It cost a bit more but the difference in image quality is dramatic. The B&W had visible imperfections in the coating. This filter was pristine. I pretty much never take this filter off and it's definitely improved picture clarity.

The strap is reasonably comfortable and is good quality.
I've looped a short strap from the camera body's shoulder strap loops through/around the sling strap because I'm worried about the sling's plastic mount cracking, sending my camera body to the ground. It has not broken though--I might be paranoid :-)
My only gripe is there is no way of holding the camera towards your back as with some pricier options. For the casual photographer it's not much of an issue.
