Tom Selleck as Jesse Stone. This is the latest in a series of films featuring Robert B Parker's flawed hero Paradise Police Chief Jesse Stone. A good mystery unfolds with a few twists and turns with excellent support from several characters from the series especially William Devane as his therapist and Kohl Sudduth as Luther "Suitcase " Simpson. Like the books they are a pleasant read a tale told well and with style.

A Great Story Well Told

This is a funny, biting, warm and honest look at one of the darker chapters of Hollywood history. The blacklisting of people because of their political views. This story revolves around the genius of Dalton Trumbo and how he and other writers survived those years. The story is well written and performed, especially by Bryan Cranston, Diane lane and Helen Mirren, with excellent support from John Goodman, Louis C.K. and many others. A story about a person's convictions and how they were put to the test but persevered.

There is something about an English gangster film, especially these quirky little ones that are so much fun to watch. The locations are wonderful, the stories well told and the performances are extraordinary. Lean, sparse stories that are told with flair and gusto. I enjoyed these very much.

I know this was an academy award winning film, but while it is beautiful to look at there are issues.The story is oddly crafted and told much to slowly. The performances are good but I couldn't help but think of it as look at what we can do instead of should we be doing this?

This Sequel Does Not Disappoint

The story takes up a few years after the original, but many of the familiar faces return. Included the main cast of Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman and Angela Bassett. The untimely death of Britain's Prime Minister brings the heads of state of most of the free world to London to pay their respects. Chaos ensues and right prevails in an excellent sequel to Olympus has Fallen. There is the right amount of pathos, humor and action to keep most engrossed in the story.

This classic, if that can be said of a film shot in the 1985, is a hilarious look into the life of investigative reporter Irwin Fletcher or Fletch as he prefers to be called. The story involves drug dealing, murder for hire, crooked cops, romance and a huge amount of laughs along the way.

If you love classic Hollywood don't miss this Chen Brothers comedy. They take a real person (sort of) and put him in an unusual circumstance involving his biggest studio star. The cast spoofs Gene Kelly musicals, Esther Williams pictures, Singing Cowboys and the Red Menace of the 1950's all with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
