I thought it was just me. I used my Roomba and loved it. The battery died and I replaced it and it ran for less than 1 year. But believe it or not...I'm considering trying it "one more time". I must be crazy!
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Short Life

The batteries have a very limited lifetime, and are of ancient nicad technology. They have to be replaced annually +/- depending on use. Lithium batteries have been around for a decade that would last longer cleaning by 2x pound for pound, literally, and last longer before wearing out. These are inexcusably wasteful because they need constant replacement. The CO2 load for nicad is MANY times the co2 load for lithium, so thanks for that.

I own an early model Rumba and a Dirt Dog. Both have gone through batteries that will not hold a charge in less than a year. I bought two top end replacement batteries and within a year are slowly getting to the point where they won't hold a charge longer than 15 to 20 minutes. I don't think I will purchase any more.
Pros: When brand new it's great
Cons: Short Life

Waste of money. Marginally cleans laminate (or any kind) floor. Horrible battery life. Battery is expensive to replace.

I'm still waiting for someone to come up with a battery that will at least clean one room of low pile carpet not just hardwood floors - sure the battery may last longer but how many people have hardwood floors vs. carpet. No this was not a gift I purchased it for my own home use.

I like this battery for the roomba way better then the NI-CD battery. The only thing I wish they would release a Li battery pack soon.
Pros: Good Power Output
Cons: Heavy

Wasn't to bad in the begining but battery only lasted about 6 months. Way over priced for product and battery since you have to replace it so often. I can't believe these companies can just rip us off like this. I would never buy another one.

I am posting this from another review to help those posting on here. The other review says if you plug the roomba directly into a socket, it will last longer. There's had for 6 years. Otherwise I have the same comments as everyone else.
