Excellent sound, strange controls
on June 3, 2017
Posted by: charliehustle77
Opening the box and inspecting these headphones was a nice surprise. Very nice packaging that looks very impressive. However the leather carrying case seemed kind of silly for a $300 pair of headphones. Why not throw in a harder case. I've never spent this much on a pair of headphones, but if I did I wouldn't trust them to a leather sack when carrying them around.
The headset seems well built combining plastic and metal like most headphones, and is comfortable on my head but my wife tried them on and said they were tight on the top of her head, so try them out for a few minutes before you buy. I connected easily with my iphone and had no issues with connection while my iphone was in my pocket. Once I got around 25-30 feet, I had some connectivity issues as I expected. After an initial charge, the battery has been going strong thru multiple listening sessions of around a total of 13 hours, with an advertised 15 hour battery life.
Let's start with the sound. Excellent. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but this headset sounds great. Bass sounds good but not overpowering like some other headphones. The sound is super crisp and powerful and that was just using spotify thru my iphone, I'm guessing if you had some higher quality audio source it would be even better. While they are not noise cancelling once I turned them up to around the mid-point in volume, I couldn't hear a television or people around me...pretty sweet. The built in mic allows you to answer calls as well, which I think is standard these days. When I used them to place a call 2 of 3 people said the call sounded great but one said that they could hear something in the background.
If I'm being honest, the controls are weird to me. I had to look thru the instruction manual in order to figure it out. The whole touch sensitive play pause button sometimes gets activated while trying to find the volume up down/ song skip feature. I'm finally getting used to it and I guess it's not that bad but I really think they could've thought of a better way to approach this.
All in all this headset is extremely impressive. The sound, build quality and comfort level from these are top notch. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the lack of a "real" carrying case and the wonky controls they decided to add to these.

Decent features with average sound
on May 11, 2017

For the current price, this speaker is just ok.
Things I like:
-Dustproof/Waterproof and it floats - I guess this is good if you want to take it in a pool, to the beach or are worried about dropping your electronics in a body of water and having them still play. I popped it in the shower and i noticed the sound immediately sounded muffled. Although I haven't tried I'm guessing tossing this in the pool will probably make it sound worse than it already does.
- USB Charge-out- Convenient when you're not near a plug (which lets be honest is likely why your buying this speaker) and you need to charge your phone or tablet.
-Built in Mic- Good for hands free use if you want to take phone calls.
-Backlit controls- If you hover your hand over the speaker the controls will slowly light up and so you can see in the dark. This was pretty cool to discover.
Things that I'm not a fan of:
-Storage compartment at the bottom- Just big enough for a credit card, some cash or a key...all of which are things that will likely be stolen from you if someone tries to walk off with the speaker while you're walking on the beach or mixing a drink.
-Charger isn't usb- Why lifeproof? Like I need another charger to keep up with on top of all my electronics charging cords.
The biggest issue I found was:
Sound quality- This was a big disappointment. Bass is barely able to be picked up on this speaker and the actual sound is average at best. I played plenty different types of music and none of them sounded that great.
I realize this speaker is more for people who are on the run and out doing things, but aren't most waterproof speakers that way now? For the price of this and the price of others in the market that are also waterproof I would have to look at the other brands first purely due to the sound quality of it.
I do get it, it's a bluetooth speaker and you get what you pay for. However, I feel like once you pay upwards of $100 for a speaker you should expect a better sound quality and I think this speaker failed to deliver.

Keep your SoundLink Revolve or Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker charged and ready to go, with the SoundLink Revolve charging dock. It’s a convenient home base for your speaker, and you can play your music while it charges. Just plug the wall charger included with your speaker into the cradle. Available in Black.

Good idea...mine doesn't work correctly
on April 19, 2017
Posted by: charliehustle77
I think I received a lemon when it comes to this charging cradle.
The design is great but I have had issues getting the cradle to charge correctly. Ever since I unboxed it I've had issues that when I placed the speaker on the cradle inside the C-guide and it just didn't charge at all. When I tried using it again, I ended up with a 70% charged speaker.
Now when I go to charge it after it's been used for awhile, I have to place it on the charger, look at the battery indicator, if it shows fully charged I lift it up and place it down again. I have to repeat this until it shows the orange charging indicator. Ideally, it should charge once you line the guides up on the bottom of the speaker with the cradle.
I am guessing by other reviews that my cradle is likely having issues that are rare. I will contact Bose once I find some time to see what advice they can give on it.
If it worked correctly I would definitely recommend this to a friend, but since it's charging capabilities are hit or miss I give it 2 stars.

Cool idea but only works sometimes.
on April 17, 2017

I got this along with the Revolve + and since I've opened it I've had issues with it charging correctly. It's very picky about how you place the speaker on the charger. Several times I've popped the Revolve on the charger inside the C groove perfectly and when I came back it's still charged to the same level. I usually have to play with the charger to make sure its actually charging. Something that could be done simply turns into a bit of a pain.
Here's what happens: I place the speaker on the charger, it shows charging and then quickly changes to charged. I lift it up and put it back down, same thing. Repeat multiple times until it actually starts charging.
I don't see anyone else having issues with this so I may have gotten a lemon.

Place it in the center of the room to give everyone the same experience. Or set it near a wall so sound radiates and reflects. Best portable bluetooth spearker I've used.
on April 17, 2017

This speaker is awesome. I will not compare it to any other speaker or to any virtual assistant that it shares the shape as.
The revolve + has a handle on the top so you can carry it with you. The top is rubberized and the bottom is a smooth metal finish. The revolve + version is water resistant as well which is a huge plus for a beach bum such as myself.
There are holes all the way around the speaker so you can hear it from any side. There is a volume control on the top where you can adjust the volume with more increments than on an iphone for a more finely tuned volume. You can also plug in a usb device to this instead of bluetooth. While I haven't used the speaker for a long amount of time the battery life on this looks to be great.
The sound is clear and crisp, just like you'd expect from a bose product. The bass is pretty insane from a speaker this size, almost too insane. I wish there were a way I could tone down the bass and tweak the sound slightly either thru the manual operation on the speaker or the Bose Connect app. The volume get's really loud!
If you use an iphone you can activate siri by holding down the middle button. I've only used it once and I can't remember exactly how I activated it but it worked. I don't use Siri much so that doesn't mean much to me, but it is an option.
This is going to be great to take to the beach. In the past we've relied on tiny cheapo speakers that cost little of nothing. Battery life on those devices was terrible and you could barely hear them. The Revolve + is going to be a game changer with 16 hours of battery and the fact that it’s water resistant.
I do own the cradle as well, and have had issues with getting it to charge correctly. You have to kind of put the revolve in and play around with it to get it to charge. I’ve left it for days to come back to it telling me that it’s charged 80%. I’m guessing this is a problem with the charging cradle and not the actual speaker.

Great suction but wobbly and hose issues.
on March 17, 2017
Posted by: charliehustle77
Before receiving this Dyson I had a pretty good vacuum that also ranks high in average customer reviews (made by a company with the name of an ocean fish made famous by a series of movies). In my review I’ll be using some comparison between the two.
When I first unboxed the Dyson I noticed the simple directions to assemble the vacuum. They basically use pictures with no text which is fine since it’s just a few pieces to snap together. I looked it over to make sure everything looked ok and disassembled the filter/container area to make sure there was nothing else to take apart before trying it out. As easy as it sounds, the directions seem a little too dumbed down.
Before even starting it up I noticed that the build quality seems to be lacking compared to my current vacuum. Lots of moving plastic parts and a somewhat wobbly vacuum that will fall over if not correctly locked into place. It’s wobbly and feels like it could fall with little effort.
When I first started vacuuming I noticed that the vacuum is much heavier and harder to move over the carpet than my other vacuum which is self-propelled. I also noticed that it got hot, like it was putting off heat and it had a chemical smell coming from it. I assumed it was from it being new and went ahead and finished vacuuming the floor to notice that there was a tiny clear sand type substance that was all over the ball and bottom of the vacuum. I emptied the container to see more of the tiny clear particles in the container along with dirt, dust, hair and the normal things you get when vacuuming the floor. I figured that since it was my first time using it I would call customer service. Dyson customer service was very helpful in getting the vacuum registered and walking me thru some possible troubleshooting for the vacuum. They said that this is not normal and offered to replace it. This would involve me boxing it back up and shipping it back and waiting a few weeks for a replacement. I decided since it has a 5 year warranty that I would keep it and see if the problem persisted. I’ve vacuumed several times after this incident and have not noticed as much of the clear particles, but there’s still some there.
That brings us to the vacuum. It did do an amazing job sucking up dirt and dust off of my floor. We don’t have animals and normally keep a clean house but this thing was doing some serious work. The amount of suction the Dyson had was quite impressive. It cleaned a lot of dust off of my floors that I didn’t think was there. Using the hose is a pain. The hose is very tightly installed in the vacuum and with the amount of suction and the weight and lack of sturdiness from the Dyson it’s almost impossible to remove it while the vacuum is running. It just springs right back into the vacuum, pulls the vacuum towards you or knocks the vacuum over because of the way it’s built.
I tried the vacuum on both carpets and hard floors and it did a great job. Did it do better than the much cheaper vacuum that I purchased on sale? It seemed that way. Is it easier to operate than that cheaper vacuum? No.
Pros on this vacuum:
Suction strength. Wow.
Easy cleaning/emptying canister
House and air really “feels” cleaner after using
Looks cool (C’mon this thing looks like a muscle car)
Cons on this vacuum:
Price
Build quality
Design quality (Hose and wobbly upright lock in design)
Yes, my house felt cleaner after using the dyson. The vacuum is harder to use and push around than my previous vacuum. So if this is for someone with not a lot of arm strength I’d say you should weigh whether or not the suction power is worth the extra force needed to push it. The hose system is almost unusable unless I’m doing something really wrong. Maybe it will loosen up over time? With it’s current design I feel like it’s unusable on stairs due to the fact that the hose pulls so much on the unit that it is constantly in the way or feels like it’s going to fall. For that reason I’ll be keeping my other vacuum handy at least until the hose loosens up or I figure out a better method. Not sure why Dyson hasn’t worked up a solution for this. Maybe concentrating more on suction power than how it’s used. It’s kind of like having a car with so much torque that it rips the axles off.
I’m giving the dyson 3 stars for suction and that it does exactly what it says. I’m deducting 2 stars for the hose being what it is and for the price which is much higher than other comparable vacuums on the market. If I could use this on my stairs without it springing back into my face I’d add another star.

Sweet Little Trimmer
on November 27, 2016
Posted by: charliehustle77
As a guy who shaves my head weekly and I received this trimmer just in time for a fresh shave. Compared to my old trimmer (which I trashed upon receiving the Philips) this trimmer feels more sturdy and cuts more smooth. I tried out all of the attachments. They all worked as expected although I felt the shaver didn't work as well as I thought it would. I assume it's because I use a normal razor on my face and not an electric razor. As with any little trimmer like this, the blade guides are made of plastic and feel like they could break easily or bend if too much pressure is applied causing a closer shave than expected.
The problem I've ran into with the past few trimmers I've used is the battery life doesn't last long. I'm hoping the lithium ion battery in this one makes it last longer than the others, but my review is just from a few uses and trying it out.

Active lifestyle and hate cords? Buy these.
on June 6, 2016
Posted by: charliehustle77
Disclosure, I was sent these earbuds for free in return for an honest review.
To begin, these came to me at just the right time. I had been doing alot of weight training and cardio training recently trying to get back into shape. I found that every corded set of earbuds got in the way. On the treadmill, I had a cord limiting movement. Lifting dumbells, I'd have a cord getting stuck between dumbells while re-racking them. Bench press, the phone would fall out of my pocket in the middle of a lift making things dangerous. I would also try to run the wire up the inside of my shirt so it would not be in the way, but then it would be stretched so the earbuds would end up being pulled out of my head. I was at the point where it was more cumbersome dealing with the 3.5 jack wire than concentrating on lifting and running. Needless to say, I was very excited about trying these out. I've never owned wireless earbuds but I've used many different types of wireless with varying results in quality.
Upon opening the box they came in the first thing I noticed was the packaging Top of the line, fold out box that would make any electronics enthusiast drool. The earbuds are placed neatly on top and all the info, charger, replacement buds and carrying case below.
The rubberized feeling of these earbuds and weight of them show that they are built with quality and comfort in mind. They feel great to the touch.
I charged them up as recommended by Bose before using them. The way the rubber buds are designed to curve to the inside of your ear keeps them in place without worrying about them flying out during a run. They did not slide out at all while sweating. I haven't used them in the rain yet, but they are supposed to stand up to water to a certain extent. There is also a small clip on the back to clip to the back of your shirt to prevent the cord from flopping around the back of your head.
The sound quality on these is great. I used a popular streaming music service that rhymes with modify and it sounded incredible! It has a caller ID that plays your ringtone, speaks you the name of the person calling (if you have them saved in your device) or the number. You can then decide if you want to answer the call or not a great feature!
Battery life was better than expected. On a full charge I played music and podcasts for 4 hours non stop and it went down to 80%. Impressive. You charge them by USB in one of the buds. The charging cord could've been a bit longer, but I understand they want it all to fit in the carrying case.
I would recommend these to anyone who has an active lifestyle and doesn't want to be tied down by cords in the gym, running or doing any outdoor activities. I just saw the MSRP from BOSE and I'll say if your looking for a bluetooth earbud setup, these are absolutely worth it!

Does what it says, extends your wifi!

I was given this range extender free to review it. This range extender is a breeze to set up. Push the button on your router while having the range extender next to it, then push the button on the range extender. Repeat for 5GHz. Then unplug the range extender and move it to somewhere where your signal drops out in your house. You can use the spotfinder by typing in the ip address of your range extender and clicking spot finder. It will tell you if your range extender is too far away, too close or just right. Pretty cool little tool that I wish linksys would make an actual app for. It's seems to be hard to find unless you're looking for it. I don't live in a huge house but this things seems to do the trick and works well with my linksys router. I would recommend this for people with a good internet/router setup who have some dead zones in your home.

So far performing great!
on May 21, 2016

I was offered a chance to review this product for BB. I chose to do so because the amount of devices on my home network was overwhelming my router. I am by no means an expert when it comes to networking devices so This review may reflect that. This router seems perfect for those who have a ton of devices running on their network. With 1 2.4GHz band and 2 5GHz bands, there seems to be plenty to go around. The size of the EA9500 and the weight alone impressed me taking it out of the box. Setup was simple and the easy setup guide that came along with it should be easy for anyone to understand. The linksys smart wifi app is really cool giving you tons of options and allowing you to check all your connections throughout your home and troubleshoot certain things. The router settings web page is the most complete and easy to use settings page I've dealt with on a router.
While the price is slightly higher than some others in its class the performance of the EA9500 worked great for me in my limited use of almost a week. In my house we have 12 -15 devices connected at times. Phones, tablets, ps4, smart tvs, laptops, printer, firestick etc etc on and on. It's like nowadays every device that comes out needs a connection and then friends come over and everyone hooks up to your wifi. The router connected all of them easily and I haven't noticed any drop off in signal at all. Once I got all devices hooked up I tried to power them all up and run things that would suck up bandwidth, hd movie on YouTube, download a game on ps4, stream a high quality movie on another laptop, steam a movie on the firestick etc. I basically did everything I could have done by myself, to make this router lose strength. What I found was the only thing to show any lag during was my smart tv running Netflix, which has been notoriously bad with Netflix streaming since the unboxing so I can't hold it against this router. On one of my 5GHz connected devices I'm consistently getting speeds 30mbps faster than what my isp says is the top speed at my tier (Blast)using my ISP provided modem and this router. (See pic)
All in all the router looks good, does what is it says, had an easy setup and performs impressively giving me full strength throughout my house. The price tag seems high but the quality of the router and the fact that you're "future proofing" your networking setup with this, will likely make it worthwhile for most looking for a router in this class.

Remarkably smooth and responsive cursor control works perfectly on any surface. Connect simply via Bluetooth Low Energy or the included USB receiver with a 33 ft (10 m) range.

hi, the M575 has only been available on Logitech's site in graphite and off-white colors. Guess best buy is having it now... is this "black" color really black? or is it the same graphite-gray that logitech sells on their site?

The part number on the black M575 from Best Buy does not match the part number for the graphite version from Logitech. I would guess they are not the same.

How comfortable are they? Do they feel like they're going to fall out with rigorous exercise (running) or do they have a secure fit a majority of the time?

These fell out of my ears while I was doing nothing. They don't feel secure. The sound on these are great but working out and exercising with these on will probably not be a good idea.
