Blacks are very black! Picture is very crisp and colors practically pop out at you! Easy to set up stand, just two pieces for stand and a couple of screws. (although I have mine on a dual monitor stand) Menu settings are a bit limited and it was still too dark even with the brightness all the way up so I had to use Windows settings and play around with the gamma to make it brighter. I have an older 27" LG TFT LED this is basically replacing. (was going to use it for my Mac Mini but this one is SO much nicer I got a HDMI switch and have both on this one, so, the old one will go to the the spouse!)

Worked fine for about a week then the trouble started. First it would not boot up the first time. The error said there was no boot drive present. If I waited twenty seconds and rebooted, it would come up and be fine until the next reboot. Then it started getting slower. I did a WEI right after I installed and got a 7.8. When I redid the WEI after the problems it dropped to a 4.8 with the lowest score being the hard drive. I did a Google search for the not booting problem and got quite a few hits all with the same types of problem! Needless to say I returned it and got a Toshibia brand SSD and that has worked fine for about a month now.

I wanted an extra cable for work because I didn't want to bring the original cable back and forth, so I wouldn't lose it. We're not allowed to plug anything into the work computers, so I got a bluetooth speaker and cheap USB power adapter and played my music wirelessly without having to recharge. I had a cheapo $5 cable but it stopped working after the last iOS update.
This cable is nice! Not too long and not too short! I sit at me desk with the Pod plugged in (for power only) and listen to music all day long! It is cheaper, longer and just as good as the Apple version!

I already had a 10.1 and a 7 inch tablet. I enjoyed the 10.1 but it was getting old, the wi-fi was kind of slow downloading stuff. and it was a little too big and not too easy to carry around. The 7 inch was nice but with only a 1024 x 800 screen it was only OK for reading. The 8.4 size with the 1600 x 2560 resolution is great! The screen is so bright I usually keep it down to a little below half. Most of the time I can read digital magazines without having to enlarge the text! Games are amazing looking and play extremely well! I have watched YouTube videos with no problems at all! I haven't used the cameras yet but I have read may times how good they are. It is so light I can easily hold it in one hand while reading in bed, even with the cover on it! (see related products below) I am extremely happy with this purchase!

I had forgotten my headphones on a trip to the mall (but I had my iPod, of course) . I saw these were on sale and had heard JVC were good for audio equipment so I picked them up, as they were pretty cheap. I figured I could use them for the trip home and either keep them for back up or bin them. I was blown away by the sound! Now my other pair is my backup and these are my main headphones. I loved them so much I picked up a second pair for my home computer! (I'm listening to music on them as I write this!)

We had an older model Mr. Coffee K-cup that you had to add water for each cup for years and it finally gave out. (we used it every morning) and I had been wanting to upgrade to one with a reservoir and i now had my chance. (can't go without coffee!) I really like the newer model! Besides the convenience of the reservoir, It has two cup sizes, 6 Oz. and 10 Oz.. The removable reservoir makes it easy to fill without having to move the machine or pour from a pitcher. The new design makes it so you can put the K-cup in and not move it out from under the cabinet. (unlike the old model) I love making Iced Coffee and before I would have to remove the drip pan in order to fit the tall glass with ice. The new model fit the glass with room to spare!

I got this monitor so I could use it for my Mac mini and as a second monitor for my PC. So far it has been very good. Set up was extremely easy. On/Off is a touch button in the front, along with Menu options etc.. I definitely wanted an HDMI connection, as I already had a few extra cables lying around. I had a reward zone coupon and the desire for some new buds and my other half said these were very good, comfortable, don't fall out of your ears easily and had good sound. All are true. Although a bit plasticky looking, the sound is very good. Nice bass and they are very comfortable for long bus rides. They come in different colors like black, blue and red. They also come with a nylon storage bag big enough to hold the buds as well as the player!

Hello, Just bought this blown rig, my baby is on the way. I wanna know if it has a DP (Display Port) port on the back and if I could get the guys in the best buy I'm gonna pick it up from to install the drivers there since it doesn't come with a dvd.
Mine has one display port, one HDMI port and one DVI port but it would probably depend on the graphics card installed. Mine is a ZOTAC.
It is ready to run right out of the box so all of the drivers should already be installed. Mine were.
You just have to install programs and those are digital downloads these days.
If you have older programs on CD or DVD you can always buy an external DVD drive.

I take a lot of video outside - can you see the screen outside on a bright, sunny day?
Short answer, yes.
Long answer:
If you turn the brightness all the way up the screen is decently viewable if it is in a shadow but NOT with the sun shining directly on it.
The Super AMOLED screen view ability is much better than yesterday's LED type but the higher the brightness the shorter the battery life.

Is it a big transition for reading mags/books from e-readers to tablets? Also, whats the pros and cons in using tablets for reading?
Not necessarily a big difference for E-Books, you will need a free app like Kindle or Kobo but magazines, on an app like Zinio, will be in full color. (never used a Kindle tablet so might be the same)
Today's color E-Reader/tablets are more robust and have better features than yesterday's E-Ink readers but that's because they are really just Android tablets with an OEM launcher on top specifically tuned for their products. Tablets, and more recently E-reader tablets, can also have more storage added in the form of micro SD cards. (S2 and newer Kindle HD tablets can have up to a 128 GB micro SD card)
Pros of a tablet over an E-Reader: (E-Ink type)
* You can generally do more on a tablet.

It has bluetooth so Yes, It will. I just paired it with an Apple bluetooth keyboard.

What level Video Cards are needed to support this monitor?
My current desktop has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 card. (Dell Inspiron 530 with Core2Quad processor purchased in 2008. Thanks.
Just about any newer computer with built in graphics will work. It really only depends on the connections on the computer and monitor. Dsub or VGA is almost always available and a cable comes with the monitor (see product recommendations) It also has an HDMI input as well.

The stand
Is the stand (and leg) for this monitor completely removable? I am looking to mount 2 of these on an external arm. I have an older Samsung monitor model on which the part of the stand attached to the monitor does not come off.

Yes, the stand is removable. It ships without the stand attached.
BUT, there are no VESA or other mounting holes on the back so I don't think this will do for your needs.

Red Color?
I'm curious about what the red color is and how it affects viewing the screen - will it affect my perception when using the monitor for color editing of photographs?
The RED color is in the bezel around the screen. It is a very dark red and barley noticeable.

What is the HDMI and what does it do?
HDMI is a cable specification. It's how you connect the monitor to the computer or a TV to the cable box, Roku, Blueray/DVD player. You generally have to purchase HDMI cables separately from the TV/Monitor.
