My BestBuy is no longer carrying CD's (bummer) and found this one in the bargain bin. Been looking to replace my older, well-worn, and scratched CD so this was perfect. Probably the most listened to album behind The Black album, with Ride the Lightening in close running.
I was expecting a blood-soaked horror flick and was pleasantly surprised. Not a lot of suspenseful "terror" but certainly gets you thinking on how hard life must have been back then. Definitely liked the setting/costumes and dialogue/accents were awesome (nothing ruins a "period piece" more - for me at least - than present day language). I really liked that you never really saw anything, much as with the original Blair Witch Project. I would highly recommend with surround sound in the dark!
Was expecting more of Bourne meets La Femme Nikita. Slow moving, not a lot of action, and nudity seems gratuitous. Hats off to Jennifer Lawrence but probably should have been a movie she should have passed on. Wasn't bad but certainly wasn't worth the money for Blu-Ray - should have bought on DVD instead and saved. Glad I didn't see it in theaters.

This is a pretty interesting movie considering nothing much physically happens. Majority of it is the internal battle/struggle. Definitely something I think it on the forefront of minds concerning AI and civil rights, liberties, and freedoms of all peoples in general. If you think about it, how much does your phone know about you compared to your "friends?" Your computer? How much attention do you pay to them? Would it be different if they looked like you? At what point do we cease to matter? Would humans be willing to cede power if alternate life was better suited to harmonizing life?
Ultimately, it's an interesting depicting on power's wondrous potential and the banality of its abuse.

Loved this movie when it first came out and still do. I think one of, if not the best, Final Fantasy games. Graphics are incredible, story actually makes sense, and the battle scenes are just pure anime awesome.

Some pretty good action and character development. Some tough choices for Kakashi. If there's one thing Naruto has told through the years is, for all our differences - both inside and out - we are all of us the same. And we are stronger united than we will ever be separately. (and it's okay to be part of something bigger and still be you).
I only watched in Japanese (why is there 5.1 English but only 2.0 Japanese!?!) so not sure how the English dubs are. As with all anime, it'd be nice if there was an option for just subs as I don't watch dubbed movies (most of the acting is over-the-top and just sounds goofy to me compared to the native language). It'd also make the sets cheaper. $32+ for two hours of anime is expensive!

Good to see Kurt Russell back in the saddle. I grew up on Westerns and was always surprised when there wasn't more serious treatments after the release of Unforgiven. This movie dips a little into the more graphic side of brutality but there's some awesome dramatic sequences.
It's nice to see a film take it's own pace (remember how long Alien was before everything really started happening?) without having to use giant explosions or "epic" fight sequences to keep your attention - that's what the actors are for.
If you're a fan of Kurt Russell, or Westerns in general, I'd definitely recommend.

Without ruining the movie, it's definitely a good look inside how humans process (or not) grief, the inexorable turning of time, and the onset of changes - whether we want them or not or whether they will better us or not. And, it also shows, that no matter what life throws at us, the fine line between adversity and growth always falls back to the most "human" concept of all: choice. Have tissues handy throughout.

For a movie that features little of the Force (well, prominently anyway), lightsabers, Sith, or Jedi, it was an awesome movie. It's a great reminder of all the other heroes of the Rebellion (and Empire) working in the background for what they believe to make lives and their place better for all, something I think our politicians would take well to note.
The ground and space battles toward the end definitely got the heartrate up - the same feeling I get when I watch the Death Star run in A New Hope.
Great for both kids and adults alike. Grab a box of tissues, though.
Season 2 of the Disney Channel original animated series Star Wars Rebels continues the fight of Ezra Bridger (voiced by Taylor Gray), Kana Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and the rest of their rebel group against the rise of Darth Vader and the dark side. Set just years before the events of the first Star Wars theatrical film, this release features all 22 episodes of the Galactic Empire adventures.

Awesome treat for Star Wars fans. Some familiar faces (and voices, yippieee!). Some of the lightsaber sounds are...meh but the story arcs are definitely moving from what I think of as "younger audiences" (the heroes usually win, there's little danger, all the problems are solved and wrapped up nicely) to more adult-ish themes (heroes sometimes cause more problems when solving others, all bets are off on who is in danger - something I really enjoyed with the Legacy novels with Chewie on Serpindal, etc.). Awesome to have the original voices for Yoda (again) and Vader. And...the confrontation between Padawan and Master!
