Good but won't fix your life

The Secret is essentially that we control what happens in our lives by our attitudes and our actions. It attempts to teach you to eliminate negative thoughts and improve your life through positive thinking and when you think positively you attract those things you want to achieve. While the thought is good and can definitely help to improve your attitude, which could certainly improve your life. Nevertheless the logic is a little flawed and it makes a lot of promises. The "experts" in the video make claims such as waking up with a bad attitude will cause more and more things to go wrong. If you wake up with a positive attitude good things will happen throughout your day. I wake up in a bad mood a lot and it doesn't guarantee my day will be all bad. Also if everyone followed this video and received what the video promises there would be many more millionaires out there. If this video changes your life and helps you fulfill all of your dreams, congratulations. But if not, hopefully it will at least improve your outlook on life.
What's great about it: Will help you think more positively
What's not so great: Promises way too much

Great Movie with some great extras.

Not only do I own this DVD but every time this movie is on tv I watch it. The acting, the writing, directing are all great. It's such a great story and a great mix of characters played perfectly by everyone in the film. There are so many little funny moments and lines throughout and even the Cassio-sounding score with fake orchestra makes the film a little more quirky. The special features are great with a couple featurettes and other little bonuses. You can't go wrong with this.
What's great about it: Pretty Much Everything

Better than the first, but still not perfect

There was definitely a lot more action in this than Ang Lee's boring first attempt at a Hulk movie. The acting was fine although completely changing the cast of a lead characters from a prequel just a few years before is a bit distracting at times. It's a good comic book movie. Not great.
What's great about it: Great action sequences

Great Album (like most Cotello albums)

Get Happy starts off as though it's really trying to get you happy with the upbeat opening keyboards of Love For Tender. This is a great album with a lot of the great Elvis Costello songs you never hear. It's a nice combination of fast-paced, driving songs along with some slower, but still powerful, songs.
What's great about it: Great songs you don't ever hear
What's not so great: Like most albums it also has some not-so-great songs

Brace yourself for a new set of tricks, tracks and ways to race. The included Wii Wheel transforms your Wii Remote into a steering wheel that feels great in your hands, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller supply a classic control style for veterans of this racing series. Either way, you'll be able to perform impressive speed-boosting tricks, such as jumps, flips and wheelies. You can zip through brand-new tracks and arenas, and also tour classic courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Mario Kart DS. There are even options for trying all-new motorbikes that have their own special tricks and techniques. The action gets fast, furious and funny when you race in Mario Kart Wii.

This is a fun game to play any time, but it's best when played with a group.I first got this game for a party and 4 people would play at a time. It was the most fun we've had at a party in a long time. Get it and play it with friends.
What's great about it: It's a fun, wild ride

Possibly the funniest movie ever
on June 8, 2009

Certainly the Farrelly brothers' funniest movie (although There's Something About Mary always gets more praise) and one of the funniest movies ever made, this is Jim Carrey's greatest performance. It sounds like a joke but Jim Carrey should have been nominated for and Oscar for his role in Dumb and Dumber. If the Best Actor Oscar is supposed to be for the person who is most convincing in his role and played that role like nobody else could have done it then he definitely deserved it. He is truly believable as Lloyd Christmas, and you would think Jeff Daniels would have trouble keeping up with him but he is never really overshadowed in this movie. I'm not really sure how much the two improvised in this movie but it has some of the funniest movie lines ever said and you'll find yourself quoting this movie constantly.
What's great about it: The writing and Jim Carrey

The Gennius of Thom Yorke
on June 7, 2009

Thom Yorke's first solo album bears much of the same genius that is found on Radiohead's more recent cds. It definitely has it's own unique charms, but it isn't missing much without the rest of the group. Pulsing rhythms and Yorke's haunting voice make the whole cd a treat to listen to. I highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Vocals, arrangements, writing
What's not so great: Nothing

The best movie in the best spy series
on November 15, 2008

There are few movies I see in the theater and come out thinking that I wished it kept going, but that's how I felt when I saw the Bourne Ultimatum. As much as I love the Bond movies (most of them, at least) in this the spy is a serious butt-kicker (which is also why I think Casino Royale is the best Bond film) this film is so packed with action and the fight and chase scenes are so intense that you're never disappointed. The acting, writing and directing are all great. Paul Greengrass' style really makes you feel like you're in the car or jumping on rooftops. The dvd is great because it also shows you how they filmed those action sequences. I(f you love real action and none of the fluff get this and the other Bourne movies.
What's great about it: Pretty much everything.
What's not so great: I didn't want it to end

Co-founder, lead singer, and principal songwriter for the seminal Irish band the Pogues, Shane MacGowan made music that was both beautiful and brutal, much of it driven by personal demons. This documentary portrait features extensive archival footage of MacGowan's career, inspired by the twin poles of traditional Irish music and the raging punk scene of the late '70s (he credits John Lydon of the Sex Pistols and that band's anti-British sentiments as a major influence). We see videos of his early band the Nips (short for the Nipple Erectors); performance footage of the Pogues; clips from studio sessions with Elvis Costello, who produced the band's acclaimed Rum, Sodomy and the Lash (and married the band's bass player, Caitlin O'Riordan); a TV appearance with Sinead O'Connor, who publicly criticized MacGowan's drinking, rousing his ire; and the video for the band's justly famous Christmas song, "Fairytale of New York," with Kirsty MacColl. There are also interviews with MacGowan's parents, who speak candidly of their son's difficult childhood growing up in an urban slum in England, where the family had moved to find employment; his wife Victoria Clarke; colleagues Philip Gaston, Deirdre Mahoney, Nick Cave, and Liam Clancy; and bandmates who discuss the decision to sack their front man in 1990. Later footage finds MacGowan a striking figure of decrepitude -- most of his front teeth are missing, and he is never far from a drink and a cigarette -- though he also manages to maintain a certain air of besotted dignity. The film opens with a 2000 Christmas Eve performance in Dublin by MacGowan's band, the Popes; MacGowan mumbles his way through one of his songs, but the audience ably offers vocal support.

Real life cautionary tale

No matter how bad you feel this film will make you feel much better about yourself. Shane MacGowan is one of the most brilliant songwriters of the last 30 years, but you wouldn't know it by looking at this drunken shell of a man. This is a depressing look at a man who has destroyed himself with booze. He literally drinks straight from a bottle of gin throughout the movie. You also get a look at his enabler wife who seems to think his alcoholism is cute and still seems to be starstruck despite having been married to him for years. In spite of this I really like the film. I would have preferred a a documentary on the Pogues and their history, but this really just focused on Shane.
What's great about it: Great for Pogues fans who want to see who Shane MacGowan is
What's not so great: Wish it talked more about the pogues
