I'm a software developer and web designer. I have a beast of a desktop machine but I also use my laptop to fiddle with code and tweak websites while I'm sitting in front of a movie.
This lap desk, or laptop pad whichever way you call it, is perfect for my 17.5" inch laptop. I prefer to use a wireless mouse and this wide pad has plenty enough space for the laptop and for the perfect amount of room to use the mouse properly and comfortably. It's extremely comfortable with the right amount of padding on the bottom to raise it up so your thighs and lap don't overheat too. Brilliant.
My daughter borrowed it and loved it so much she begged me to buy her one too.

We have had at least one Roku in our house of every version. Nowadays we have two in active use; a Roku 3 and this Roku 2 for my daughter's room.
Without a shadow of a doubt Rokus are the best streaming TV and movie devices available. I've had an Apple TV, not a great experience and still have an Amazon FireTV stick which I found to have a clunky interface and fairly unreliable.
The Roku 2 is definitely a sensible choice if you're looking to pay slightly less than the all singing all dancing Roku 3 which adds very little unless you're into gaming using the Roku (which we're not) or want a headphone socket on the remote control (which we have on our Roku 3 but find we never use).
The Roku 2 is a fairly good step up in performance from the Roku 1 and it's worth the extra cash just to get the additional features and performance but you really can't go wrong with any of the Roku devices - they only really do one thing and they do it extremely well.

What can I say? It's a HDMI cable which we use for connecting our Roku device to our Vizio TV.

Worked great - then died after a BIOS update

Worked great until I flashed the BIOS with an approved update after which it completely died.
Not sure what went wrong - I am a teccy and I'm used to doing fairly hardcore stuff with computerized equipment but maybe I messed up or, more likely, the update bricked the device. Shame really, it worked well until that point.

Great device and supports DOCIS 3 which you'll need for the faster cable speeds. However check the details very carefully to make sure it works with your cable supplier - mine is Time Warner and they do not (currently) support this modem so I had to return it to Best Buy and go for an all-in-one router/modem which was listed by TWC. I went for the Nighthawk - a brilliant device!

Replaced my Time Warner Cable (TWC) modem and WIFI combo (supplied by them) which was totally unreliable and dropped the WIFI connection and had weak spots all over the house - used the Netgear Nighthawk instead and instantly a better totally reliable connection everywhere around the house. I use a repeater (~$50) in one of the furthest parts which I expect as it's fairly remote but for the remainder it's rock-solid.
Great router, lots of security features, easy to configure and reliable too. Worth every cent!

Do you want to sound like a professional? This is the mic to have - rich sound, multiple options - cardioid , stereo, omnidirectional or bi-directional for interviews, all of which are selected by a simple switch. It has an excellent silent-mute button (to cover your cough or clearing your throat with no clicks or on-off pops).
Easily the best thing for podcasts, narrations, voice -overs and video recording. It also looks fantastic.
I bought a mic stand for my Blue Yeti and also a spider shock mount along with foam cover and pop filter. The spider shock mount will definitely remove any electrical 'hum' you might get if you put the mic on the same desk as a PC - although you can always sit the mic on some dampening material or similar but the shock mount is the right way to do it ;)
A great microphone and a bargain for the price too.

Great cleaner - we had a Dyson before which we finally had to retire, this is as good as the old Dyson but with the added bonus of pet filters and tools designed to get rid of dog hair and so on from couches and similar. You know when you see photos taken by other people and they have that 'pro' feel to them? The ones with great depth of field, cool blurry backgrounds with pin-sharp focus on things in the foreground? Shots of the moon that look like the photographer was sitting on a low-orbit satellite to take them because they're so clear you can count crater?
This camera is the one to do that. Burst mode, great zoom, excellent speed, 'proper' camera which accepts big long lenses like you see the worst of the paparazzi wielding.
Money well spent for us.

Does cannon make a dslr camera with wifi?
Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 has built-in WIFI. There are a number of others that include this. You can also use en EYE-FI card with any of them which effectively provides a WIFI connection for any that support it although I found the EYE-FI setup to be a little convoluted.
