Good looks but lacking in audio quality

These are some of the better-looking smart eyeglass frames I have yet encountered. I currently also own the Razer Anzu frames, and they are what I am primarily drawing a comparison with as I know that along with Bose frames, those will show up in consumers' search parameters if they are looking for smart eyeglass frames.
These Echo frames are very refined and have good build quality. I appreciate the squared off look of the earpieces as they do not have excessive bulging on the sides that would attract an observer’s eye as ugly. These are one of the only smart frames I have tried that could easily pass as just regular eyeglass frames. The setup of these was also extremely easy. I am already an Amazon Alexa device user with lots of Echo Dots in my house as well as some Alexa tethered devices like my Roomba, so setup of these frames was super easy. I appreciate how easily these integrated into my Amazon Alexa ecosystem. The included storage case is extremely high quality and the packaging in general of the glasses was up to Apple quality in presentation and ease of opening. The build quality of the glasses is great and far outstrip my Razer Anzu glasses. There is even adjustability in the ear hooks available if needed. There is a little too much high gloss black plastic overall though; I would have preferred to see a bit more aluminum or other lightweight alloys to have a truly outstanding appearance.
The glaring downfall with these glasses is the poor audio quality. For anything other than conversational podcasts or phone calls, the audio on these is extremely poor. There is virtually no bass at all, not even a fractional attempt at it, and the highs and mids are tinny sounding and distorted at above half volume. I put as much time as I could into the Alexa app looking for EQ controls to try to attain some blend of audio that I could stand, but no such controls existed. I say this all with the disclaimer that I am admittedly an audiophilic snob and I have high expectations of higher dollar headphones and other audio devices when it comes to the quality of my music. These just don’t do it for me. During phone calls, I felt that the audio was clipped and sometimes distorted as the person on the other end of the call was talking. The microphone, however, is better than my other smart frames I have tried. My wife reported that while the mic sounded closer to a speakerphone on the Echo glasses, they don’t have an echo (no pun intended) and sound clear. So, if one cares less about the audio experience on their end than a call recipient’s end, these are okay.
If you are a huge Amazon product fan or truly enjoy using Alexa as a dedicated virtual assistant in your work or productivity flow day to day, then these glasses are a good choice. Just know that you are not purchasing these for a great listening experience as these are lacking in that area in my opinion. Overall, I give these four stars with one removed for the poor audio experience. If these were just headphones or earphones, I would give it 2 stars, but these glasses are intended for more than just music and accordingly succeed in the other areas they were designed, like the use of Alexa and alerting you of push notifications on your phone. Great investment for a high-print volume household

If you are in a household or home office that has a lot of printing needs (in my example, multiple highschoolers) then you are looking at the right printer.
Let’s face it, ink cartridge printers are expensive to refill and are harmful to the environment. They create a ton of waste, and they feel like a dog chasing their tail with always having to replace one cartridge or another. This Smart Tank printer is so much more our style. The bottles of ink, work for THOUSANDS of pages, and at less than $20 each to my research, they come out as far far cheaper than OEM cartridges of similar print capacity. HP claims 8000 black pages and 6000 color pages with the first included ink bottles and I believe that. We have printed a few hundred pages already and it seems like we have barely made a dent in the easy to see ink supply meters.
Usefully, this has multiple sources of connection including airprint from our Apple devices, which is ultra-handy. The flatbed scanner is useful for scanning in individual documents and cards. If you are wanting an automatic document feeder (ADF), the 7301 version of this printer has that. We don’t do a ton of scanning, so the flatbed scanner is good enough for our needs.
Altogether, while the price of entry is high, the price of continued use is low and this print should last for years and years to come. I think that this printer should be at the top of the list for people looking for a printer to meet household or home office high volume printing needs. An outstanding portable scanner, can scan cards!

I am extremely pleased with this portable scanner! Portable scanners have come along way over the years, and this is an example of one that is worth its price. For one, it yields incredibly crisp and high DPI images that really gather in the detail off pages, from both sides! Yes, this is a double-sided scanner, which is better than my 1-1/2 year old all in one printer can do with its ADF.
For reference, I put the scanner next to my 2015 13” Apple MBP, and as you can see it has a very compact footprint that takes up next to no space, which makes it truly portable. It also has quite a bit more heft and robust structure to it than expected from initial looks, which makes me trust that much more that it can act as a portable scanner. I find it irritating reading reviews where people are expecting this scanner and others like it to perform like primary workstation scanners, when that is really not its designed use case. What I do find extremely impressive about this portable scanner is that they built in a card scanner that ACTUALLY WORKS. It scanned BOTH SIDES of my driver’s license in one go, and holy cow is that handy! I have had some janky experiences with even full-sized scanners in the past. The dedicated card slot senses the card automatically, and when you are in the Imageformula software it will automatically scan it and then you can save it into a folder with ease. I have my OneDrive folder setup on the Imageformula software so that I can simply scan and name each document and then it is automatically in the cloud!
Overall, I am highly impressed with this portable scanner. It is ridiculously good and is worth its price. My only slight adjustment I would recommend to it in the future is the inclusion of an additional micro-USB to USB-C cable as that is the direction many devices are going and this included micro-USB to USB-A cable is not going to work for some computers, including the newer Macbooks without a dongle adapter. I also want to note that when I plugged it in the first time, I did have to follow prompts and go through a firmware update that took me to Canon’s website to download it and get it installed. It took about 10 minutes, but it was worth it to get this great portable scanner up and going!

Flexible and expandable security camera setup!

I am highly impressed with these cameras. The fact that everything is connecting up via wifi is well appreciated as someone who has long been of the “hard wired” mindset. I found the install to be relatively straight forward. I had to be strategic about placement as these do require an AC plug in for power and I had to run a couple of extension cords for the install. Nothing too bad though and I am certain I can clean up the setup later.
The 4K video from these cameras is highly crisp and the lens seems to gather light well in the daylight and twilight hours. I noticed that at nighttime, the shutter speed does seem to slow down as the infrared turns on and this leads to some images of passersby ghosting or stuttering. I have noticed the same several second delay on motion detection that other reviewers have pointed out, but nothing that is extraordinary in the space of wifi connected cameras.
I really appreciate the included 1TB NVR, that can hold at least a week or two of recording footage with ease and the fact that I can access it over the app instead of my TV like my old hard wire setup is excellent.
Altogether, for ease of expandability and ease of install, I would highly recommend this Night Owl setup!

The best kitchen appliance we own!

In a world of chaos, where cooking home cooked meals after long shifts seems like an impossibility, this amazing air fryer has come into our lives to help us cook delicious air-fried meals not only delicious but incredibly convenient!
It is amazing being able to conveniently and easily use both baskets separately, together, or one at a time. Many of our meals include air fried vegetables and it was always inconvenient with our old air fryer to have to go one at a time on each batch of vegetables. Now we can start two separate foods in the different air fryers at different times and temperatures as needed, which is awesome!
One reason why I love this air fryer so much is that unlike many of its counterparts, both the crisper plates and the baskets are approved by Ninja to be washable in a dish washer! They do have an asterisk on the baskets that this can shorter their lifespan, but when talking about convenience it is incredibly nice to be able to just stick these in the dishwasher when done cooking. The truth is that many air fryer baskets get burnt out prematurely by old grease and food particles getting burnt and baked onto the bottom of the baskets which overtime will greatly reduce their efficiency. So, it stands as important to make sure you wash your crisper plates and air fryer baskets.
A couple of features I would like to see added to future iterations of this product are auto-pause on the respective heating element if a basket is pulled out, and an auto-start or delay timer on the individual baskets so you could have them set to automatically start at a given time. Also, this is not so much of a downside but just wanting people to be aware to double check the dimensions of this air fryer against their counter-space. We put our air fryer in the pantry as it does take a lot of space up lengthwise. Surprisingly, this is no wider than our previous 4-quart single basket air fryer. Otherwise, I have minimal to no complaints at all about this Foodi air fryer! Thanks for reading and hope this helps guide your purchase!

Quality blender, at a high price

TLDR: It cannot be argued that this is a great blender. In my experience with it, it holds up to the Vitamix name in its build quality and ability to produce excellent, silky-smooth smoothies. However, it also cannot be argued that you are paying for a brand name blender here and that it lacks some of the features and conveniences that blenders a hundred dollars less offer. Is it worth it? That will be up to you.
Opening this blender felt like opening up an Apple product. It was thoughtfully packaged and its minimalist appearance along with high quality materials are sure to stun. I have no doubt that this blender will last for years to come. It has a 1.2hp motor which is adequate for most of my blending needs, including chopping up as for smoothies. Without a pulse function, though, it feels like a finicky process to get the wheel selector of this blender to do its job at times.
Overall, I am satisfied with this blender and as a fan of the full sized Vitamix, I can see how this is a great addition or substitution in the use case of someone who wants a quality blender but doesn’t need all the bells and whistles. Perfect for overlanding!

As more and more people get into the outdoors, responsible methods have to be considered for the enjoyment of activities like campfires. As an off-road enthusiast who enjoys driving to remote destinations in the pacific northwest, I always find it depressing to arrive at areas used for camping to find them littered with ill-suited campfire rings and campfire debris all over the place. The best solution to avoid these is to bring along propane or wood fire pits such as this Farenheit Flare fire pit!
This is the perfect size for a small campground area and to load into the back of a truck or SUV. At 10 pounds and 13.5 inches across, it is light enough and small enough that it can be handled and stowed easily. The total height of it when set up is precisely 12 inches, and when stowed it is just less than 7 inches. The design of it allows firewood to burn hot with plenty of oxygen being fed to it from all angles through the ports in the sides and bottom while allowing for collection of ash in the bottom stand portion. I am really excited to add a grate to this for some grilling. My only wish is that this fire pit would have come with a cover, even a cheap one, as it is prone to dings and scratches in its bare state. Aside from this wish though, I find myself extremely happy with this portable, responsible fire pit and highly recommend it to anyone that likes a fire out in the wilderness or backyard!

One of the best Roomba options!

This Roomba has been an amazing part of our cleanup routine in our house! Roombas have been controversial topic over the years—whether you are referring to the horror stories of them smearing dog poop everywhere or their less than satisfactory cleanup work, people don’t know what to think about them sometimes. I can tell you that yes, this version of the Roomba is amazing and between its self-emptying capability, peace of mind with its P.O.O.P system to avoid pet waste (Pet Owner Official Promise) and smart mapping, I have grown to love it.
The setup of this machine was easy. I got the dock, or “Clean Base” set up and plugged in and placed the Roomba on the charging contact pads to get it started. I really love the design of the clean base with this one. It is not as tall as previous models, and it is somehow more pleasant and refined looking to my tastes. I actually don’t mind if guests see this sitting in my dining room. The Roomba turned out to be more than a quarter charged already from the factory! I downloaded the iRobot app and went through the setup of this Roomba on my Wi-Fi network. The app guided me easily through the process and before I knew it, I was giving my Roomba a name and sending it off on its first cleanup job!
I live in a 1300 square foot condo and the first cleanup everywhere job was a long one, over 3-1/2 hours to cover 721 square feet for mapping and vacuuming (according to the app), a mix of carpet, hardwood, and linoleum with a stop for 1 hour and 24 minutes in for it to go charge itself and then get back to work, which it did automatically! We are very clean people and vacuum at least once a week if not twice and I just could not believe how much hair and junk was in the bag of the self-emptying station! The second time I sent the Roomba to look around the house and figure out the map of the place, I found out that in the app I could just send it on a mapping mission, which when a lot quicker. I then was able to use the app to label rooms, create boundaries and no entry points, and I even set my kitchen and entry as “clean zones” so that the Roomba knows to spend extra time there vacuuming.
I am now getting a kick out of grinding coffee and sending the Roomba in to the kitchen to clean up the floor after me, sending it to the living room to vacuum the carpet and leave behind perfectly geometric lines and patterns for our guests to ooh and ahh over and tease us about. The Roomba has showed itself to be more than a match for my wife’s several foot long hairs she sheds, dog food kibbles, and everything else in between.
I was very impressed watching the Roomba get itself unstuck from a loose bathroom lug it sucked up into it. It attempted different angles of departure until it was able to get loose. The only hang-up with this Roomba, literally, was laces from my shoes getting caught in it. But the machine paused and alerted me on the app it was having trouble with a bumper, and I went and found it in its state. To find it, I was able to use the app to locate the Roomba and I heard its little chime from my inside of my closet! Another aspect worth mentioning is how quiet this machine is. My cat, which is typically fearful and hides from our full sized vacuum, enjoys following this Roomba around! Maybe it is going to turn into the next meme of a cat that rides the Roomba around in a shark costume, haha!
Altogether, this thing is awesome. It is a steep price, but wow does it perform. I have had zero problems whatsoever during my couple weeks of owning it now and over a dozen cleaning jobs. I love the uniform, clean lines it leaves on my carpeted floors and the much cleaner floors of my kitchen and dining room now. If you are here looking seriously at buying it, I would say just go for it and get ready to be as impressed as I have been!

A Balanced Gaming Laptop for School!

If you are looking for a moderately affordable (less than $1000 dollar), reasonably equipped gaming laptop to double as your school or productivity machine, this may just be the right one for you!
The first of several reasons why is the amazing battery life. JarrodTech on Youtube talks about it, but this G15 series of Dell Gaming laptop has one of the most outstanding battery life lengths for a gaming laptop released this year. This trim you are looking at in particular is equipped with 1080p FHD screen that is smooth and buttery with its 120Hz refresh rate but is also less demanding on the battery as compared to its higher resolution counterparts. The only detractor here is that I believe this model is equipped with a 53-watt hour battery as opposed to the 90 watt plus ones of the higher end trim levels of this laptop. Another area this trim level has some reductions is in it’s I/O. The two side USB-A ports on the right side are USB 2.0 only, one with power sharing, one without. This is okay for me as these ports are where I am running my mouse and headset from anyway. The rear ports have a USB-C with 3.2 connection and a USB A 3.0 port to my knowledge.
The size and build quality of this laptop speaks to compromise in the right areas of the build while succeeding in remaining high quality. The keyboard deck is strong and doesn’t have a lot of flex, allowing for easy typing action and mitigating the rebound or “trampoline” feeling of typing on other plastic keyboard deck equipped laptops I have tried in the past. Alas, what it demonstrates in sturdiness comes at the cost of weight; it is a heavy machine at over 5Ibs. Factor this into your decision making as you well, but I certainly have no fear of lugging this and its 180W charger around.
The keyboard is another reason why I can recommend this laptop to a student. The keystrokes are very quiet and accurate with no depth or looseness issues. It is like a stealthy chicklet style MacBook Pro with scissor-switch-like strokes. It makes for great typing and is very quiet in a library or lecture hall setting. The lighting is great with just a mild red orange that matches the accents on the rest of the laptop. I think RGB is gimmicky and eventually underutilized by most once the initial enthusiasm dies away, so the coloring of this laptop is perfect for me. The trackpad is similar in that it is reasonable for this trim of laptop and does not seem to have any performance issues. It is a springboard type track pad (firmer clicks at the top, softer at the bottom) and is has a matching touch surface to the speckled plastic of the rest of the laptop.
I am very pleased with the included 512GB NVME drive. While a little small for today’s gaming file downloads (Doom Eternal is 79gb!), it is sufficiently fast for the price paid with a 2200mb/s read speed and 500mb/s write speed. The 8GB of 3200mHz RAM is up to the task for most daily users’ needs and allows for zippy multitasking through lots of open programs and chrome tabs—this being enhanced by the stellar Ryzen 5 5600H CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. A problem I have had with Dell laptops in the past, but not this one, is coil whine. I am glad to find it is absent here. All of this with the discrete graphics (described below) being effectively cooled by this laptop’s intake and exhaust system. It should be noted that this is an example of a laptop that, based on its design, could benefit from a cooling fan pad or stand to allow for maximum cool airflow. It wouldn’t be advisable to game with this on a bed or any other surface that stifles its air intake.

The RTX 3050 discrete graphics is the real compromise and decision-making point of whether to get this laptop. Unless you are new to the subject or have been hiding under a rock, you know that silicon is hard to get right now and ergo, the prices and availability of anything utilizing graphics cards is astronomical currently. As such, this 3050 is what this Dell laptop comes equipped with. With 4gb of VRAM, this is not a top-level gaming laptop by any stretch. I think that Best Buy’s listing this as “High-End” graphics card according to their purchasing guide is a big stretch, unless one is comparing it to an Ultrabook or the like. The 3050 is an entry level graphics card in this current generation of NVIDIA graphics and is going to yield you 60fps only at low or medium settings on most newer AAA title games. I played Battlefield 1 and I managed on Operations to get 60fps+ on preset medium settings. I really enjoyed the gameplay and considering that my main gaming PC has a 2080 super with a 9700K CPU, I still managed to enjoy the gameplay on this great laptop!
Altogether, you should put this under serious consideration for being the gaming laptop you choose if the above appeals to you. I think that this is a Dell gaming laptop with Alienware inspired aesthetics and, frankly, I am absolutely digging it. Thank for reading and good luck making your purchasing decision!

I always have believed that something is wrong with me, because regardless of my years of working out and participating in local races, my legs still get so dang sore after workouts. I have tried many solutions including dietary supplements, ice baths, massage, etc., and I still get sore. But then these boots came to my attention and my recoveries have been improved beyond all

Many people are familiar with compression boot therapy by now. Chances are that if you are reading this review, you have been looking around at compression boots or boots to help increase the speed and comfort of your recoveries from intense workouts. So, I feel that my best role is to tell you more about why you should consider the PRO over the lower trim offerings from Therabody.
If you are a tech nut like me, you will really appreciate the wireless smart
controls. The app they put together for this system is pretty slick and the ability to have full control over the device with the app is really killer. I like having the ability to control the pressure of each of the four zones as I have learned quickly that my calves basically need to be in a steel vise to get appropriate compression whereas my thighs will be having me tear up if they get squeezed too hard. The compression programs that are included are really slick too. There is one that is called Warm-Up which I think will actually be useful prior to a long bike ride on a cold morning so that I am not all stiff.

I appreciate how easy this device is to set up, take down, and clean up too. I am a germaphobe; even towards my own germs, and I appreciate that I can get in here and clean out the accumulation of skin cells and sweat. I also like that the RecoveryAir PRO pneumatic device is compatible with other compression products in the Therabody lineup, so if you buy this
package, expandability is an option!
