Small size, massive performance!

This is the most useful scanner I have ever owned. Prior to this scanner, I was using an Epson all-in-one printer that had a flatbed and automatic document feeder (ADF) scanner function that can only scan documents one side at a time. Suffice it to say, the ADF on my all-in-on printer really behaves more like an “automatically doesn’t function” scanner.
This awesome little scanner is a breath of fresh air for me. The setup was easy, albeit requiring the use of a USB-A to USB-B cable that they supplied. If you are going to try to set this up with a computer that only has USB-C ports, make sure you have a USB-A to USB-C adapter for ease of use and set up. (I have not yet figured out if this particular model connects via WIFI, I suspect not). I plugged this in as the directions showed and downloaded the Epson SmartScan software onto my Apple Macbook Pro running the most recent update of Big Sur. Normally, and with my other Epson printer included, I do not like proprietary printer software. However, this SmartScan software is just too great. Before you scan your document, you can choose whether you are going to scan a single side document or a double side document. After that selection, this thing just TAKES OFF and scans all of the pages faster than I could have imagined. I actually got startled when I first started the scanning process and the first page just rocketed through this scanner like the Tasmanian devil on crack. The next part of the scanning process on the software allows you to review the orientation, order, and quality of each scan in an easy to view process, allowing you to make adjustments as needed before saving. Then with the saving process, you have the ability to save directly to the computer, print and then save (printing occurring on a connected printer of course) Google Drive, to an email, to Microsoft Word and Excel, and more. I wasn’t sure, but I would have liked to see direct support for Microsoft Onedrive. However, I worked around this by setting up to save to a folder within my Onedrive folder on my Macbook Pro.
With further use, something I wanted to note that I think is awesome is that it automatically detects if it is scanning a double-sided document or not! Not preselection required, just load the documents as instructed and press the scan button and it will take over from there! Love that. Another thing I found is that, by loading my driver’s license long way in (vertical) it scans it with ease. I just had to squeeze in the guides and make sure it was aligned properly. I found that it was inconsistent with other cards though, no matter how I aligned them. I would really consider this to be best accomplished at normal sized paper documents and that a flatbed would probably be best for cards etc. if you are seeking consistency.
Overall, for a home office, working from home, or small business setting, I can’t imagine a better scanner. Its compact size places no great demands on space and its quality of scans and efficiency in scanning yield results that anyone can appreciate. This definitely has found its place in my set up! With tax season arriving, I am going to be pleased to have this scanner to help me get all my documents prepared and scanned in!

This air purifier really makes a difference!

From the cooking of subjectively smelly foods to relief from pet allergies, this air purifier is really changing our lives in our home!
I love to eat fish, the really smelly ones when you cook them. My girlfriend on the other hand cannot stand the smell and gags when she smells them. This air filter to both of our assessments has been really incredible in cutting down on food odor. I have an open concept condo where the living room, dining room, and kitchen are all connected with no intervening walls or separations. I would say it is probably about 500 sq. feet or so of open air all circulating together. I have the incredible machine set up in the living room and it quietly and efficiently deals with the smells. I will food prep in the morning on a day off with this air purifier turned on and by the time my girlfriend gets home in the afternoon, she cannot smell the fish I have cooked!
Another aspect this is really helping with is cats. I love cats, so so much. But oh my gosh, they make my eyes turn redder than a tomato at peak redness. I already have been employing the use of a pet allergy/HEPA filter vacuum, but with this air purifier my residual day to day allergy flare ups have all but disappeared!
I have enjoyed connecting this to my phone to see the metrics for filtration and purity of the air. It is fascinating to see the variances day to day in the measurements. I am going to be curious when spring hits what the purifier detects and how it holds up to my areas ridiculous pollen count.
All in all, I would really take a large air purifier like this into consideration if you have a large, ongoing space to filter that falls at or under this machine’s rated 698 sq. feet of purification.

As so many of us have faced in 2020, I am having to attend A LOT of online conferences, meetings, and seminars for my work. For some of my work, I have to display charts in the background next to me as I discuss and perform my presentations. A few of my colleagues had informed me that with my previous camera I was using, it was highly pixilated and difficult to make out what I was presenting. I wanted to go overkill for my scenario to help future proof my media presentations and therefore I was happy to get this camera.
I am not using this alongside gaming or on YouTube, just for Zoom and Microsoft Teams mostly. The image that I my colleagues are reporting now is as crisp and smooth as I had hoped with the 4K video! I can even tell that my image is one of the best projected on zoom when I compare my video image with that of others!
For my uses now, I think this is a great camera!

A great vacuum if pet or human hair is an issue!

This vacuum sucks--and that is meant as a complement! Truly, this vacuum has changed the manner in which I go about my cleaning routine in my home.
First of all, I have found that it really does just seem to clean my carpet more thoroughly than my previous vacuum this is replacing. To test this, I used my previous vacuum over a section of my plush living room carpet and then followed up by using my new Bissell CleanView vacuum. To my delight, I actual had additional dirt and hair in the vacuum canister that I know that my previous vacuum wouldn't have gotten to. On the handle, the vacuum has an adjustment for bare carpet to plush carpet to modify how much suction the vacuum is employing. This seemed to assist in applying the right amount of suction to the different sections of flooring I vacuum, thus cleaning more thoroughly.
I am absolutely in love with how this beast handles hair. It is not pet hair that actually convinced me to want to go with this vacuum, but my girlfriend's hair. She has long, curly hair and sheds like a husky. On my previous vacuum cutting all of the hair off the vacuum brush turned into a monthly chore. With this CleanView vacuum, it just all piles neatly into the canister and dumps easily into the trash when emptying the canister.
I am really enjoying the lift off feature of the vacuum canister. It is really nice to leave behind the heavy, cumbersome vacuum head and walk around my furniture and drapes with only the handle and the vacuum canister. Talk about convenient!
As a word of caution, I will say that while this vacuum is powerful, it is not as nimble or as easy to maneuver as some vacuums. It has difficulty turning sharply and corning in tight spaces. The vacuum is small enough to fit under low objects like beds and between tight spaces, just not easy to control once you are there. I would say if someone has wrist or shoulder issues, they should probably avoid this vacuum altogether as it does require a rather firm hand to maneuver.
Speaking to the allergen reduction abilities of this vacuum, in some research that I did, it does appear that this vacuum employs appropriate micron-size filters to handle the majority of allergens that pile up on carpets and surfaces from pets and plants alike. If you or a loved one in the home suffer from allergies, this would be an excellent choice to investigate.
Overall, I am highly pleased with my new vacuum. While it may not be as nimble or as light as some, it does such an excellent job cleaning and is so convenient with the lift off feature that I feel it will remain a great choice for most!

A high-end toaster for when aesthetics matter!

This toaster performs as incredibly as it looks. A unaware shopper might look at this toaster and think to themselves, "Why?". It is important to note that this toaster is part of the Cafe´ series of GM appliances, so it is meant to match up with the Cafe´ oven etc.
Even as a standalone toaster, however, I am super happy with this appliance! The express feature is awesome. As seen in my pictures, when you press the express button during a toasting cycle, it turns on all heating elements to what appears to be max heat output and it can finish off the toasting of any item within quickly!
Aesthetics wise, the white LED lighting looks excellent and I am appreciative of the copper finish in this series on the knob and such. The only thing I am not the biggest fan of as others have mentioned is the lack of a retractable power cable. I think that such a feature would have really put this toaster over the top and made it an even better buy.
Overall, for those who understand what they are buying here, I cannot recommend this toaster enough!

Next gen level performance

This 980 Pro has been astonishingly awesome upgrade for my computer! On a X570 board, I used the Samsung Magician cloning software and an external M.2 SSD USB 3.0 enclosure to clone my old Crucial P1 1TB boot drive contents onto this baby. The Samsung cloning software made this simple. I then swapped the P1 for the 980 Pro on my MOBO, booted into the BIOS, selected the 980 Pro as my boot drive, and I was up and running! The speeds on my PCIe 4.0 board are living up to the expectations of what this drive can do with sequential reads in the nieghborhood of 6000mb/s and writes in the 4500-5000mb/s range. Samsung, although generally more expensive per GB than competitors, never ceases to impress. I highly recommend this drive if you have a PCIe 4.0 MOBO that is capable of utilizing all the power this has to offer!

The sound bar for those with small spaces or minimalistic tendencies. The compact Yamaha SR-C20 sound bar fits easily in whatever space is available and can be wall-mounted for even more possibilities. Compact size, huge sound, gigantic value!

This soundbar has no right sounding as amazing as it does for its price and form factor! This thing has huge, room filling volume that is clear, crisp, non-distorted across all volume ranges, and even manages to achieve some great bass notes with its built-in subwoofer!
This soundbar is incredibly well featured at this price range. One of the chief excitements for me is that it has HDMI ARC at its price, allowing you to plug it into the HDMI arc port of your TV (if it is equipped) and enjoy pass through audio while being able to control the volume of the soundbar with your TV remote. I tried the HDMI arc feature with both my LG Series 8 TV and my Vizio 65 OLED TV and found this feature to work seamlessly with both. It comes only with its power cable and an optical audio cable, so you will need to get an HDMI cable to use this feature.
For a compact soundbar without an external subwoofer, this thing is a truly impressive sound experience. For gaming, I tried this soundbar with God of War (2018) and was impressed to find how great each axe swing and punchy bass note of explosions and Kratos’s testosterone-laden voice sounded. Also, for my moderately sized living room, the sound was perfectly clear and projected well into all seating and standing positions of the room.
The compact size is going to be the real winner for a lot of prospective purchaser’s decisions. At 23” long, 3-1/2” wide, and 2” tall, this can fit onto the desks and entertainment centers of most anyone with ease.
The appearance with the full wraparound speaker mesh looks great, avoiding the cheap plastics and false metal brushed finishes of other soundbars in this price range. The remote works well to control the soundbar and its features. The soundbar utilizes a series of 5 LED lights at the front of the sound bar to visually display which connections and sources you are hooked up to as well as volume and subwoofer level increases and decreases. The lights do turn off after a brief period of time though, so you do not have LED lights glaring in your direction from this soundbar.
Overall, I don’t know if I can recommend this soundbar enough. Whether you are outfitting a PC gaming setup, a living room entertainment center, of even just seeking a reasonably priced soundbar for a bedroom or garage TV set up, this soundbar will undoubtedly please you.

Luxury OLED TV performance at a bargain!

This TV has been a colossal improvement in visual entertainment quality for me. It has turned my living room into what feels practically like a movie theater experience combined with the quality and image fidelity that only OLED TV’s of this caliber can offer. Vizio has truly knocked it out of the park with this TV.
The unboxing: The unboxing process with two people was incredibly explained and intuitive to follow, set up was easy considering the side and cumbrance of this TV! There were even labels like ‘grab here’ ‘don’t grab here’ etc. The unboxing and initial assembly steps were easily accomplished between just my friend, myself, and one phillips head screwdriver.
The set up: This TV was as I expected given the price range it falls in. Everything was plug and play. I plugged in my Dolby Atmos sound bar via the labeled eARC HDMI port, my ethernet cable into the ethernet port, my Playstation 4 HDMI cable into one of the HDMI 2.1 ports and everything turned on a performed just as expected with no hassle. The soundbar in particular was automatically detected and I am even able to control the volume of the soundbar via the remote the TV came with! Smooth. This TV also offers next level cable management. The picture I took was poor with my flash, but the cable channels in the back of the TV perfectly and smoothly stow away all of your cables and route the down and out the back of the base, really enhancing the professional and high-end look of this TV!
The user interference (UI): In reading about this TV before I received it, one of the most common complaints I ascertained was that people felt the UI was choppy, laggy, or not very high quality given the caliber and price of this TV. The TV updated its firmware when I first booted it up and connected to the internet. With the update completed, I feel that Vizio has addressed the concerns of many of the early reviewers. I felt the UI—while lower quality than that of my previous LG TV—was sufficiently easy to navigate and did not seem choppy or laggy at all in my view! The only thing that I saw is that the icons on the Home menu where you can navigate between apps did not look very polished, so perhaps that is what is confusing people.
The remote: Thankfully, this is a relatively small knock given the whole of how awesome this TV is, but I just can’t stand the remote. The ergonomics of it feel wrong and it lacks the excellence and advanced features of other companies remotes like the Magic Remote from LG. I also tried the Vizio smartcast remote app on my iPhone and found, much to my irritation, that to utilize the full features of it you have to do monthly payments or pay a one-time lifetime payment to utilize it! I was not happy here. A quarter of a million dollar Lamborghini should not have a crappy steering wheel—a TV of this caliber and price should not have a remote worthy of a TV 10% of the cost!
The sound: As I mentioned earlier, plugging in my HDMI eARC sound bar was easy as could be and the TV automatically connected, utilized, and even controlled it with the remote! This is good, because boy do you really need an external audio device with this TV. The built-in speakers vibrate terribly at certain volumes and have little to no base. For example, the TV vibrates with the Stranger Things theme above volume 60. Alas, in this era of making TV’s thinner and thinner, there has to be comprises somewhere, and I feel that the speakers probably drew the short straw. Accordingly, though, I think that most people expect or want to buy soundbars, so this is not the worst thing.
The picture quality: As advertised, the blacks are truly so deep and rich as to be expected with an OLED device. To further enhance the image quality, I recommend going into the picture settings in the menu and changing the picture mode to ‘Sports’. This yielded the best contrast and brightness settings I felt. I will be awaiting Tom’s guide or someone else to be coming out with specific calibration settings, but I feel the ‘sports’ setting is sufficient to my needs for now! I have owned 4K TV’s for a few years now, and this one just does seem to blow all the previous LED and nanocell technology TV’s out of the water with this gorgeous OLED panel!
Altogether, I highly recommend this TV. Vizio has delivered an incredible OLED TV here that is ready for the new gaming consoles coming out at a truly, crazily competitive price in this OLED high-performance TV space. This TV has transformed my living room into a gaming and TV watching haven and I am sure it will do the same for you!

Earphones with excellent sound quality!

One paragraph review: Far better bass than my Airpod Pros. More immersive of an audio listening experience, but less convenient in multiple facets such as size and storage. The active noise cancellation (ANC from hereon) is not as occlusive and complete as my Airpod Pros. The ambient monitoring mode is excellent and allows one to hear their surroundings well. Overall, these are good choice for audiophiles more concerned with quality of the audio over convenience or small form factor.
Here is the longer version of what I want to convey about these Ausounds Planar headphones. First of all, they are very comfortable given their form factor of a neck piece wired to the earphones. After a while of wearing these, I forget the neck piece is even there it is so comfortable. The neck piece is a soft touch plastic, suitable and hygienic for exercise or outdoor activities where moisture may be an issue. On that note, they are IPX5 rated (protected from water projecting from a nozzle; mostly dust proof), making these suitable for use in the rain like if you get caught in it while on a run etc. The ear hooks are a surprisingly comfortable soft touch material as well, molding easily to any ear shape and hooking securely. It can be a bit of trick to get these on right the first few times if one doesn’t have experience with in-ear earphone monitors previously, but the included manual illustrates how to do it. One annoyance I am finding with these earphones is that it does not retain the setting you have selected for active noise cancellation when you turn them off and back on. I would prefer if I could boot these up into the monitor setting every time I turn them on and I am not seeing that as being an option.
One thing that is impressing me is how good of a fit the earphones are. They are snug in the ear and are flush to the ear lobe, not sticking far out of the ear at all, which is great for those who like to wear beanies and hats over their ears while still enjoying music. I appreciate that the earphones can magnetically stick together when you have them out of your ears; making them easy to hang around your neck while you interrupt your music. It also pauses your music automatically when you do this! I had really given up on Bluetooth headphones until I tried these Ausounds Planar headphones. I had gotten sick of connection drops, audio stutters and interruptions. These headphones have surprised and impressed me. Thus far in hours of music and podcast listening, I have not heard or noticed any significant stutters or drops. These headphones utilize Bluetooth 5.0. The earphones produce and excellent soundstage for talk radio, podcasts, etc. Listening to podcasts like the Dave Ramsey show, every inflection and emphasis is so crisp to the ear, it feels like I am in the sound booth with them!
Overall, I would most definitely recommend these earphones to those who are seeking an excellent balance in sound quality and build quality!

An excellent headset for any audiophile!

Wow. That is what I must start off by saying with this review. I have tested no fewer than 5 headsets in the past 6 months, and this headset has no right sounding as good as it does for its price when compared to peers in the same price range. The surround sound 7.1 and an incredible amount of EQ customizability using the Roccat Swarm software is what makes this possible.
I tested this headset in two facets: gameplay and music. For music, the expectation that people have for gaming headsets is often far too high. When R&D, materials, and programming have to go into creating a headset with a microphone and audio delivery, there has to be give and take at a given price for what quality of audio and mic you get. This headset delivers excellent audio for just standard music and audio processing. It skips the mistake many of its peers make of heavily emphasizing bass, and instead gives you a balanced audio experience out of the box. This can be tailored to user preference using the Roccat Swarm software, but I actually am surprised to find I like the audio I am getting right out of the box—with one exception being that I went into the settings and activated the surround 7.1 setting (it comes set to 2.0) and wow.
Now for gameplay, any mic that lets you converse with teammates will do the job, so I wasn’t overly concerned with that. My only ding on the mic is I wish it had a foam pop filter covering the mic to minimize the puffs of air being delivered into the chat when talking. What I did focus on was its performance with one of my current favorite games: Hunt Showdown. Hunt is a game all about sound and listening for enemy footsteps, gunshots, movements etc. to give you supremacy in combat. It actually uses Binaural audio, incorporating directional audio signatures into the game play! In plain English, with the right headset like this one, you can localize footsteps etc. with great accuracy and ease, giving you a competitive edge. The right headset with this game gives you a competitive edge, and I did find that this headset when compared to my daily driver gaming headset proved to isolate and localize sounds with greater accuracy.
As for comfort of the headset, this is highly subjective. One individual’s head shape, ergonomics preferences, etc. are going to very much from one to another. For me, this is about a 7 out of 10 for comfort. I have a smaller head for a man, and this barely fits snug enough to provide good seal of the earcups. I also am not that much of a fan of the headband and adjusting metal band being two separate pieces, I think it makes the headset look kind of cheap. But, at this price point, there had to be compromises and this is one that is acceptable to me. The earcups themselves are comfortable with the memory foam and do not cause issues in my gaming endurance.
I only have a few knocks against this headset. The first is that the cord is USB only, no option for 3.5mm input/output. The second is that I far prefer in-line controls to the output volume, mic volume controls on the left earcup. Third is that the cord is not detachable from the headset. This means that in the unfortunate incident that your cat chews up the cord, or you vacuum it by accident (ask me how I know about both of these problems), you will have to replace the whole headset, not just get a new cord.
Overall, I can highly recommend this headset. As part of the Roccat ecosystem (I also have the Vulkan TKL keyboard) it is a fine addition. For anyone seeking a reasonably priced, excellent headset with great audio and comfort, this is a great choice.

Yes, it does scan both sides of a document and a card! I found it to be extremely user friendly, I just had to be patient with the updates to the software and firmware upon first setting it up :)

How long does the battery last and can the ram be upgrade
Battery has averaged 2.5 to 3 hours under normal use and 1 hour or so with gaming (as should be expected in any gaming laptop, really). The RAM can be upgraded given you are patient and careful when you unscrew and pry open the back. 8GB of 2133Mhz RAM is what it has stock in one of the two available slots.

will programs be installed on the ssd before the hdd
Yes, they will be. By default to allow quick bootup and accessing times. You can select the 1TB "D" drive though when you are downloading. I keep all of my games on the 1TB drive and it has worked perfectly.
