We bought 14 iRobot Creates for use in the International Aerial Robotics Competition. Besides getting two of our robots dead on arrival, we used the batteries for several hours during the 2014 competition at Georgia Tech. They performed poorly (discharging rather rapidly). After 9 months of storage (with one recharge), all but 3 of the batteries would not take a charge. Very disappointed! We are being forced to use AA alkaline batteries in the 2015 competition just to pull it off successfully. Thanks iRobot!!

We use our Roomba inthe carpeted bedroom area of our house, inclyudes 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 walkinn closet. Also 1483 Square foot rec room with tile and carpet.

The machine needs to be emptied and cleaned daily. It is a small job though. The machine is at its best when used daily. It is not really up to a major cleaning job but you will never have that problem if you use it daily. We have had no serious problems. Our machine is getting old and it is time for a new one.

Cons: Not good for occasional heavy cleaning., Requires frequent emptying/cleaning

Great iRobot products

Although some complaints are likely legit, I believe complaining owners don't use their Roombas to good advantage. These are great tools. Not magic. Just tools that need to be used and treated as such, with no magical expectations. I now have several, and use them throughout the house every day. One is in the kitchen, running once or twice a day while I do dishes. Another starts at 6pm to clean upstairs. Others I run here and there when needed while I dust or do other tasks. If a new battery were needed every six months, that's still a lot less expensive than hiring a maid (which I couldn't afford). If treated properly, I've had no problem with battery life, since most last from two to three years. Those that fail early? Well, you and I are not perfect, either, and could expire at any time.
Pros: Easy To Install, Easy To Use, Extends Functionality, Inconspicuous Design, Increases Performance
