This nostalgic series follows Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage), a 12-year-old boy coming of age in the late 1960sand early '70s, and chronicles his relationships with family, friends and especially the winsome Winnie next door. This release collects every episode from the fourth season.

A touching and humorous series when it first aired, The Wonder Years still holds up really well, mostly because of the period setting (and music), as well as some ingenuous performances by its young cast. A real trip down memory lane.

Bill Bryson's wryly humorous travelogue gets the big screen treatment with Robert Redford in the lead role, and a supporting performance by a strangely miscast Nick Nolte, but sadly there is no chemistry between the two. A real disappointment.

A true landmark when it first aired, Roots became the template for the mini-series form, and while it's fun to look at, it's a bit creaky to look at nowadays.A bit too clean looking, and strange to see O.J. Simpson playing an African native. Worth seeing if you've never seen it, but that's about it.

I'm not sure this film even got a cinematic release. A shame if that's true, because it's a nifty little genre piece, with a memorable performance by the ever-dependable Kurt Russell. Well worth checking out.

It doesn't take a lot of money to make a good SF film, just a good idea. And a writer/director like Alex Garland to bring it to life. This film is winning a ton of awards, and rightfully so. It's good-looking, thoughtful and original; a rarity nowadays.

Director Bill Condon explores a very different Sherlock Holmes, one who has reached the end of his career and is questioning his own abilities. There is a real pathos to this Holmes, but the film is well worth seeing.

Guillermo del Toro brings his best-selling vampire epic to television, with amazing results. While small-screen horror is certainly big at the moment, The Strain stands out for its excellent production values, casting and storylines. And it does not stint on the horror.

Based on a true story (don't look it up to find out how it ends), Mirren's character goes up against her country's government to recover a painting that was lost in the war. While it doesn't sound like the most fascinating drama ever, it really is a lovely film and well worth watching.
The first season of this sci-fi thriller series from Steven Spielberg follows astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) after she receives the news that she has become inexplicably pregnant following a 14-month solo mission aboard a space station.

Extant is one of CBS's summer series disappointments, which along with Under the Dome and eventually Zoo, proved the network was incapable of doing decent or intelligent science fiction. Halle Berry's acting is so uneven, she must cover her Oscar with a cloth when she went to work every morning. The series has now been cancelled, which is just as well for all involved.

On paper, the idea of a TV series based on the classic Marvel comic sounded like a good idea. Unfortunately, the producers went into it with both hands tied behind their backs. SHIELD not only doesn't feature any A-list (or B-list) movie characters, but it's as though they can't use ANY interesting characters just in case the movies snap them up. These characters are bland and interchangeable, and the design is bleak and mostly cheap-looking. A quick fix for fanboys stuck between films.
