door, pull on the straps to see how it will hold up, and if you feel good… get to your workout. There is an awesome little app I recommend paying for unless you have time to find a plethora of videos on YouTube for workout routines. The app has great video instruction with everything neatly organized by duration, activity, most popular, coaches, and your personal workouts you can create. It's like have your personal trainer in your pocket with the option to create personalized TRX training. Workouts are downloaded so you can play them without internet. I feels like you are working out with someone in a class.
Workouts are high impact in a short amount of time, meaning you get results for the short time you put in (your mileage may vary). That is huge for those who don't want to go to the gym or busy people sneaking workouts in at work. This is small enough to fit in a book bag or a luggage so you have no excuse for not getting your workout in. Nothing but good things to say but my only gripe would be the price for the system. You get a strap that costs less than $10 mainly and an app that provides the rest of the value. Overall I recommend this to anyone who likes to get a quick workout in between gym sessions or a road warrior.

Solid PC Protection
on October 24, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
This bundle is all you need to protect your computer for the average home user. It covers the most attacked parts of a computer user's digital life. From surfing the web/email to virus/ransomware to privacy/password protection and even a VPN, you are covered with this AIO suite. There are 5 main areas that are protected in this software: Computer, web & email, "hacker attacks", privacy, and payments.
It has real-time protection against virus/ransomware and malicious apps. Web and email are also covered in real-time against downloading viruses and email attachments and links. Hacker attacks handles firewalls and personal file protection. The privacy section addresses webcam and sensitive documents from snooping and hacks. The payments section protects you against spam and fake websites for safer shopping and online experiences.
Aside from the basics here, you are also provided a "PC Cleanup" tool that actually does really well. It scans the registry and other things to help optimize your PC and keep it operating at peek performance. I do get annoyed here that they try to upsell you on something that is "Ultimate" which means the entire suite should be included in my opinion. They want you to buy the "Driver Updater" and "Anti-Track" which is a HUGE annoyance after you go through the long process of clicking through the various scans.
Setup
Setup was fast and easy. You download the installer, enter your serial number or pay for one, and then everything is unlocked and downloaded. After activation, you will have access to the Internet Security Suite and PC Tune-up software. This is pretty quick and everything is up and running fairly quickly.
Performance
My machine is running Windows 10 and has 64GB of DDR3 3200 RAM and an AMD 1700x. The software runs like a dream and isn't really resource intensive at all. It flies through it's tasks and doesn't cause any bottleneck issues that you will find with other software suites in this category. It is using between 283MB and 301MB of RAM running a scan and also the Tune-Up software at the same time. Now that is lightweight for sure! To put that in perspective, Chrome is using upwards of 580MB of RAM.
The UI
The UI is organized and well laid out so that anyone can figure it out. Everything is broken into sections that are pretty clear at least to me. My only gripe is that you have to click next during various scans which is a PAIN if you are trying to do this overnight.
My favorite features
UI - The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. I really like how everything is laid out and is easy to find.
VPN Builtin - Nice VPN software built in.
Webcam Protection - Notifies you when it is accessed or block it totally.
Hi Performance Low Resource Demand - usually AV software hampers the system resources. I am pleased to say this is the best for Windows 10.
Definitely recommend this for home use.

Works like a charm... and things FIT!

This is definitely an upgrade to the previous air fryer I've had. I must first preface my comments by saying by no means am I a pro in the kitchen or at using this fryer. I am still learning as I go since this is a different cooking experience from anything else I have used. I wish it included a cookbook of some sort like you get with other kitchen appliances.
Overall ease of use and capacity are the biggest selling points for me. The layout of buttons and easy to read display makes this a great addition to a kitchen. It has a modern design that blends into many of today's kitchen. It is a dehydrator, oven, and air fryer but I have only used the air fryer function. It is a healthy alternative to frying and using the included literature you get perfect cook times.
The sheer capacity is the MAIN selling point for me. There is enough space to cook for the family. French fries, chicken tenders, pork chops, and steaks are all things I have tried and successfully cooked. Flavor is sealed into the food while fat and grease exits the food. A healthy play and a time saver appliance for sure!
Overall, for the price and functions afforded, this is a buy!

Here's a LOOKER... Best sub $600 TV.
on October 5, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
My first thoughts on this piece when I unboxed it were nice thin bezels and tons of inputs. When I turned it on, all I could say is this is a beautiful picture for an LCD panel. Build quality is a bit too plastic-y for my taste but does have a nice "metal" accent on the bottom bezel. There are a few things I look for when buying a TV and for the money, this really hard to beat for what you get. I look for picture quality, smart functionality, overall OS experience and performance, and brightness.
Picture Quality. Out of the box, you get a nice picture but once calibrated it REALLY shines. HDR is beautiful and colors pop. My biggest gripe with this display is are the dark corners. They are very Very VERY noticeable and unfortunately unless you are watching a movie with lots of dark scenes will see it. Eventually your eyes adjust and you think it is just filmed with a vignette. The brightness is EXCELLENT for a TV at this price point. It gets as bright as some of the higher end flagship TVs out there.
Build and Aesthetics. Overall you get a decent build quality here. This is where they saved money to provide such a great display. The cheap plastic build with metal stand are a nice compromise for this price. Just know they didn't skimp on the display… mostly. It looks modern and minimalistic. There is ONLY 1 button on this TV so don't lose your remote. Unless you have a sound bar, you will not be able to do anything like change volume and such. You can use the app, but trust me just don't lose your remote. The screen is has a glossy finish that works REALLY WELL rejecting reflections.
OS and Experience. The OS run smoothly in this TV seems to pack a lot of processing power until you load in apps and sign into platforms. running Android TV 8.0. There are a plethora of apps available on Google Play and you have all the major apps except for Amazon Prime Video. I had to use a third-party app store to get it. I also use a FireStick and a Roku to make this the ULTIMATE bedroom TV. Everything is well laid out and easy to use. Fast and snappy is what you get here.
Gaming and Movies. This TV is AWESOME for gaming and excellent for movies. 4kBluRay really shines here. PS4Pro and xBox1x game beautifully in HDR and low latency is a real benefit for this price.
VERDICT. If you are all about value for the money, this and one other company out there are the only companies producing this quality of display for under $600. Smart functionality and picture quality are the ONLY reasons you will buy it.

Excellent build and performance!

This cord is exceptionally made, built of aluminum and rubber materials that would rival many options in the space. It has a thick cord that is sometimes too stiff but that could change with more use after "break-in". It follows the design language of the major competitors with white and aluminum as their color palette. The anodized aluminum housing gives the cable sophisticated appearance and the construction is not in doubt. In short, you just plug this in to your device (if OS and device supports it), and plug the other side into a display and it works. This should get many looks as it performs on par with other cords I have and use daily just with a cheaper price point. This is a BUY.

Solid Replacement Charger for ANY Device
on October 1, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios

This charger seems well made and built almost entirely of plastic. The cord is nothing special and feels like any other cheap USB C cable you can get made in China. It has a thick cord that is sometimes too stiff but that could change with more use after "break-in". I'd like to say this is a nice cord made of rubber and high quality materials, but it just isn't. There isn't any nice touch to make it feel elegant or expensive, it is just white... plastic.
The block offers 2 additional charging ports along with a USB C 47W charging port with a LED that lights to let you know it is receiving power. It doesn't change red or green while charging, it is just a blue light. It plugs into the wall like old Apple charge blocks before they decided to change it to a cord between the outlet and charge block. I am not a fan of the HUGE block hanging from the wall but it gets the job done. It may fall out of some older sockets with the sheer weight of the block itself and the cord. In short, this is a strong competitor and should get a look by everyone interesting in a replacement charger or someone trying to consolidate their accessories in their travel bag.

All business, no frills
on September 3, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
This printer is for those who are sick of the ink cartridge slow bleed of nickels and dimes that eventually results in an inoperable printer since you aren't using OEM ink OR you don't have ink on hand. Even if you DON'T print often, ink cartridges are designed to dry out and force you to purchase another set just to gain functionality for some printer manufacturers. It is sickening to see that your basic functions like scanning would be stripped because you ran out of ink. This is a SOLID printer solution that takes a no frills approach. You get cloud functionality, WiFi printing, network printer functionality, and scanning/copying functions all in a well built product.
The ink racket is real and this is finally a way to break out of the endless ink cycle. Ink bottles truly are the way to go in this day and age. Yes, you pay more for the printer up front but that is by design since you will now be free from the "chips" in their cartridges. The sheer amount of pages you can print on the initial ink supply is crazy. It could last me years since I rarely print in color. Here is a quick run down of my experience and favorite features and negative talking points.
The best way to describe this printer experience is simple and no-frills. This printer reminds me of my 2007 printer the Canon MP530 minus the fax machine and ADF. This MegaTank printer to me is the same thing but with ink tanks rather than ink cartridges. It offers easy functions with a few presses of the button. Each ink chamber is individually sealed to eliminate drying out. Easy refilling with ink bottles is my favorite selling point for this printer. It is a true workhorse that is crippled in the scanning department by the lack of ADF. It follows a subtle small business office design language with a subtle matte black plastic construction.
The function and overall ease of use is the second major selling point. All major printer functions can be done with no more than 2 button presses. The down side here is the lack of a backlit screen and it is so small you need to squint to see it just right in bright lighting conditions. The instructions take forever to scroll across this little screen and at times can be frustrating with only two screen position angles.
This printer is very loud until you enable the quiet function which then slowed page printer performance. You can hear the print head scratching the paper which can be annoying to some. It has a rather large footprint on my desk but I expected that being a workhorse AIO printer. Setup took like 30 mins for basic installation going from unboxing and test print page. It comes with 2 spare PGBK20 ink bottles in addition to a full printer of color and black. As I said earlier, there is no ADF so only a flatbed scanner option. There will be TIME WASTED flipping pages for something this large it should have ADF on top. Paper tray window is a plus so you can see if you need paper without pulling the tray to fill it to its 350-sheet capacity.

Good Bang For Your Buck!

It's pretty simple… it's a USB 3.0 hard drive that is simple to use, very portable, speeds are respectable, and NOT an SSD. During my testing speeds were consistent running anywhere from 110-120 MB/s for read/write speeds. Not an SSD but still a decent drive for storage. Build quality is basically a thin plastic shell over a 2.5" SATA drive. It is flimsy plastic that flexes a lot so don't drop it. In the package you will get a USB 3.0 cord and drive. Everything is pretty much plug and play. Works seamlessly between PC to Chromebooks. For the price, you get a great value here for 1 TB and decent performance.

Niche Market Sound Bar KING! Look No Further!
on August 18, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
I will keep this review short and sweet. This is the best sound from a sound bar I have ever heard! For me, there are two main factors when buying something like this. The build quality and the sound quality. The Definitive Technology Studio Advance Sound Bar (DTSA) is the standard for both of these things. I just GUSH every time I get to watch TV now. This sounds way bigger than it is. Everything comes well packaged and protected during shipping in a single box that weighed 54lbs!!!!!. Each component comes in its own "velvet" bag to protect the finishes rather than the plastic films we have grown accustomed to seeing from the consumer electronic market. Unique unboxing experience for sure! From the minimalist design language of the DTSA to the "forever" build quality this possesses, you will NEVER second guess yourself for this purchase. This fits in ANY room and blends in with your decor. When you unpack it, you will know you have quality. The McLaren of the sound bar kingdom! All sound bars will be measured against this for a long time.
The DTSA is a 5.1 channel sound bar model with virtual surround sound tech. This unit features nine discrete transducers and amplifiers with three one-inch aluminum dome tweeters, six three-inch oval drivers, and a separate eight-inch downward firing subwoofer 50W RMS w/ 100W peak. This gets very loud and I have to lower the sub because of HOA rules. In addition, the device offers 4K HDR passthrough, bluetooth, WiFi N, Toslink, and an HDMI ARC port. Finally, the sound bar includes Chromecast-enabled support which integrates well with the rest of my smart home Alexa and Google devices. The sub and drivers in the sound bar are second to none for the size and implementation. I now question if I will ever go back to the true audiophile experience of running wires and mounting speakers at their optimal positions. This gives any nice setup a run for its money. I am amazed at the powerful and accurate sound this produces.
Everything is so simple and intuitive in both design and function. Although, there will be a learning curve identifying what input the sound bar is in, as just individual LEDs light up and there is no screen. The remote is almost too simple and I was expecting some sort of app or something. I am not a fan of the material chosen for the buttons on the remote though. It gives what is like a rubbery "cheap" feel to an otherwise premium device. Fingerprint oils create shiny spots to an otherwise nice matte rubber finish. This rubber material scuffs easily but I do like that nothing can get into the remote from accidental spills or food.
There are three sound profiles optimized for Music, Movies, and Night viewing (which is one of my gripes) and you can only control how pronounced the "center" channel comes through. Initial setup was very surprisingly simple. Something of this level of sound must require an app or something right!? Nope, just plug it in, run it to the ARC HDMI port, and that is all. Sound quality is impeccable. Crisp highs and powerful tight clear bass that fills any room. EQ options are not great since you only get total control over the sound of a "center channel" and bass only. Not that it sounds bad, but I wish I could fine-tune this more. In my eyes, the "treble" is basically your "center" channel. Buying this, you essentially are getting 3 more HDMI ports in addition to what you have on your TV. This is great! Some may not need to "upgrade" to the latest TV because you need just one more HDMI port. All the latest audio profiles are supported.
The Verdict
This is obviously a niche market and if you are looking at it you should just get it. Go to Best Buy and listen to the various speakers and then listen to this. It will sell itself and it is so easy to setup it will make your life easier. For everyone else, this is the ear candy you always wanted in a luxury package. GET IT!

Very Promising v2. Great cam, App not at all.
on July 23, 2019
Posted by: nkpstudios
from Frederick, MD
Top features
Alexa built-in, Emergency SOS and Bluetooth 4.2, not seen before in any other Dash Cam
1440p HD resolution at 30 fps, Inbuilt Polarising Filter, 3” HD IPS touch screen, 140° viewing angle, 10Hz GPS Module, Bluetooth 4.2 , Wi-Fi via MyNextbase Connect and PC/Mac software – MyNextbase Play
The good…
The camera is built solid. It doesn't feel like other dashcams out there with its heft. The display is a gorgeous IPS screen with a 140 degree viewing angle. The mounting options are extremely sturdy and I love the ability to swap the sticky tape mount with the suction cup mount. The GPS module is integrated into the mount and help together by an strong magnet. GPS is great and coordinates are accurate although I don't see any way to see where you were in Google maps without their software. The footage does not carry metadata so it seems it is a proprietary file container that stores the data in the video itself. I love the touch screen interface and I rarely use any physical buttons.

Picture quality is above average and the polarizing filter really sets this apart from the others. You can eliminate windshield glare or chose to darken the sky, whichever you device, footage looks incredible in daylight. You can get the details needed by cropping in. Vibration is a huge problem with this camera. It causes what would be otherwise great footage to be shaky footage with hard to read details. 1080p and 1440 are great during the day. Low light footage is extremely noisy and pixelated. I love the built-in polarizing filter because it helps cut glare from windshields. You will need to buy memory card since it isn't included. The 522GW supports UHS3 cards up to 128GB. Video quality is comparable to maybe a 2010 flagship phone. You won't be shooting any films with this thing for sure! I Love Alexa integration! This is a first as far as I am aware. The connection is through your phone so if you aren't connected to your car speakers, audio responses will come from your phone. I can now retire my Garmin Speak from the equation. The app can integrate audio through Bluetooth in your vehicle so your vehicle will essentially be upgraded to stream your favorite music app.
Now the not so good…
The Nextbase app is slow and clunky at best on both Android and iOS. It often disconnects and is pretty much useless. I wish there was a desktop software to read the telematics and show on a map where you were. I have experienced many "internal error" messages without explanation to attempt to troubleshoot. Restarting the app, restarting the camera, and reconnecting seems to fix it I guess? This is so bad that you can only pair one device to the camera. So if you have multiple drivers only one person can be linked to it to take advantage of the Alexa compatibility.
MyNextbase Player is the computer program that allows you access to the metadata regarding GPS and speed. Unfortunately, you are not able to extract metadata.
Live view works in the app with a slight lag and in order to watch a clip you actually have to download it which doesn't make sense when you are connected to a Wi-Fi. Overall the app is useless and more of a beta there must be some other way that you can extract GPS information. SOS keeps going off even after I set it to off. I really want to like this thing but this app is completely a mess. I think I will do things the old-fashioned way and take the SD card out and read the footage from my computer.
Random reboots happening. I don't know if it is the heat but it is about 100 here. No volume controls on the camera during playback. Needs a way to see videos as a list to get to where you want to be sooner. Currently you have to tap through everything in chronological order. There should be a way to sort for sure. What's with this? No way to magnify either to see details on the screen.
What we have here is a top contender and innovator in the dash cam industry and I look forward to seeing this develop. It is a top 3 camera for me but there are others out there with better features and footage.

Can an owner of the original non active 65t comment on the fit and stability difference with the active version? Curious if that and the extra IP rating is worth a look, or negligible.

I have both. They fit exactly the same. The only difference between the two are the IP56 rating and the black rubberized finish on the Actives. The Actives also have motion sensors in them but you cannot feel any difference between the two. If you have $20 to spare, it is well worth buying the Actives over the Elites for peace of mind with extra water resistance and motion sensors.

Only @ Best BuyListen to music with this sweat- and dust-resistant wireless Jabra Elite headset. It connects via USB, mini-jack or Bluetooth, and a powerful microphone lets you use voice commands with your mobile device. This Jabra Elite headset reduces background noise and has a built-in motion sensor that lets you track fitness efforts.

The images for this product and description are for the regular non active 65t's. Not the active. According to Jabra's website the actives only come in blue/copper and have an IP rating of 65. Specifically... what is this product?

Obviously, if you read the description this is an exclusive colorway for BestBuy. This is evident by the "Only @ Best Buy" banner under the model number. They are exactly the same as the ones posted on the Jabra website with only the color/finish being different.

When answering phone calls, is it stereo or mono?

If you have both buds in and turned on, it will be stereo. You can use only the right one as a mono option.

Stay in touch with this 15.6-inch Samsung notebook computer. Its Bluetooth capability connects it to Bluetooth devices for wire-free convenience, and its built-in webcam facilitates video conferencing. This Samsung notebook computer has 12GB of DDR4 RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor for speed, and it has a 1TB hard drive to hold plenty of files.

Is the screen matte or glossy? I'd like to use it outside and in bright sun. My old HP laptop is so reflective that it is almost impossible to use outside! Hoping this one is better??

It is a glossy screen. It is highly reflective and can cause issues with outdoor use.

Why bother with the I7, when every review has the I5 running Chromium "ridiculously fast"? Ditto for RAM: Running small footprint apps instead of fully-fledged software begs the question, "What app needs 16GB?" The SSD upgrade I-get, but not for $700

You are ABSOLUTELY correct in your assessment. The only reason you would want to go to the i7 or 16GB is if you want to run Windows10 or Linux. As a Chromebook, the base model at $999 is OVERKILL for ChromeOS.

Does the GPS work if I’m out of my cellular network I drive in rural areas that sometimes has no network. Connectivity I have to rely solely on GPS satellites .

No, this uses your cell signal for some reason. Based on your scenario, pass on this.
