I like the closed ecosystem, your kids don't see what they shouldn't, what i didn't like my daughter made a purchase by mistake on day 2, turnoff the the one click buying. also i don't like that its set up like its the parents device with the child using it, so there are two steps to logging in. also i don't like the lack of google apps, the device itself itself has a great screen and weight, the bumper is tough and easy to clean, and overall i would recommend it for a 4yo.

The void has great constructions lots of metal in important areas, but its light and comfortable enough to wear for hours, the adjustability of the headband does not allow for a tight fit. unless you have a huge head, while still a good fit. the 7.1 surround is emulation through software, works great for movies and games the range is nice light on base but great highs and mids. If you hear any hissing or noise disable any other mics and audio devices. you get around 15 hours if you turn of the lighting effects which serve no purpose really, and my advice is changing the auto off to 2 min.

setting up Whole Home was a breeze...asked me to name its system with a password..now I have two different networks...which do I use? should i have renamed the google the same as my original one? a bit confused...works well, but crazy to see two

I currently have a Technicolor TC8717T from Spectrum. If I were to purchase the Google WiFi, would I need a new modem as well since the current modem is a modem/router combination? How would I connect the Google WiFi to the current TC8717T?
No you can either use both independently or you can bypass it altogether. to bypass it you would simply plug it in to the main wan port and from then on it would provide your wifi and internet. but understand each node only has one port so you can only have a wired connect for one device on each, unless you get a hub.
