I first heard this while in a public library and instantly fell in love. With native american flutes and light drums, the music by Mary Youngblood on this album will really speak to your soul.
For me it was a little more expensive than regular albums, but since the music is timeless, it's worth the price.
There are so many amazing songs on this, including their popular hit "I Can Only Imagine." My favorites include Here Am I, How great Is Your Love, and House of God.
Almost There is the very first MercyMe album I've purchased and I haven't been disappointed. If you choose to purchase, you won't be disappointed either.
This is a really amazing album. There's not a single song that I do not like. Popular songs on this one include It Is you Fad of the Land, and Million Pieces. My only complaint is that there's not enough songs here!
There's not a bad song on this (don't think I've ever run across a bad Newsboys song). Popular songs include God Is Not A Secret, Breakfast, and Take Me to Your Leader. The ones I love include Let It Go and Reality among a few others. Other songs like Cup O' Tea are listen-able.
IMO, it's a decent album but not one of their best. If you are a hardcore fan, it's a must. If not, you can skip over this (you'll miss a few good songs) or better yet, find this cd used for really cheap.
This is a compilation of some popular Newsboys songs that were remixed with different music/style. Some are really amazing (Good Stuff-NYC mix) some are similar to the original (Fad of the Land-lounge mix), while others aren't as good as the original. The last track is a MegaMix that includes pieces of songs that I didn't really care for.
Overall this is a good album that's worth listening to, but not necessary worth the purchase (unless you are a Newsboys fan like myself).
Some of their classic stuff is on this album: Shine, Going Public, and Elle G. (one of my all time favorites).
Going Public has something for everyone-- want something slow? Listen to Let it Rain or When You Called My Name. Want something fast and club-like? Listen to Lights Out. Want something mellow? Give Real Good Thing a try.
I purchased this album a few years ago and never grew tired of it-- and I doubt you will, too.
If you have no experience with the Newsboys, then this album will give you a tiny idea of what they are about-- this is a collection of a few of their most popular songs. Personally, I think it's lacking a bit (Newsboys have a ton of good material) and more could have been added (only 8 songs?! ), especially since they've done so much over the years. If you want a compilation, "Shine- The Hits" is a better choice.
This is a wonderful worship album (I think this is the 1st worship album by the boys). All songs are amazing! Favorites include "Devotion," "Love Your Ways," "The Orphan," "When The Tears Fall," and "Name Above All Names" -- that's nearly all songs! I was really blown away after listening to this.
Another great album by the newsboys! Instead of being a pure worship album like Adoration and Devotion, this album has more of a secular feel to it (like many of their other albums). Personal favorites include "Your Love Is Better Than Life", "Mission", and "Something Beautiful." Note, this is the last album with Phil Joel. :(
