Expecting another Mission Impossible, I was pleasantly surprised. I'd be lying if I said this movie was primarily bought to see Emily Blunt kick some alien rear but the story actually turned out pretty good. The progression/comparison of Tom Cruise's character at beginning and end was interesting.
There's a decent bit of comedy in the training montage and it had a sort of Max Payne introspection to the train-die-respawn-level up-repeat process often found in video games.
As with most time-altering movies, it leaves you with what life is ultimately about in the first place: choices.
If you want a mixture of "Primer" and "Groundhog Day" meets "Saving Private Ryan", you should consider this movie.
As with the first movie, just watch the CGI fight scenes. Save yourself two hours of eye strain.
Buy it if you can find it in the cheapie movie bin; otherwise, steer clear. The original films were, by far, the better. Even the old 60's cartoon and late 70's TV show were more entertaining than these movies.
In Hollywood's quest to milk the moviegoer for what they can, reboots, revisions, and disappointing sequels abound.
I am a fan of the first two Sam Raimi film's (the third was a little flat, in my opinion) and this movie didn't even come close. While Tobey did a great job of portraying Peter Parker and Spider-Man, Andrew didn't even come close. When the kid opens his mouth, it looks like he can engulf watermelons! Jim Carrey, be wary! His nervous twitches and awkward movements aren't what I see when I read about shy Peter Parker. The kid was shy, nervous, and intelligent, not suffering from caffeine/cigarette withdrawals.... When filmmakers state they are huge fans of the comics, I always wonder why the films are so much less.
Essentially, you can skip most of the movie and watch the animated action sequences and get the gist of the film. I was actually more entertained watching the special features than the film itself.
I'd recommend this only if you can find it for $5 in the cheapie movie bins.
Talk hands-free on your home phone with this Insignia™ headset that features a noise-reducing microphone for clear call quality. The one-size-fits-all design and foam ear pads ensure your comfort during long phone calls.
As my phone underwent an unplanned upgrade, I was forced to buy new chargers and earphones since my new phone requires 3.5mm. I'm not a fan of earbuds so this was what I was looking for. The headset is comfortable and the mike works great.
Satisfies requirements that at least one ear is open while driving (my state prohibits total ear coverage with headphones/earbuds).
My only issues: 1) It's a 2.5mm connector so you WILL need a 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male converter (assuming your device is like mine and has a 3.5mm jack) 2) The sound is a little lower than I'd like, making some conversations hard to hear with the window down. 3) Would that the headpiece and microphone were on the right side instead of left.
This Insignia™ NS-PNW5506 Cat-5e cable is compatible with 10/100/1000Base-T networks and features snagless 8P8C male-to-male modular connectors that allow you to easily connect your PC or laptop to a home network device.
This seems to be what happens when the first movie does well and they're in a hurry to crank out a sequel to make a buck. The story is disjointed, the pacing is clunky, and the CGI is pretty laughable, almost cartoonish. I can watch science fiction films from the seventies and eighties and their special effects look less ridiculous than the ones in this movie. It felt like the cast had a good time with the first movie but had none of that chemistry on this film.
And, like many others, placing those horrid blue contacts in Jessica Alba's eyes...why? Yeah, Sue had blue eyes but we were fine with the change in the first film so why change it now? It's not like Marvel hasn't made minor tweaks before (Kingpin in Daredevil and Agent Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. comes to mind).
I'd only recommend this if you can find it for $5. Otherwise, save yourself the eye sore and wasted two hours you'll never get back.
Pretty typical if you've seen the other MI movies or any James Bond film. Not a bad watch if you want to spend two hours in front of the tube. You have to hand it to the guy, ss with all these films, Tom Cruise does some pretty insane stunts.
