It's no secret that cradle of filth have been releasing lackluster black metal for many years now, completely forgettable cookie cutter albums. This on the other hand is no such thing. Back are the thundering growls of dani filth that he once used in the cruelty days, and riffs riffs riffs. I was pleasantly surprised with this album, as it harkens back to who they once were and are again. 4/5.
Gone are the stupid samples on every song and back is what they should've done with trample the dead.... Pure blasting death metal. It may not be anything ground breaking here but if you're in the mood for meat and potatoes death metal then here ya go. Love it.
Job for a cowboy has always been a band surrounded by controversy, people either love em or hate em, and with this record I see to be the only one not liking it. After abandoning their early deathcore roots on doom, and slowly becoming more of a straight up death metal band with genesis, ruination, demonocracy, and the gloom ep, I really fell in love with the sound they had that was reminiscent of early decapitated and demigod era behemoth, with SUN EATER however they have once again managed to reinvent themselves, but this time is progressive death metal. Gone are the constant blast beats and instead there is a slower, yet More technical sound, and an almost overpowering fretless bass guitar sound, much like beyond creation and late era death. Now this is not a bad record, but progressive death metal is simply not my bag. That's all. Different strokes for different folks. At least corpsegrinder from the mighty cannibal corpse has a guest vocal appearance, but unfortunately it's totally buried beneath Johnny Davy's vocals in the mix. Recommended, but not highly.
I bought this single because it was only two dollars and it was well worth it. I think these two slipknot songs are well written and very catchy. Of course id recommend just buying the whole album instead.
Taylor's new album is by far her beat work, she's shifted from country teen music to full on pop and she does it very well. She has a much more mature sound on this record, and has reinvented herself with a much more mature sound and focus that she's never really showed before. This album is very catchy and I highly recommend it.
Tools discography is simply amazing and this record is no exception. Brilliant lyrics along side catchy grooves and thunderous drums will leave you feeling haunted and in complete awe. Highly recommended.
