If you're getting the poochy amiibo anyway, then this is a good value. I don't see this dropping in price as fast as Chibi Robo so may as well get it, maybe use some gift certs to drop it down a bit. Plus you get a decent game with it.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

I played the demo disk for this game on PS2 and didn't get into it at the time because it was too D&D for me in how it textually described everything that was happening on screen as it was happening. Years later, the DQ series still sticks to its guns and really does sell itself on the feelings of familiarity. It makes the game not too hard to jump into and you don't need a great time commitment to enjoy it for bits at a time.

Most non-cartoonish human amiibo end up having pretty bad faces, but the Lucina ones tend to be pretty good. There's a good amount of variance among different ones, but in general she ends up not bad. Try to pick up at a store if you can so you can choose between multiple.

Another simply designed figure with little to get wrong. I've actually seen a few of these and I think there's actually more manufacturing problems with Toads than other Mario series characters. I've seen bad paint jobs on the red spots on his head, and I've seen paint bleed out from the side of his mouth. Maybe his sub-character status led to less care, but it's still not too bad of a figure and doesn't look ugly.

Anyone buying this now is probably of the generation that watched it when it came out, but it still has its moments that influenced modern non-sequitur comedy. Maybe it doesn't hold up as much for a modern audience but it was influential for its time and it still deserves a watch.
