This box set features the complete epic journey of Resident Evil from beginning to end, with all six films based on the hit video game. Included are Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Resident Evil: Retribution, and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Excellent six-film Blu-ray set. "Resident Evil" fans should really like this set at a terrific Best Buy price. Picture quality is excellent on all six films. Highly recommended.
This is the second 3D "Resident Evil" film produced and the fifth film in the saga. It is another excellent 3D film that has a number of good "in-your- face" 3D effects, e.g., guns pointed and fired at the viewer, blood flung directly at the camera, blades and other items pushed right out of the screen. Depth is also enhanced in this super non-stop action film.
Alice does some amazing flips and over-the-top battle and fight scenes. Also, some characters that I thought were dead and gone reappear- much like the walking dead (zombies) in the "Resident Evil" films. Some characters also change sides and become good or bad at different times.
This Blu-ray film is very clear, with good color, and proper use of 3D without the common blurring found in other 3D films. It is sad that many directors of both 3D and 2D films don't know how to use rack-focus shots properly to avoid the super blurring between foreground and background people and objects that I have seen in a number of films. The 3D is properly handled here and this film is a great addition to any 3D library.
I recommend this film to any fan of 3D and the "Resident Evil" series.
This is a review for my first Resident Evil 3D film "Afterlife". It is the fourth film in the series and the first one that was made in 3D. I love 3D and was very pleased to see that the last three Resident Evil films were made in 3D.
This Blu-ray film has very good 3D effects and carries the "Alice" storyline along nicely. There are effects that come towards you as well as good depth in many of the shots.
All in all, I would recommend this film to fans of the Resident Evil saga, Milla Jovovich as Alice, lots of non-stop action, and fans of 3D films.
P.S. The Best Buy price for this 3D film is excellent!
Lots of action in this film, and I found the CGI work to be very good. I liked the interaction of Dwayne Johnson and "George" the albino gorilla. The storyline was interesting and there were other actors in the film who did a good job with their parts. Watch for the Texas agent who moves from antagonist to an interesting helper. Also, the special features are very good. They explain and show the tremendous work involved in bringing things to "life" in the film. The 3D is also good and complements the film very well. I recommend this film to those who like lots of action, monsters, and Dwayne Johnson. It held my attention throughout and was exciting.
After all the negative reviews I read about this film, I was expecting to see a real bomb! Surprisingly, the film was not bad. There was a lot of action with a storyline that was okay. Acting was okay and the story held my interest. However, it was the 3D CGI effects that were good- especially in the robot and alien creature battle scenes. This is, of course, a very subjective thing. I love 3D so I am particularly looking for good CGI effects. While I don't think that the film is as good as the first "Pacific Rim", it was not bad. All in all, I found the film to be better than I expected. It is worth a viewing to see for yourself.
Death Wish 2018 is a great reimagining of the Death Wish film series. Bruce Willis does a great job as DOCTOR Kersey (a switch from the Charles Bronson films where Kersey was an architect). The director has done a fine job in presenting a different take on the vigilante story emphasizing a doctor who saves lives who becomes the vigilante who takes lives. The dialog is good and crisp, the action scenes well-done, the actors do a fine job with their roles, and the director paces the film well. I highly recommend this film to those people who enjoy the Death Wish series and like Bruce Willis' action films and his wry sense of humor.
The film storyline is not very strong- it is just average. There are many battle scenes (just like so many other films nowadays); however, the CGI is not especially well done. It is quite noticeable throughout the film. As with much of Zack Snyder's work, the film comes off as being quite bleak. However, the major flaw is that the 3D is poorly done. There is a tremendous amount of ghosting and the amount of background and foreground out-of-focus shots is annoying. Sloppy rack focus work in so many places makes the film unenjoyable to watch. (I have not viewed the 2D version of the film.) Acting was okay but nothing exceptional. Perhaps with better direction the acting and all other aspects of the movie process (especially 3D cinematography) could have been much better. In summary, I am very disappointed in what was done here as an introduction to the Justice League. This is sad because I grew up in the fifties enjoying DC Comics, and the Justice League was important to the whole DC super-hero world. Snyder has done a disservice to the Justice League and all of its fans. I cannot in all honesty recommend this film.
I enjoyed this film in 3D. The added depth effects, snow, and a few outward extensions from the TV screen in 3D add to the film's enjoyment. The film was well-acted (especially Ryan Gosling) by even the newcomers. Story-line was okay and kept my interest- especially wondering if K (Ryan Gosling) was Deckard's (Harrison Ford) son. The film can be enjoyed as a stand-alone; however, I believe that it has added meaning (and perhaps enjoyment) to those viewers who are familiar with the original Blade Runner film.

I was very pleased with Argento's Dracula as an effective 3D film and also as an interesting version of Dracula- much in the style of the old Hammer horror films. There was lots of blood and gore, some nudity, and good acting. I was very impressed with the color, sharpness of the film, and the effective use of 3D to enhance the overall film. The Director Argento did a good job of pulling everything together to produce an entertaining film.
