A movie about friendship and "making you mark" in life. A dinosaur and boy team up to overcome obstacles and their fears to learn what they are capable of.
The story was different than what I was expecting, but it was still good. Tom Hardy makes a good Mad Max and Charlize Theron is great in her role. All in all, a fun movie to watch. I hope you have a good sub-woofer, because it will get a serious work out.
This movie is more about dealing with the loss of a child and it's effect on the family, not blood and guts. In this case it's from a zombie outbreak rather than a terminal illness. Arnold Schwarzenegger as the father and Abigail Breslin as his zombie infected daughter both show a lot of heart in this film. It was a welcome change from the typical zombie movie.
The movie was for the most part faithful to the book. Some things were left out but most of the important stuff remained. Considering they had to work with an R rating, everything was handled well. If you read the book, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I totally enjoyed this movie. It shows the resiliency man is capable of. When Louie Zamperini is taken prisoner by the Japanese in World War II, his brother's mantra of "If you can take it, you can make it", is what will allow him to survive his terrible ordeal. Definitely worth watching. I only wish the movie was longer to show more of what he went through after the war.
I bought this to watch with my grandsons and they loved it. I hadn't seen it since I watched it with my kids, but it was still fun to watch even after all these years. The Blu-ray transfer is great, both picture and sound.
Denzel is great as usual and he has a great supporting cast as well. I thought Chloe Moretz did a great job in her role as Teri. Great action scenes with good character development. The ending reminds me of Death Wish and sets up for a sequel. Definitely worth a look.
