Pet Sematary makes its Blu-ray debut with a satisfying but occasionally troubling 1080p transfer. Paramount's transfer offers some brilliantly bright daytime scenes that reveal good color balance across the board, notably in green grasses and blue skies. The image is rich and alive with natural shades on clothes and inside and out of the two primary house locations. Flesh tones appear accurate, but black levels fluctuate a bit, occasionally going a little paler than necessary. The transfer retains a layer of film grain, but details range from good to rather pasty and flat. The transfer picks up very fine clothing nuances, for example, but faces often appear quite smooth and devoid of complex details. The image is rather sharp throughout, however, never going at all soft and capturing crisp, even details even at a distance. The transfer does showcase a bit of edge enhancement here and there that produces visible halos around some objects. Fortunately, the end result isn't ruinous to the image, and not even particularly distracting given that it seems fairly limited and not a constant source of aggravation. This isn't the sort of transfer that will dazzle audiences -- despite how bright and, often, nicely detailed it may be -- but Paramount's effort is fair for a midrange, aging catalogue release.

It is a cartoon from the 80's with an 80's rock soundtrack. It is pretty funny to watch after all these years. I used subtitles to understand some of the voices. It held my attention and it looked good. I am sure, at the very least, the kids will enjoy it.

This is just an alert since there seems to be some confusion about a trilogy release with the original unaltered versions along with the special editions vs a trilogy set that only contains the special editions and no copies of the original unaltered versions.
The reviews for both sets are merged together... that is why you are seeing people claim that it has the original unaltered versions, and people complaining they do not. THIS set that I specifically clicked on to make this comment on is on the 2004 release which DOES NOT CONTAIN THE ORIGINAL UNALTERED VERSIONS. The box image is silver and has Darth Vader's mask on the box. This set ONLY contains the SE along with a 4th bonus disc of making of features and trailers and a sneak peak at episode III. If you want the trilogy set that contains both the SE and the unaltered versions but no bonus features, make sure when purchasing from Amazon, that the picture is a picture of Darth Vader and Luke clashing with light sabers and the box has a lot of blue coloring. It also says IV V VI along the bottom. Scroll down to DVD info and it should say release date: 2008. THAT is the version you are looking for.
If you place an order on the Trilogy with the Silver box with Darth Vaders mask on it, you are going to get the 2004 release of the trilogy and that's probably not the one you want... This review is going to appear on both sets though... So make sure before you buy, that you are on the correct trilogy page. Check the picture. Check the release date.

Gone With the Wind offers both the original mono track as well as a repurposed Dolby TrueHD 5.1 mix, which is rather conservative in its surround ambitions, but which cleans and clarifies the source material rather dramatically at times. A lot of purists decry these surround reimaginings, but I have a hunch few will argue about the propriety of this particular renovation. Dialogue is almost inescapably in the front center channel. Surround channels kick in where you'd expect them to, in such bombastic segment as the Civil War battles. Steiner's score typically also fills all the channels. I was rather impressed with the opening up of the sound itself. Too often Dolby tracks, even lossless high def iterations, sound to me like they're overly compressed, especially on the high end. You'll notice quite a bit more hiss on the mono track, but that noise reduction in the TrueHD track does not mean a loss of the high end, which is to be lauded. This is a subtly repurposed 5.1 mix that preserves the front and center soundfield of the original soundtrack while gently nudging it into the surround channels at appropriate times. While even the TrueHD re-do can't completely overcome the technical limitations of the original recordings (you'll hear this in the somewhat boxy sound of the music mostly), this is really quite an excellent upgrade that should delight even the most discriminating listener.

Is 'West Side Story' perfect? No. But the film has certainly never looked better than it does in its current high-def incarnation, and there are plenty of jaw-dropping moments of vibrant color, razor-sharp clarity, and spectacular detail. Hues are brighter and truer than they were on the DVD, yet they maintain a winning naturalness. Yellows and purples are especially well rendered, and the tinted glass in Maria's apartment, as well as the shadows it emits during 'Somewhere,' provide lovely accents that enhance the frame without overpowering it. Fleshtones are spot-on and black levels are always solid and deep, with only an occasional instance of crush. Close-ups are gorgeous, even the ones filmed in soft focus; all exhibit marvelous detail and flaunt a hint of dimension that makes the intimate scenes even more immediate and potent.
The Force is strong with this six-disc collection featuring Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace}, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

The audio is fantastic however, the video is not what it could be. Its like they attempted to make TPM look better but failed. I would wait for a different release perhaps.

IMHO, this is the best Star Wars film made since A New Hope. I saw A new Hope when I was approximately 6-7 years old and loved it so much my father and I saw it multiple times. Rogue One appealed to me in the same fashion. Fantastic film.
