Context: working from home, only shave every 2-3 days usually, do not have overly sensitive skin when it comes to shaving.
After 20+ years since I last used an electric shaver, I decided to try the Philips Norelco Shaver 5300. Am not disappointed! I can grab the shaver and be acceptably smooth after 2-3 minutes of dry shaving without any mess or trouble- it truly count not be easier!
I remember from way back when that I read you had to use the new shaver for 2-3 weeks to get used to it, but the Philips Norelco Shaver 5300 has been comfortable from the start

The sound bar for those with small spaces or minimalistic tendencies. The compact Yamaha SR-C20 sound bar fits easily in whatever space is available and can be wall-mounted for even more possibilities. Setup is easy with a simple connection to your TV while Bluetooth lets you stream wirelessly from your mobile devices.

The Yamaha - SR-C20A Sound Bar with Built-in Subwoofer and Bluetooth is a mighty little soundbar.
Right out of the box, I was replacing an existing soundbar & set up was as simple as plugging it in, attaching the optical cable and selecting the correct input- could not have been simpler! Having set up multiple soundbars, setting it up from scratch was unlikely to be much more difficult- the enclosed directions were simple and there’s a YouTube video for everything nowadays, just in case.
The soundbar I was replacing also had a “built-in sub-woofer”, but the Yamaha’s is so much better. In addition, the ability to control both overall volume and the bass level separately is handy. I don’t often want my binge watching to be bass heavy, but when paired via Bluetooth for music, it’s nice to pump up the bass.
Honestly, the only concern I’ve got is also related to one of its positives- it’s so small that it looks very small under a 50” TV.

The Anker PowerCore Play 6700 has, so far, on its first full charge, been used to charge my phone (iPhone 7 in a case) 2.5 times and a friend's iPhone XR (in a cover). I've used the phone while charging and the game controller shape & feel is very comfortable. The XR-having friend is more of a gamer than I and has already committed to stealing the Anker PowerCore Play 6700 while I'm not looking one day. And the real reason I got it? So kids can use it in the car on trips and not be tethered to too short charging cables in inconvenient locations.

Context: I've now had the opportunity to test & review several pairs of headphones/earbuds. I'm not an audiophile, prefer earphones that can withstand activity and don't personally use many of the features of some earphones, but certainly appreciate their presence just in case.
The Ausounds - AU-Stream ANC True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earphones are the first of this type that I've tested ("this type" = shaped like the very popular airpods from Apple.)
Pros:
- very comfortable for extended use (I find many start to bother me after 30-45 minutes, not these!)
- easy to connect
- good sound, good microphone for calls
- I've always thought that an over-the-ear hook is a must-have for use during even moderate activity, but the Ausounds - AU-Stream ANC True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earphones stay in very well- even while running.

Context: I've got a couple years of experience now with cordless stick vacuums having tested a model from a well-known (often more expensive) leader in the industry. I liked it so much, I eventually bought 2 more for others/other uses.
As such, when I first got the Samsung - Jet™ 70 Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with Turbo Action Brush, I immediately went for the old TV informercial side-by-side test. Coffee grounds on the kitchen floor, side-by-side sofa cushions with cat hair, etc..- no difference! The Samsung - Jet™ 70 Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with Turbo Action Brush held its own in all tests at a price that is $100 less than what I was comparing (at time of this writing, due to a sale).
Pros (similar to competition):
- light
- quiet
- for my uses, holds a charge for days (small apt, regular spot vacs, weekly deeper cleans)
- plenty of attachments for different jobs
- convenient charger/storage system for motor and attachments

Context: I've tried a lot of wireless headphone at this point and have some relatively strong opinions:
- Truly wireless headphones without hooks are useless for sports! The JLab Audio - Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless Earbuds have that covered from the get go- the earbuds themselves are light and comfortable and the hooks serve to keep them put- even when hitting the gym or going for a run (the downfall of more than one pair of earbuds/headphones I've tried)
- Many of the "sport" truly wireless headphones sound OK and are reasonably comfortable, but they're huge and just look weird. Again, the JLab Audio - Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless Earbuds deliver! They really are pretty much earbuds with a hook attached
- Accompanying apps are a nice touch, but only if they actually add to the experience of using the headphones- the JLab app allows you to control the ANC levels, adjust the equalizer settings, customize the button functions
- Many of the "sport" truly wireless headphones sound OK and are reasonably comfortable, but they're huge and just look weird. Again, the JLab Audio - Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless Earbuds deliver! They really are pretty much earbuds with a hook attached

I've wanted an action camera for quite some time & have purchased a couple of cheap imitations over the years. The good news is that meant that I had a few mounts already, because none of them were actually up to the challenge of filming anything "adventurous"- they always broke quickly and/or simply didn't function well- especially when faced with snowboarding, biking, water skiing and the other things we tried to use them for. When an the opportunity to get the new GoPro Hero9 Black arose, I decided the time was right to try again.
What I've learned thus far- the camera is great & I have a lot to learn as an adventure videographer!
I didn't get the camera in time for a quick trip to the beach where I'd hoped to use it in the water, but I did take it on the most readily available "adventure" for me- the local mountain bike trails. I've only tested it thus far on a fixed handlebar mount (not the best option) and at various "timewarp"/time lapse settings. The image stabilization is tremendous, especially given that my first videos now clearly demonstrate that a fixed mount on the end of the handlebar is about the jerkiest place you can put something. Poor mounting option notwithstanding, the videos are fun to watch, the 4K resolution is crystal clear and my next attempt using a chest or helmet mount is most certainly going to be EPIC!
As for my own personal lack of videographer experience, there's a HUGE base of knowledge & videos online to learn from. Both the basics and specifics about every detailed setting can be found as well as any level of info you may need in between. One of my next learnings will how best to extract frames from videos to save as photos- my poor attempts to upload images didn't yield any stills worthy of attaching- next time I'll take some actual stills as well since this 20MP camera makes it the highest resolution "regular" camera I have now.
Now, for more adventures and learning!!

The city water where I live is lauded as being very good and, overall, it is. That said, my family has been using bottled water out of habit for years, but due to a recent relocation we're back to tap water currently. Relative to the bottled water, the tap water has varying levels of a chlorinated taste and feels like it has slightly more "substance" to it- which I attribute to sediments of some sort. Thus my eagerness to try the Filtrete Advanced Under Sink Water Filtration System 3US-PS01.
Installation: took me only 20 minutes with very clear instructions and all the parts I needed. The only complications involved my own contortions required to mount it under the sink and behind the garbage disposal. I could have made it somewhat simpler with some longer tubing, but I was excited and didn't want to head out to the hardware store for supplies I didn't really need.
Results: Since the filter is under the kitchen sink, I've been taste-testing the water from the kitchen vs. the bathroom all week. There's little doubt that both the chlorine taste & the slight sedimentation have been reduced with the Filtrete Advanced Under Sink Water Filtration System. My 4 vs. 5 star review relates to the water flow impact of the filter. While it is NOT a significant issue for me, the product descriptions and marketing materials clearly state that it won't impact the flow of water & that's simply not true. Again, it's not enough that I'm concerned, and it will never mean that it takes more than a few extra seconds to do most any task, but if you're going to state plainly that it won't have an impact... then it shouldn't.

While I'm no gourmet chef, I cook my own food often and, important for this review, I'm not at all a fan of microwaves (scary childhood stories).
With a little over a week to try the Chefman Chef IQ 20-Liter Dual Cook Air Fryer Toaster Oven, I can say it cooks faster than my current electric range, cooks better due to the convection settings and, according to all research I've seen, is simply more efficient due to its size vs. a normal range.
My earlier note about the microwave was because I use my range regularly to reheat leftovers and the Chefman Chef IQ 20-Liter Dual Cook Air Fryer Toaster Oven is absolutely perfect for this given its speed and the fact that it's perfectly dinner plate-sized (i.e. no heating huge oven for one or two plates!)
I haven't had a chance to try the air fryer settings yet, but I bought a bag of potatoes yesterday and have every reason to believe, given its success so far, that the air frying will only add to my sense that the Chefman Chef IQ 20-Liter Dual Cook Air Fryer Toaster Oven's efficiency, versatility and speed make it a welcome addition to any well-stocked kitchen!

I find it difficult to get effusive about chargers. That said, I now know what we all do- you get what you pay for and cheap chargers are horrible (and can apparently do some amount of damage to your devices?)
I've purchased multiple Belkin products over the years with a house full of devices (and family members that lose cords & chargers regularly!). I'v gone back to Belkin because the value & quality have always been apparent.
The BOOST CHARGE 24W Wall Charger appears to be no exception. In addition to doing a solid job of fulfilling its primary job of charging, the 12W of power really did seem to speed up the process. This was most evident with my 5 year old iPad- charged from 1 to 100% in ~3 hours... this was an overnight job with lesser chargers.
I've used an older, but simlar design Belkin in my oft-used travel kit for years with no issues, so I can absolutely attest to their portability, flexibility with all sorts of charging cables and durability.
Another great product from Belkin!
