I just watched one of the best films I've seen in years. We discussed it all the way home, and probably will into the night. (And it will probably figure in some form or another in my dreams tonight.) Imagine the best parts of--and the most profound questions raised in--the films Westworld, 2001: a space odyssey, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, and Blade Runner. And imagine the design work of Tron:Legacy, Oblivion, and A.I. among others, including their seemless FX work. Imagine terrific acting work from all involved, and imagine all this and much more from a first-time feature director--Alex Garland. Oh, and he also wrote the script. The film is Ex Machina. It is beautiful and unsettling. Thought-provoking and terrifying. Get this guy to work on the Blade Runner sequel you just know Ridley Scott & Harrision Ford are going to screw up when they begin work on it next year. This guy is asking great questions about humanity, technology and so much more.
If you're going to watch the Netflix series this summer, you'll also want to see the film. The series will cover the entire summer camp, while this film simply shows the final day of camp.
If Best Buy didn't offer exclusive bonus content in this title's package, I'd happily purchase at Target, Wal-mart of Amazon. Since Best Buy has shrunk their Blu-ray'DVD media section down to two or three rows of shelves, I have little reason to go into their stores anymore to browse. The space that had housed media now has phone cases and chargers. I purchase Blu-ray titles EVERY Tuesday, but only purchase a phone case or car charger once every two of three years. Do the math--how many other people like me are visiting your store far less often because of your shrinking media section? And even if I did need a cellphone accessory, I'd certainly purchase it online for a much better price. So... the ONLY thing that encourages me to purchase a Blu-ray title at Best Buy over a competitor is when Best Buy offers exclusive bonus content in the package...

I love these exclusive packaging sets! I sold off all the items I didn't want--the 3D disc, the digital copy code, and even the empty Steelbook case off to three separate eBay buyers and kept the 2D disc for myself. I cleared enough to cover the cost of the set (pre-ordered @ $19.99) and made another $20 profit. Thanks again, Best Buy!

Google has promised since the summer that a software update to allow you to mirror whatever is on your iPad screen and display it on your HDTV screen was coming. Months and months later--nothing. I returned the item.
