I used this product for 3 months and not satisfied. TheGrip to the dash mount is not so firm. Though the phone grip is firm. It has a strong magnet which holds the phone. Not so great product.

This works similar to your cell phone. If you dont have phone service or cellular service reception, you wont be able to use it.

Does this product provide a secure connection that can only be accessed using a unique password or is it like a hot spot in a coffee house?
It does provide you a secure connection. You can even personalize the password by going to your account online. Just like your home wifi is secured with a password.

Can this be used during a flight. Plane we are flying on does not have wifi. Can this be used to hook my tablet to so we can stream netflix.
You cannot use this while you are on a flight. It is similar to a cell phone using cellular data through network provider. Since you cannot turn on your cel phone during a flight (Besides WiFi), you wont be able to use this. There wont be any signal reception at that altitude.
