A must watch for WWII aficionados. The story follows the journey of a tank crew and their impossible mission. The Blu-ray video quality is excellent, with no noticeable banding or defects. The sound accentuates the roars of battle in surround sound glory. Highly recommended.

I did not have very high expectations when I went to see this in the theaters, but it blew me away. Great story, excellent characters, and awesome Marvel action, in total provided one of the most memorable super hero stories to date. The blu-ray is excellent with great picture quality in both 3D and regular. Sound quality is awesome and will pound your sound system relentlessly with both detail and impact. A must own for Marvel or super hero fans.

One of my favorite Miyazaki films

A complex story where there is no clear hero or villian. The characters are complex and intriguing to follow. The story is mesmerizing and one of the most memorable Miyazaki creations. As far as the Blu-Ray quality is concerned, the images and colors are crisp. I did not notice any macro blocking or picture anomalies. Great transfer overall. The audio will sound dated, but is about the best you can get. The music is enveloping, vocals are clear, and the sound effects are precise. A "must own" for Anime and Miyazaki fans.

The Wind Rises is a bitter sweet story of triumph and love. I'm not quite sure as to the accuracy of the events depicted, but the story is complex, engaging and extraordinary. The visuals are gorgeous and difinitively Miyazaki. A "must watch!"

Firefox - Better of the two in my opinion. Character driven story with action and special effects typical of an 80's movie. Cool plot with an unlikely hero.
Heartbreak Ridge - Also character driven, but not enough development to make you care. I had a hard time relating to the characters for the dramatic/emotional content to have an impact.
Video transfer and audio encode is satisfactory, but great value overall if you are a Clint Eastwood fan like me.
I would recommend for Firefox alone.

This was a nice first effort. Special effects could have been better and in some minor ways take away from the ending. A good plot with great potential, but the origin story feels rushed and an opportunity lost. Still worth the watch to get an introduction to the Blade mythos.

After a good Blade (1) outing, the follow-up by Del Toro takes it to a whole new level. Action is amped up as one would expect in a sequel, but this outing offers a solid story and gets surprisingly scary on some occasions. Definitely the "must watch" of the series.
