This Ain't a Soundtrack, This is a Masterpiece

Purple Rain the movie is a Rock movie CLASSIC and the same should be said about it's album counterpart. The only hiccup on the stunning album is that Apollonia 6's 'S#x Shooter' and The Time's songs performed in the film are not included. But, every song Prince performed in the film is here.

I Dare You To Live Through This!!!!
on January 16, 2016

Verified Purchase:Yes
I must start by saying Courtney Love is not only one of my favorite artists, but also one of the most underappreciated forces in Rock history. Hole's "Live Through This" is one of those huge statements in alternative music (really music in general) that still remains as poignant and crucial as it was then as it is today. Live Through This offers an unfiltered, unflinching and uncut view into one of Rock's most interesting minds. Love spills all of herself into this album and demands nothing but to be heard without judgment in return. Her anger is felt 'Violet', her frustration 'That I Would Die', her disgust 'Asking For It' and her sadness 'Doll Parts' all through the medium of poetic spellbinding. Without this album, there would be no blueprint or map for many of the female (and male) that have come after it's release.

Go back to the beginning and relive every gripping moment of the Emmy-winning AMC series with all seven episodes of Breaking Bad: Season One. Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is a high school chemistry teacher and your typical family man. But when doctors diagnose Walter with terminal lung cancer, he cooks up a lucrative scheme to ensure that his wife Skyler (Anna Gunn) and cerebral-palsy afflicted son Walter, Jr. (RJ Mittle) are provided for when he's gone. Enlisting the help of his former student Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), Walter begins manufacturing and selling meth. Under the pseudonym Heisenberg, Walter gains a ferocious reputation while turning a tidy profit. Little does Walter realize that this lawless enterprise may be doing his beloved family more harm than good.

When I say Breaking Bad is one of the GREATEST shows EVER to grace a TV, trust that it is truth. Do yourself a favor and just buy the complete box-set if you can afford it. I promise you're in for a action-packed, darkly comedic and high drama, internal morality battle of a treat! If I were to say anything more it would give this awesome show away, so just get to watchin' already.

Dear White People...Really Everybody, LISTEN UP!
on January 16, 2016

Verified Purchase:Yes
Dear White People is a shining example of pure creativity and being socially focused. The film focuses on a group of college students from different cliques, who all begin to realize that they share one of the same plights being...racism/accepted racial separation. The way that subject is addressed and examined in a fresh way by a fresh voice is astounding. Any key topic going on like: LGBT awareness, interracial dating, internalized racism and beauty standards are all discussed with wit and honesty. Dear White People also showcases some of the best young actors, destined to become the next generation of greats. This is definitely a movie to see because the conversations afterwards need to be had.

No Debate...PARTY is Here to STAY!
on January 16, 2016
Posted by: SUGAHOOH22
Verified Purchase:Yes
Two by PARTYNEXTDOOR is BEYOND! PARTY ups the sensuality, euphoria, trap-vibe and smoky mystery on his sophomore success. The thing that makes PARTY so great is that he created his own musical lane, style and vocal presence, thus making him UNIQUE (in a mixed-genre of fellow artists who all sound pretty identical). He showcases a more tender side on this album unlike his debut and various mixtapes and collabs. Great examples of a more lush and quasi-sweet delivery are: 'S*x On The Beach', 'Grown Woman' and 'Muse' (which is full of the excitement of making a new love connection and is the album STANDOUT). The album also features the hit collaboration 'Recognize' featuring his buddy Drake. All the way around this is a solid album. It serves as the perfect prelude for seduction with its woozy whip appeal or the quintessential album to ride around the city to (check out the superb 'SLS'). Also, from what I know Best Buy is your best bet to buy a physical copy in a store.

Tove Lo Serves a Promising Debut!
on January 16, 2016
Posted by: SUGAHOOH22
Verified Purchase:Yes
Tove Lo is a bright new voice in Pop and I'm excited to hear what's next from her. Queen Of The Clouds features: the addictive 'Habits (Stay High)', brazen 'Talking Body' and best album cut 'Moments'. She proves that she has the potential to become one of the next Pop LEGENDS here. But, some songs seem a bit dry in comparison to the hit singles listed earlier.

Demi's Metamormphosis Begins, Finally...Kinda.
on December 8, 2015
Posted by: SUGAHOOH22
Verified Purchase:Yes
Demi Lovato is determined to put her teen pop princess past behind her on 'Confident' but unfortunately, her latest LP hits a few snags. The stellar dance thrash of "Cool For The Summer" (lead single and one of the strongest tracks) does an amazing job of setting more of an adult tone with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics, slithering seduction-ready vocal and sugar-blazed production. But, honestly CFTS along with the title track (the album's official second single) and the twinkly "Wildfire" are the only songs that REALLY accomplish her goal somewhat and match the totally "FLEEK-tastic" vampy temptress/warrior image and promo displayed during this album era. The problem is that the freshness of the production and Demi's attitude on those songs in particular, are not utilized enough here. Other songs like: "Old Ways" (which has a great message), "Kingdom Come" (which sneakily sounded good, until the quirky instrumental breakdown and Iggy Azalea's flimsy verse stifled it), "Lionheart" and the sweet pre-marriage proposal "Yes" (as sweet as it is), simply lack the FRESHNESS that the three knockouts, mentioned earlier, have. They sound stale in comparison. While those songs fail to really snatch wigs or attention... Demi's soaring voice on the album's ballads pick up some of the slack. "Stone Cold" is a modern heartbreak anthem with its emotional tug of war and "Father" could bring a tear to most people's eyes because its a pure spiritual venting session. Overall, 'Confident' has it's good moments but it sadly has some lackluster ones.

K. Michelle Serves Sizzling Sophmore Album
on December 8, 2015
Posted by: SUGAHOOH22
Verified Purchase:Yes
The fabulous, ratchet, truthful and above all TALENTED Ms. K. Michelle, ups the ante on her second album 'Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?' (clever title by the way). She does so, by delivering a better view inside the heart ("God I Get It") and mind ("Build A Man") of a woman, who was misjudged from day one. One thing K always had was dedication to her craft and here, she silences any doubts some may have about her (check out the fiery, retro album opener "Judge Me"). Yes, her "turnt-up" persona is easily found throughout (on the smoky and swingin' "Something About The Night" and straight-forward, bedroom confessional "Hard To Do"). But, who she really is at the end of the day (when the lashes and lipstick come off), is who we get to know and vibe with. Early on she lets us know what this album is focused on...love. K tackles the drama of being a satisfied-single on the excellent lead hit "Love 'Em All", wonders about the love that got away/let go of on "Maybe I Should Call", ponders/laments about a fling on "How Do You Know" and even fantasizes about being the lover to the delectable, sensitive and suave rapper/eternal 'Man Crush Monday-worthy', Drake, on the flattering (and relatable) "Drake Would Love Me". There are also bonus tracks on this Best Buy exclusive version of the album that are found nowhere else: the up-beat and pop-leaning "Silhouettes" and faded freak jam "Get In My Bed". All in all K knew what she was doing when she titled her album, because when you buy it, what you're getting is better insight on what makes her heart beat.

Jhene Incites Us to Soul Out, Not Sell Out.
on October 24, 2015
Posted by: SUGAHOOH22
Verified Purchase:Yes
I'm convinced that Jhene Aiko must come from another planet, because this woman is truly on a whole different musical frequency far, far away. This beautiful new artist brings something unique, fresh and clean, to the current musical landscape that cannot be replaced. Souled Out, Aiko's debut, follows her highly acclaimed Sail Out EP and picks up where it left off. She sets off on that journey with the entrancing and personal "Limbo Limbo Limbo" (which sounds like orbiting through space and then crash landing to Earth towards the end, leaving her stranded) and keeps up the momentum telling the story of a young woman sharing her wisdom about how to make it through anything, be it love, lust or life, all the while with gratitude and a smile, on the album's ABSOLUTE BEST track, "W.A.Y.S." (which is a acronym for "Why Aren't You Smiling?" which carries sentimental purpose to her personally), dealing with a lack of support or sense of acceptance, realizing when to let go, on "The Pressure". Aiko also lays bare how it feels to remain true to YOU, even when caught in love's grip on tracks like: the battle ready "To Love and Die" (featuring and co-penned by James Fauntleroy of The Cocaine 80's), being blunt but classy/subtly thirsty for a crush, on the jazzy "It's Cool" and moving on from a guy who can't RISE with you, on "Lyin' King". As far as debuts go, Jhene reinvents what it means to truly debut as a CONSCIOUS ARTIST...1. Refuse to chase trends, 2. Be yourself, 3. Uplift someone (which she does fabulously on the Common assisted "Pretty Bird (Freestyle)) and 4. Let your inner Hippie out to play! There are two bonus tracks on the deluxe version: the revelatory and autobiographical end of a love story, "Remember" and the GORGEOUS calm that is "Blue Dream". This album is a endless wave of vibing out and wanting something REAL for a change. After all, who would ever want to buy into anything fake, when something as real as this is being offered.

Miguel Breathes Sexuality, Reflection and High Art

WARNING: AFTER ONE LISTEN OF THIS RECORDING, THE LISTENER MAY SURRENDER TO SWOONING, BODY HEAT AND LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MIGUEL! Miguel proves that he is destined for musical greatness even further with Wildheart (Deluxe Edition). After winning critics and fans alike with his experimental and trend-setting sophomore LP Kaleidoscope Dream, Miguel decides to stick to his guns again, but evolve and raise the bar for himself this time around. Wildheart plays like a school of Funk, Soul and Psychadelic Groove. In other words, he delivers everything that made 70's music so EPIC and gives it a modern re-imaging. The album showcases all of his strengths and what makes him a Sure Thing in not just R&B, but MUSIC overall. The album cover alone says it all, and then some, about the ride he plans to take you on (to the planets of Love, Lust, Funk, Art and Freedom of Spirit), if you're brave. Miguel shifts into first gear with the album's hallucinatory and mantra-like opener "a beautiful exit" (that sounds like something made between a studio and outer space), tempts you to want to crawl to him on the delicious and nasty "the valley" and sweat it out over and over again on one of the album's BEST songs, the euphoric "FLESH" (co-formulated by the legendary Raphael Saadiq, who is also responsible for D'Angelo's steamy "How Does It Feel...") . While the freaky space groove keeps things WILD on the album, there's also a lot of HEART here to be felt as well. He steps into his background on the guttural yet empowering "what's normal anyway", gets lost in the endlessness and casual cool of good love on "coffee" and sings to one of his greatest loves, California, on "leaves" (which samples the Smashing Pumpkins' "1979"). There are also four bonus tracks on this deluxe version of the album: the distorted and rough "gfg", seductive and throbbing Spanish-tinged "destinado a morir" (translated to "destined to die" in English), the sweet and addictive "Simple Things" (which appeared on both an episode and official soundtrack to HBO's hit series Girls) and the rocked out "d@#ned". Trust me, this album is a freaky and funky intergalactic joyride that deserves to be taken!
