A good attempt from Lexip, but misses the mark
on November 22, 2019

I wanted to like this mouse pad. On presentation when I received it, the pad was packaged as beautifully as an Apple product and the mouse pad itself has a solid weight to it that boasts of quality. A braided cable (huge plus) and nice rubber pads underneath to prevent slipping are additional appreciated features. The hard surface of the mousepad itself is has a great feel and texture and tracked wonderfully while playing FPS games like Doom 2016 and COD Modern Warfare (2019). The downsides along with the price though, are what make this mousepad a no go for me at this point.
First of all, when Lexip refers to this as being "customizable" with its RGB, it means that it has a janky touch sensor at the top of the mouse pad that scrolls through 7 options for lighting. This touch sensor is often inadvertently triggered during frenetic gaming sessions and I found it almost useless for having any real control. Lexip has a lighting customization program they use for their Lexip Pixel mouse, it would have been nice to have control of the mouse pad's RGB with that program instead of the touch sensor. Thus, the USB-A power on this mouse pad is really a wasted USB port on your computer (a precious commodity for many). You might as well just plug this in to a wall USB-A adapter for the power purpose this cable serves.
All this together, and it is difficult to recommend this mousepad when there are selections at this price point from Razer, Corsair, etc. that offer full customization as well as other features like calibration. Thanks for reading and hope this helps.

The Linksys Velop MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system gives you more speed, coverage, and capacity than it ever has before. Wi-Fi 6 combined with Velop's Intelligent Mesh™ technology delivers true Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds, up to 5.3 Gbps, to every corner of your home, even the backyard and outdoor smart home devices. Wi-Fi 6 also sends and receives multiple streams of data simultaneously and reduces latency, providing up to 4x more capacity compared to Wi-Fi 5 technology. So, it can handle the demands of up to 50 devices and more, from laptops and gaming consoles to smart home devices and 4K TVs, all competing for the same bandwidth. You'll also always have a more efficient Wi-Fi experience with OFDMA that enables more data to and from your devices in a more streamlined manner. And, with BSS technology, congestion is also minimized eliminating interference from nearby wireless networks to deliver a strong, clear Wi-Fi signal to your home, so you won't have to worry about your neighbor's Wi-Fi interfering with yours again. You'll even have 7x more battery life with Target Wake Time that reduces network interference, allowing your devices to remain in sleep mode longer. The MX10 whole-home Wi-Fi 6 system is a part of Velop's modular system, so if you need more coverage, just add more nodes. Plus, setup is fast with the Linksys app, so you can enjoy the next evolution of Wi-Fi in minutes.

Amazing coverage for my house and future proof
on November 8, 2019

from Central Point, OR
I am so excited to have my pad set up with this mesh wifi system. I have the unfortunate reality of living in a condo that suffers from mystical "dead-spots" akin to geographic vortexes like the Bermuda triangle where I just cannot seem to get internet when I am running a single Wifi router, no matter the strength. Perhaps my 2006 built condo was intended to be a bomb shelter and the walls are lined with lead, but I digress.
These little nodes where super simple and handy to set up. I downloaded the Linksys app onto my phone and following the prompts I had my internet up and running in minutes. The difference is incredible. I can take my laptop into any room in the place and have full coverage at the maximum speeds available to me through my Charter plan right now; about 100mbps. Speaking of this, one of the huge excitements I had for getting this specific mesh WiFi system is that it is WiFi 6 and capable of Gigabit wifi speeds so that when I upgrade my home office, I will be set to go to upgrade my internet and have routers that are capable of the speeds I am paying for (this is a super common tech troubleshooting you will find; people paying for very fast plans but having terrible routers or signal coverage in there situation).
Another thing that excites me about these is the ability to add nodes later if I want to. I have a nice private patio that I am thinking of setting up as an outdoor lounge this summer and if I am having trouble with the internet out there, I only have need to by another separate node of the same compatibility and model from Linksys and I will be set to go!
Overall, for ease of set up, future-proofing, looks, and function, these get a solid 5 stars. Thanks for reading and I hope this was helpful in some small measure!

Awesome, go-anywhere exercise system!

Any personal trainer will tell you that consistency is one of the biggest keys to getting (and staying) in shape. As a lifestyle professional, I often have to travel and/or find myself stuck at home without the energy to want to go to the gym but still wanting to exercise. That is where this TRX system excels. The equipment paired with the included workout programs available via the excellent, well-crafted app have worked in tandem to allow me to get my exercise done in a consistent, full body manner without having to be concerned with where I am located. Just a door frame and a few minutes of easy set up and I am ready to go. The strap based workouts involved in the core movements outlined in their material are challenging and a great change away from just doing none-equipment bodyweight based workouts. Altogether, I am super happy with this workout system and cannot recommend it enough, top to bottom.

An excellent, compact, portable mouse!
on October 30, 2019

This mouse is so simple yet so well designed in its form factor and usefulness. I am pretty hard on my mice normally. I expect them to hold up well to being tossed in my laptop bag or backpack, connect, and work everytime. This mouse is doing exactly that.
So far, I have found no issues with the tracking of the mouse. On all smooth surfaces I have placed it on, it tracks super well. Operating system wise, I have used this on MacOS and Windows and the mouse is also designed to work with Chromebooks, Android 5.0 and newer, as well Surface; talk about versatile!
The form factor is perfect for the traveling individual. It is so slim that it can disappear into a pouch or pocket, and a detail that I love is how it has built in storage for the USB-A transmitter if you need to use this mouse with a device that does not have bluetooth. Switching between modes is easy with the button on the bottom of the mouse and the included instructions offer further clarity on that.
The ergonomics of the mouse are great. It is a palm grip type mouse where small, medium, and large hands should be able to rest the top of the palm and extended fingers over the mouse and achieve a relaxed, flat position while using the mouse.
The mouse is as quiet as promised. I prefer to be unobtrusive in lecture halls and quiet coffee lounges as I am someone who is easily distracted by frequent clicks and other repetitive noises. This is very quiet yet the clicking action is not mushy at all. Each click is firm with a short travel and nice rebound so double clicks and click and drags feel precise.
As for battery, this uses a single (included) AA battery. Apparently, it has up to an 18-month battery life based on it going into an automatic sleep mode when not in use. There is a toggle switch on the bottom for on and off if you want to be even more certain you are getting maximum battery life.
Overall, this mouse does everything promised and fits perfectly into my active, on the go lifestyle with my electronics. I cannot recommend it enough. Thanks for reading!

Great if you don't have sweaty palms
on October 26, 2019
Posted by: Bren
from Central Point, OR
To start this review, I like this mouse. It is apparent that ROCCAT put a lot of effort into making sure the mechanics of this mouse were flawless. I did a side-by-side comparison of this mouse with my Razer Basilisk while doing everyday computer and internet browsing tasks and playing one of my favorite FPS's, Doom 2016. This was not a perfect comparison as the Razer Basilisk is more of a "claw" grip mouse where as the ROCCAT Kain 120 is more of a "palm" grip.
The ROCCAT is plug and play. Even without the ROCCAT software suite, the mouse started up perfectly when plugged in and accepted all of the mouse button mapping in Doom that I had in the settings. Additionally, the DPI button worked right off the get go and I was able to choose between its settings a good DPI settings for my needs.
As for the actual mechanics of the mouse, the clicks of all of the buttons are great; highly responsive during the frenetic gunplay that Doom has to offer. As for the feel, this will be highly subjective based on anatomy and different users' preferences, but the fill of the mouse in the palm of my medium/large hands felt great. The tracking is great too. I used it on my Razer Goliathus mousepad and on the wood of my desk with no troubles tracking. Just don't forget to remove the blue protective tape on the sliding surfaces on the bottoms of the mouse.
The only thing I have to ding a star off this mouse for is that there is no grip texturing or rubberizing whatsoever on any surface of the mouse. For gamers with sweaty palms, this will present an issue as it is going to slip around in your hand much more easily than a mouse like the Basilisk that has texturing and rubber built onto gripping surfaces to enhance the feel and grip.
Overall, I think that this mouse is a great option for anyone looking for a plug and play gaming mouse, but the grip could use work for future iterations.

Scalable, user-friendly software!
on October 24, 2019
Posted by: Bren
from Central Point, OR
Just in my brief time using Premiere 2020, I am already feeling like this is going to be incredible for my workflow and usage.
Something that stands out to me is that they have worked hard in this iteration to make it so that anyone from a stark beginner to a pro/prosumer level can use this software and be able to accomplish great results. There are built in tutorials, helpful walkthroughs, and there are three different platforms for editing: Quick, Guided, and Expert.
I explored each of these settings and found that, depending on my project, I would be happy to go between using any of these. Like iterations in the past, however, this software does require good hardware to run it if someone has expectation of the best performance. My current setup is a more "Gamer" focused custom computer consisting of an Octacore I7 9700K (certainly less than spectacular with a content creation focus as compared to its AMD counterparts, the Ryzen 3700X and 3900X), 16GB DDR4 3000mHz dual channel RAM, a 1TB Crucial P1 NVMe SSD, and a 2080 Super graphics card. All of this together resulted in incredible render times in my projects and snappy performance; all of which is highly demonstrative of a much more streamlined and less power hunger software than past iterations.
Overall, I think Premiere 2020 Elements is going to please the overwhelming majority of users. I know I am looking forward to trying it on my MacBook Pro next!

Lexip wants your business, and I am not upset
on October 21, 2019

These ceramic feet are awesome, easy to install, and show that Lexip cares about you buying their products and KEEPING them. Planned obsolescence is something that, more than ever, has seemed to plague the tech industry. For those of you who do not know, one of its loose definitions is the creation of products with the intention of them having faults or advancements in subsequent models that make them obsolete, hence the term planned obsolescence. These ceramic feet in the ever stylish Lexip manner show that they want you to use the heck out of their mouse (perhaps mice one day here soon) and keep on replacing the parts that wear out or could use a different feel from the beginning, like these feet. With all of these things in mind, I give these a solid 5 stars. Well done, Lexip!

Learning curve, but beneficial in specific uses
on October 21, 2019
Posted by: Bren
from Central Point, OR
This is a mouse that is as unique in its uses as are its looks and namesake. The idea of a mouse with this, succinctly put, is to be able to accomplish better three dimensional and multi-axis control over program functions you are interfacing with on your computer, be it game controls, Blender models, etc. The way the mouse accomplishes this is unique in that the mouse itself has tilting functions along the x and y axis (just like joysticks on arcade machines), toggle control with the side control stick, and finally with the usual multi-directional tracking most mice have these days. To this end, with practice, the mouse is marvelous at what it is trying to accomplish. Games like Civilization V are so much easier to manage and navigate with the side toggle instead of arrow keys on your keyboard. With the software, mapping the axis and toggle controls to do what you want in various use cases is made simple, all while using what is honestly a cool, conversation starting mouse among fellow nerds. Overall, I would rate this mouse highly for anyone who is wanting to branch out on their productivity work-control and is looking for a different feel and/or edge in games!

Awesome printer, easy to set up!
on October 14, 2019
Posted by: Bren
from Central Point, OR
When looking into getting a print that uses ink bottles instead of cartridges, I was nervous. I assumed that this printer would be a major hassle setting up and that the ink itself would probably be difficult to manage and get all over the place. I was, thankfully, totally wrong! The included manual is super easy to follow and each step of the setup was super smooth. The ink bottles and the printer have a way of interfacing where the ink does not begin pouring out of the bottle until the spout of the bottle is fully locked and pushed down onto the printer fully. The WIFI connection using the Canon download from their website made setup really easy too. Further more, this printer prints quickly and with the extra included TWO black ink bottles, I am dubious as to when I will next need a refill of ink for this printer. Overall, for someone who needs a straight up printer without scanning abilities and just needs to print lots of quality documents, fast, and in color when needed, I would say a printer like this takes the cake. Definitely 5 stars!

Great, User-friendly Coffee maker
on October 11, 2019
Posted by: Bren
from Central Point, OR
I really like this coffee maker. It seems to be one of the few I have had over the years where the machine seems to have been designed to work around people's needs and not making people have to work to its needs and quirks. For one, I appreciate how all the important parts of this coffee maker are dishwasher safe. I like just being able to put the filter basket, carafe, and lid in the dishwasher when they start to get gross and not have to worry about it further than that. Another thing I like is how they made the included scoop color coded and matched to the carafe for measuring how many scoops is needed for a given amount of cups of coffee. I vacillate between using my Keurig for personal use and this coffee maker for guests and days where I need more java-juice and this maker makes it easy. Overall, I highly recommend this coffee maker. 5 stars for sure!
