I really like this album and it is a rather heavy affair. Probably the band's heaviest album to date. I gave this album 4 stars and not 5, because as good as this album was, I wish the band would return to the European Gothic roots that brought them to the big time. I felt those elements were lacking on this album, but the crunchy riffs and heavy rhythms more than made up for lack of the bands old sound.
in the form of a remastering job. Metallica did a recent remaster job on this album and Ride The Lightning. Both albums sound so much better You can definitely hear the bass guitar more and the drums just pop out more! Metallica kept the artwork intact. For 5.99, you cannot go wrong!
I have always loved this album. Metallica did a recent remaster job on this album and it sounds much better. You can hear the bass guitar more and the drums just pop out more! Metallica kept the artwork intact.
This is definitely a more ethereal and sexy album than Deftones are used to putting out. The last 2 albums were just hard and driving, but this album is good to rock out to and / or cuddle with your significant other on the couch.
Southern fried goodness from this amazing hard rock band. If you liked their previous albums, you will love this output of new music! Also, the closing track "The Rambler" will tug at your heart strings!
If you like Amon Amarth, you will love this album. They do not deviate from the sound, but decided to do a concept record. Also, you cannot go wrong with guest vocals from the great Doro Pesch! Oh, and the artwork in the booklet is amazing.
This is the album where the band is not just a super group comprised of ex members of Killswitch Engage, Bleeding Through, Fear Factory, and All Shall Perish. This album is where this band have truly morphed into their own band and have really dialed in their sound.
Amazing work. Best record since "As The Palaces Burn". Great songwriting and amazing guest appearances from Deftones and Dillinger Escape Plan singers.
