Okay, I know this is not the book! When I saw this in the theater (not in 3D), I couldn't get this out of my head, and had a hard time enjoying the film. But when it was on sale at Best Buy for $9.99 in 3D, I just had to get it. I mean it would mean that I would have a Zombie film in 3D.
And that's what I got. This 3D viewing I enjoyed! Could it be the 3D? I'd say yes! I didn't "LOVE" the 3D, but I think it was done pretty good. I think the other reason is that I didn't watch it with the book fresh in my head. I found myself getting involved with the story and the characters, kinda, "what would I do" thing. I was flinching and jumping just as the film maker wanted me to. So Yes I'm glad I purchased it.
You get the theatrical version in 3D and DVD, and the extended "Unrated" version on the 2D version. This version also has Behind-the-scene featurettes, but no commentary. Also, you have your choice of HD streaming or download from Itunes or Ultraviolet.
I'm very glad that Best Buy has put a number of 3D movies on sale and that this was one of them. If you enjoy 3D, and this type of movie, I think you would be happy with this purchase!

I do not own the first one, at the time I didn't really enjoy it. So when Best Buy was selling the second in 3D, Steel Book for $9.99, I decided to pick it up and give it a try.
And I'm glad that I did! I enjoyed the story, the action, characters, actors, and the biggest reason, the 3D! And from the second the movie started, I was in love with the 3D! I was surprised because I had read that the release of the movie was delayed for the conversion. This isn't what I would call a good sign. But as far as I'm concerted, if you are looking for an action movie that is in 3D, you should enjoy this one.
You get the 3D disk, the 2D disk with extras like featurettes, deleted scenes, and commentary by the director and producer, and DVD with the movie.
And let's not forget you have your choice of HD streaming or download from Itunes or Ultraviolet.

Enjoyable 3-D action movie!

I remember seeing the trailers for this and thought that it might be fun to see this in 3D, but I never did. So when it was on sale at Best Buy for $9.99, I had to get it. And as far as I'm concerted it was a good investment,

First off, I think that this is probably DC's best outing, and probably because they used lesser known characters, or because they are bad guys. Either way, you need to enjoy this movie to purchase it.
With that said, I purchased it when it was offered for $9.99, because I don't feel it is worth much more.
As for it being a 3D disk, the 3D was in fact there, and I thought looked very good, when you could see it, which brings me to a very big disappointment. The cinematography of the movie it's self, and not the transfer to blu-ray, sucks. The image is so dark, and low in contrast & color, it not funny. I saw it in the theater, and that's what made it to disk. Now I know that most of the movie is in the dark, but even the scene with them at the airfield, in the daylight looks awful.
Should you get this disk? If you like the movie, want it in 3D, and can get it cheap enough, I would say yes. You may be disappointed, but you'd also have the movie, and could try and tweak your display to be able to see it.

I really enjoyed this movie, and I really enjoyed the 3D. I thought that even though it wasn't shot in 3D, the conversion was done very well. And if any movie should be seen in 3D, it should be this one.
As for extras, there's a making of, deleted & extended scenes, and a audio commentary by Peyton Reed and Paul Rudd. And don't forget that you also get a digital copy, and in this case it's iTunes.
All in all I'm very glad that I got this disk.

A 3-D movie that comes with a bite!

I enjoyed seeing this movie in the theater in 3-D and was glad to purchase it on Blu-ray 3-D. It comes with the Blu-ray 3-D, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD copy which is either Ultraviolet or iTunes.
I believe this movie was converted, and I think they did a very good job. The image quality looks wonderful, and the audio was definitely surround sound. And though there are many scenes that are shot at night, at no point while watching this being projected, did any of the detail disappear into the darkness. The image was very clean.
As for the Blu-ray, DVD, Digital copy, I can't tell you about it because I bought it for the 3-D experience. And that's what I got.
There's only one problem that I have with this Blu-ray, and that's when you press pause, you lose the 3-D. I find this very annoying on 3-D movies! I really wish this wouldn't happen.
So if you're a fan of this movie, and or 3-D movies, I think you'd enjoy this. It was well-made and an exciting ride!

There's no point in going into the movie, so I'm going to the 3-D experience.
Personally, I have seen better 3-D than this. Namely the next two movies in the series.
With that said, it was not bad. It was shot in 3-D. But my opinion is, if the inter-ocular distances aren't compensated for, the 3-D experience can be week. And I think Peter Jackson realized this when making the next two installments of the series.
But as I said, this is not bad at all. If you've been looking to see this in 3-D try to get it cheap, because they will try to gouge you just for the title name. And in my case, I got us for $17.99, which I thought wasn't too bad.

To start off with, I'm not here to review the movie. Some people enjoy it for what it is, and other hate it for the very same reason. Personally I enjoy watching the movie, and him glad that I purchased it.
Though I have a 4K TV I do not have a 4K player, so I'm sorry, but I will not be able to review the 4K disk. I did not see it in the theater. I purchased this so I can get the 3-D version.
For those of you looking for a movie to see in 3-D that was converted to 3-D, this is the one. The image quality of this disc was wonderful. The 3-D aspects of it were equally wonderful, if not amazing. This is not a budget conversion.
I was very surprised to see how well they had done this conversion, and how much depth was placed into every frame. And while we're talking about the frame, I would suggest if your using a projector to keep it at 16 x 9 because they actually have 3-D effects entering the top and on the bottom of the screen for added effect. It's quite an effect!
And as for the sound, it's surrounds you, just as it should!
This particular set comes with the 4K Blu-ray, 3-D Blu-ray, and a digital ultraviolet copy which expires 12/31/2019. I am glad I purchased it sight unseen. It did not let me down both as a movie, and in the 3-D department.

I'm glad I purchased this for $10 from Best Buy! I enjoyed the movie, and I really enjoyed the 3-D. If you know the movie, you know that often the scenes are in the dark forest, with dark colored apes. But none of this prevent you from seeing all of the detail in the image. It's as though the cinematographer knew what he was doing!
And as for the 3-D, as I said it was filmed in 3-D and has wonderful depth to it. It was very nice to see something filmed so well that at no point was I not able to see what I wanted to see, and see it in 3-D!
If you're a fan of these Ape movies, and you can watch 3-D, I highly recommend this disk!
