The Next Installment of Ben Affleck

This movie got a lot of grief in reviews from people who felt disappointed after getting hit movies like The Town and Argo from director Ben Affleck. I think Live By Night is a fantastically shot period piece, but does slog a little bit in the second act. I would say if you're a big fan of gangster films, then you will like this film.

There are some great special features that make this blu ray worth adding to your collection that includes actor/writer/director commentary by Ben Affleck, character studies on the men and women of Live By Night, deleted scenes, and a feature on the writer of the original book.

Worth Every Penny

Being a skeptic when it comes to new technology when it first comes out, I tend to wait for new tech to be out for a while before purchasing it. I'm the case of 4K HDR, I'd been waiting about two years before jumping into the pool. After buying this player to go with my LG OLED Curve, this is one of the best purchases in my life. The color is more brilliantly realized and vibrant and the sound is crystal clear and perfect.

If you're a movie aficionado and love the in-home theater experience and want to get the most out of your tv, I cannot recommend this player enough. Sony makes a perfect product to support the format that they helped develop and FINALLY offer us a player that is affordable and doesn't try to gauge you. The other biggest benefit is that the player not only works for 4K HDR discs, but also traditional blu ray, 3D blu ray, DVD, and even CDs. If you're looking to upgrade, this is the one to get.

Classic Storyline Adapted Modernly

For all the comic book fans out there, The Judas Contract was a MASSIVELY popular storyline from the 80's at a time where Teen Titans was the top selling comic title at D.C. Comics and this storyline proved why. Fans have been waiting for an animated adaptation of this since 2007 when it was announced but then shelved because it was deemed "too unpopular" to be successful by the studio. This adaptation does update the story and swap out some characters with others, such as Blue Beetle for Cyborg. But this movie fits beautifully into the cinematic universe created and is great fun for fans new and old.

If you're a fan of the classic New Teen Titans run of comics from the 80's, you'll love this blu ray as one of the special features is a reuniting of writer Marv Wolfman and George Perez as they talk about their run on the Titans and the legacy they left with the characters. This is a must own for any and every D.C. Comics fan.

the follow-up to the 1987 cult classic, RoboCop 2 isn't AS good as RocopCop 1, BUT if you're like me and grew up in the 90's, the Robocop movies were an integral part of your childhood. FINALLY, Scream Factory has released a collectors edition with all new special features, director and cast commentary, and a new 2k upscaling in the video quality. The film looks absolutely gorgeous, but the real value of this blu ray is found in the special features. Cannot recommend enough if you love delving in-depth into troubled productions that show interviews and commentaries where the director and cast are completely candid and honest about their feelings on the film.

Long Live RoboCop

Great Release for a Great Price, Subpar Movie

As a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I've bought all the past releases regardless of how I've liked the movies and this is no different. I found Doctor Strange to be a very subpar movie, but the 3D collectors edition comes packed with interesting extras and Best Buy offers it at a great price. I would recommend this on 3D for the special effects and the special features, but that's about it.

Well Worth The Money

I loved this movie in theaters, so I was very excited for the blu ray release. The special features are very good and in-depth for all the die hard Star Wars fans out there. My only complaint is that the 3D blu ray edition was only available in steelbook and not in regular slipcase format. Other than that, great release and great packaging for a fun movie. Highly recommend!
