Good 4k monitor

I use this as a second display with my iMac (27" 2017) and it works very well. Out of the box the two monitors were a good bit different but with some tweaking and using a hardware calibration device they are "acceptably the same". Monitor is clear and has plenty of controls for color etc. The stand is sturdy and it has multiple connections.
You can get better monitors but not without paying a good bit more.

I was actually surprised by the little thing in a good way. It was faster than I expected and using it for general use such as web browsing and light office work it works quite well. It does not have much storage space but is expandable with a SD card. Overall for the price it is a good buy.

For a consumer video product especially a wireless one this is a good one. Video quality is good and range on cameras is as well. Setup is easy and there are adequate mounting options for the cameras. The free cloud storage is a very nice addition. The mics pickup sound well enough. Overall a solid product.
the sound level coming from the cameras is very low. If you intend to actually speak to people over these it will be an issue. The recording tend to run in 15 sec lengths even if you tell it up to 300. I have mine set to 300 (max) and it will record continued motion it just does it is short clips for some reason. You don't miss anything but is a bit of a pain. I think the cameras when you buy them one at a time are priced a little too high.
The delay in notifications is not terrible but should not be your first line of intrusion notification. The delay will be hard to get around because the is a cloud based product. When the camera senses motion it does not go from camera to base station to your phone etc. The trip is much longer than that.
Wish it had HomeKit integration.

I was hesitant to try to move from a mouse to a trackpad but decided to give it a go. After adapting some I love it and will not be going back. MacOS makes use of a lot of multitouch and more with the trackpad than the Magic Mouse. However you still will want BetterTouchTool.
So if you have been considering it get the trackpad and BetterTouchTool and don't look back.
Note that you will still want a mouse around if you do any detail work as it is easier to be accurate when say drawing a mask in Photoshop with a mouse. For general use of the computer the trackpad is great.

I dock it one star because it will not do 4k at 60hz, it will do 30hz but that is not really what you want.

Solid but not large update

It is the same stable, quiet fast enough for most everyone with a beautiful screen iMac. I had a 2016 model still in the return time period so I swapped it for the updated model. My MacBook Pro had the C type connectors so I am glad to have them the same.
As for the updates in the new model yes it is a little faster and in some specific cases a lot faster. The main benefits are the better screen and built in H.265 processing in the processor. Everything is moving to H.265 (HEVC) and having hardware decoding will be more of a benefit in the future.
I dock it one star because if you really load it down with say video encoding it does not have adequate cooling and will end up throttling the CPU during a long encode. I bet this issue is fixed with the new Pro model but that is a huge jump in price to the pro model and I consider it a design flaw that needs to be fixed not an upgrade path.

Works great as a disk player for 4k and BD, loads menus fast and has proper output settings for both simple and high end audio setups. There is some motor and vibration noise at times but at least with mine it is not annoying. The streaming options are limited but that really does not matter to me.

What is quality of screen on this laptop, specifically for Photoshop and Lightroom. I'd like to see if color accuracy of screen is similar to Macbook Pro ? And how hard it is to upgrade RAM from 16GB to 32GB ?
I have both and the Mac is better for sure. For a Windows laptop in this price range it is a good screen but nothing great. Remember some of the cost of this laptop is the Nvidia graphics and two hard drives. It will work for PS etc but it is not as good as other high end screens.

will this work on a VOIP phone system
Depends, If the phone system is already setup and you are just adding this in to get more ports for other things I think it will coexist with the rest of the network fine. If you are starting from scratch you will need to check with the manufacturer of the phone system to see what the phones require. Generally speaking you will want to have the phones on their on VLAN and they are often powered by the switch as well (POE). This is not a programmable switch and is not POE either so my knee jerk response is no not if you don't already have the phone system setup.

Connected TV to a laptop via HDMI, but the image on TV is cropped. Tabs on Chrome browser are not visible when maximized. How do I adjust?
In the settings for picture I think it was in the advanced area you can turn on and off image expansion. I don't think that is what it is called in the menu but just play with them and you will find it.

I NEED SOUND FROM THE FRONT NOT THE SIDE FOR HEARING IMPAIRED, DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ?
Best bet is a sound bar. Yes it's an additional purchase but it will be louder and have better sound when loud. Also it is not tied to the TV so when you get a new TV you can use the sound bar with it.

Yes everyone's battery life will be different depending on how they use the device. Generally you should not have an issue making it through the day if you charge it at night.
