While the original Robin Williams film had a lot of humor in it, this sequel doesn't bother to take itself serious at all. When 4 teens in detention find an old video game system (that magically transformed from the original board game in the 90s), they are bored enough to choose 4 characters that they become after being sucked into the world of Jumanji. WIth only 3 video game lives to risk, they follow each clue and trigger each new plot event hoping to find their way home.

The third Thor centered Marvel movie went a little a different way than the previous two. Though there is usually some comedy within these movies, they pushed the often very serious feeling content in a more comedic approach with this one. It's called Ragnarok, but for those who may have read the comics there is also a lot of "Planet Hulk" to it as well.
Basic synopsis: Thor and Loki find Odin just before the elder god moves on (dies) which releases Hela his firstborn daughter who proves to be very, very powerful and who has a bit of grudge after being kept in exile for who knows how long. They race back to Asgard, but Loki and Thor get knocked out of the beam and wind up on a planet where there are gladiatorial type games. They run into Hulk who disappeared at end of the 2nd Avengers movie.
After things go awry and Thor drags the Hulk, Valkyrie and Loki back to Asgard they fight to save their world from Hela's control. One of my favorite Marvel movies, you could probably enjoy it without having followed the various other movies, but the extra lore might help enjoy it more. Excellent superhero fun.

Previous to this Ipad I had a Samsung Tab 4 (about the same size screen). My preference is for the roughly 10" screens over minis, so I considered the Pro version vs the regular. The Pro does have a more vibrant contrast and excellent colors, but unless you are a regular movie watcher on it, I wouldn't find the picture quality a reason to upgrade. I don't use it for video watching as much and have used it since owning it and would say that I have been pleasantly surprised at how good they do look on this pad's screen. I also went with the larger memory making the cost about even with a Pro with lesser memory. If you are someone holding a lot of pictures or apps on your pad, take the maximum memory that you can afford. It's worth it. My only negative is related to the audio. It sounds find it you have it vertically set, because the 2 speakers are on the bottom. Watching movies (preferred held horizontal for the wider screen) is problematic without headphones since it will only come from one side of the pad. If you're watching movies, videos, etc, that are watched in this way, you will want to invest on headphones or be prepared for the sound coming from the one side. After some time with the pad, I would consider it superior to my previous pad. The bluetooth option, which I use to play music to my surround sound system, also seems to give better, crisper sound than my older phone and pad. Wifi connections are pretty strong, but not necessarily better than my older units. Battery life on the apple products is said to be better also not just for charge time, but as an overall longevity thing. Family members have Ipads that lasted much longer than any android driven items, at least from our personal experience for those looking for something that should last.

When Poison Ivy and her fae partner decide to try and change the world into one populated by plants (as they do), Batman and Nightwing turn to Harley to help them find her and take the plant pair down. Harley, recently released from prison, is trying her best to stay out of trouble and is a bit reluctant to let them draw her in, but after Nightwing "convinces" her (a little more mature content that some DC comics btw) she's in with her usual silly gung ho and bat wielding enthusiasm. DC continues to put out great stories with their direct to disc movies. If you've liked the Warner Bros. TV and films, this one shouldn't disappoint you.

Good Story taken from real life

Though i'ts billed as a comedy, it's more of a real life style humor. The couple who wrote the movie took it from their real life. I don't think it would be a spoiler to say that it covers their relationship and their relationships with their parents while she is put into a medical coma to try and save her life. They did find a way to find some humor into the events that closely mirror what happened (according to the extras). There is a lot of drama to go with the laughs as it is anchored very well into a real story that should keep anyone who likes in depth character pieces. Definitely worthy of the hype that went on around this film when it came out in the theaters. Even the dvd has a fair amount of extras that help add to the movie for those who like to get more for their money than just a movie.

Harry Potter without the school

The newest J.K. Rowling film was specially created for the screen and isn't a book adaption. While this movie moves back in time as well as traveling to New York, it certainly has the same feel to it as the Harry Potter movies. Instead of following a child growing up in a wizard's school, we have a wizard carrying a magic bag filled with unique creatures (illegally). When one of them escapes it begins his run in with the local law since raising magical creatures is outlawed there.
Fantastic Beasts is a fun film, but as usual it has its dark side as well though even children can probably enjoy it without being too scared and the CGI creatures are fantastically done. They seem as real as the setting and actors in it. Definitely a recommended film that captures family fun and action equally well.

adrenaline rush meets social commentary

When a girl decides to go outside of her comfort zone to become a player in a game from the dark web, she winds up on a roller coaster as she lets the chance at money and another interesting player convince her to continue until things become dangerous. Without giving everything away, Nerve shows what can happen when social media and the ability to hide behind a screen let people play with others lives. The characters are well done and the premise is somewhat scary to think about since we live in an era of video games on phones in every pocket with access to lives beyond the ones we really know.
Definitely a worthwhile buy and I think worth more than a single watching as well

Goofy comedy with a bit of heart?

The title pretty much explains the movie. Two brothers who have a rather bad habit of ruining big family events like weddings and birthdays are in the doghouse with their parents. While their sister wants them to come to her wedding, she doesn't want them coming alone to try and hit on her bridesmaids. If they can't come with dates, they aren't allowed to come at all.
Since they do love their little sister, the overgrown children come up with a plan to find dates that their family would approve of. Unfortunately for them, 2 girls that are as bad as they are learn of the trip and pretend to be the women that would be the perfect fit. From there on, the movie goes through the various adventures of the characters often ending poorly, even while the two dates do their best to avoid being discovered for who they are.
It is funny, but some of the humor will be considered in poor taste and there is some nudity so not for the kids. Good for some laughs (and a few groans too).

A movie in the first person view

It was billed as an unusual experience and an adrenaline rush. In truth it reminded me of a combination of a first person video game and the Crank movies from Jason Statham.
Our hero awakes to see mechanical pieces being added to his body after suffering a horrible accident (or perhaps not so accidental). He can't speak because supposedly that hadn't been fixed yet. So he escapes with the woman who claims to be his wife using an escape pod from some flying lab.
The movie continues as he basically gets led from one attempt to get information and help to the next. Even that is set up like a video game as a voice of one the characters he has met keeps urging him along.
It felt a bit like one of the more recent Russian attempts at big action movies. While it wasn't necessarily the greatest of films or even completely original in style, it did have a certain amount of fun. It isn't necessarily everyone's cup of tea, but it was entertaining enough for a low price. I wouldn't spend $20 on it, but for a $10 movie it might be worth watching a couple times.

sharp carousel, model smc1132cs, not even 3 months old - flashes 0, nothing else working
You can try a hard reset on it by pulling the plug and letting it sit for about a minute before plugging it back in. Sometimes that will work but If it was working correctly for 3 months and is suddenly acting up it's possible that you had a power surge. You might need to use the manufacturer warranty. Usually even if you sign up the same day, you can get in touch with the manufacturer as soon as it is in their system. They can help you beyond that.

I thought the battery was supposed to be good on this iPad, but I bought it to replace old iPad mini and battery doesn't last any longer, if as long. I have background refresh off and swipe pages away often. Is less than day it?
From what the salesman said at purchase, the new Ipad did not have a battery upgrade. Battery usage will vary from the apps used, of course, and the larger screen on a regular size Ipad will likely drain the battery faster than the smaller screen. Closing the pad to turn off the screen, I can use Spotify (sent by Bluetooth to my sound system) for much longer than when the screen is on, so again battery life will vary according to what you are using it to do

Is this an iPad Pro or just the "regular" ipad?
This is the updated "regular" version, the Pro adds a higher quality contrast and more colors for a better picture for watching movies. It is not 4K, however, I did ask. So that is the main thing aside from initial software built into the Pro that will be different.

Can I automatically get Netflix on this if I already have it on my Iphonn?
yes, just use the app store and once its loaded, put in your Netflix info for your account. Most (if not all) portable products like this can do that, but one thing to remember, if a lot of people are using the account at the same time (ie: kids on their pads and their parents at the same time) you may need to upgrade the Netflix account to the slightly more expensive version. That package also includes 4k and more than 4 people using it at once.

It requires a usb for the transmitter piece that comes with the headphones. As far as I can tell from the instructions, it is only usable with PS3 and PS4. A direct inquiry to Sony might tell you how you could use them with a different device, but it would need the USB slot and probably special software.
