So, if you're already a fan of KMFDM but haven't bought this album yet you won't be disappointed. Sonically & musically they are maintaining their standards, with a couple 'topical' songs thrown in that will potentially get dated. At this point in their career, either you'll 'get' these guys musically or you won't, if you're curious about KMFDM start with something much earlier. Still very much recommended for long-time fans!
I won't try & explain Bauhaus here, but if you are already a fan and have any doubts on buying their albums all over again, this box set is worth it! The remastering on all albums is not a night & day difference but noticeably improved, especially for 'Field' and 'Mask'. Having some of the old singles together all on 1 CD is also helpful. Booklet is small but good and has all the basic credits needed for each album. Also recommended as a good gift for an aspiring goth or anyone who missed out on some of the inspiring music this band created!

This band is a worthy addition to the current metal music scene, they do happen to be instrumental which is not very common for metal-based music but so refreshing at the same time! All 3 band members are impressive players, occasionally there are some 'show off' moments of technique but overall very good songwriting that still conveys feeling. I can't say all metal fans will like this but those who need a change in their listening rut will be rewarded!!
Warpaint's second album has a great overall mood to it, sometimes very soothing but always seeming like something more is going on; repeated listens give up details you don't notice before. The band has great interplay, no showboating by any one instrument and a deep overall sound that seems lo-fi at first but actually makes it more interesting the more time you give it. Highly recommended!
If you're already a long-time fan of This Mortal Coil you'll get your money's worth with this and the other reissues done by 4AD. Nicely remastered sound and very nice repackaging as always, all doing justice to the already beautiful dark music on this album. Why this band and its' music doesn't get used in more movies and television shows is a wasted opportunity!
Another great album from Pelican, it has a feeling of being a musical suite but played by an instrumental rock band instead of a symphony. The band's dynamic are in good display and as always well-recorded; it sounds great in the car during a long drive! If you're looking for something different in current heavy rock music, start here with Pelican!
For those who are already fans of This Mortal Coil, the remastering and updated artwork makes is worthwhile to purchase again as 4AD has done a great job overall with this album and the other TMC albums. For anybody reading this who is looking for beautiful music of a melancholy nature that goes beyond the 'goth' tag this and the other 2 albums of TMC are must-haves, highly recommended listening!!
