I read the review [...]that said to read the instructions and take out the battery to reset it. My manual has this to say about the battery "Caution: do not expose....its battery...there are no user-servicable parts inside". And that's it. I love using the Roomba, as I am very busy. I hate spending almost as much as I paid for it each time I replace the battery. I would love it if there was any information in my owners manual about extending the battery life.
Pros: Easy To Clean, Ergonomic, Good Power Output, Lightweight
Cons: Battery life

MY FIRST BATTERY LASTED ABOUT 3 YRS MY SECOND LASTED ABOUT 15MOS. IFOUND CHEAPER BATTERIES ON THE INTERNET,SO GOOD BY ROBO. MARTY

I'm on my second Roomba Discovery, and haven't used it in over a year because the third battery died prematurely--as had all previous replacement batteries. I miss my Roomba, but every time I come to this site to buy a replacement battery, I'm reminded of how much of a rip-off it is, and I don't buy. So it sits, like a big paperweight. If the batteries weren't so expensive, I probably would have bought whatever needed to keep my Roomba running, but I, too, am keeping my money because the cost is ridiculous. Bummer.

Why does't a company like this care about producing such product with sorry batteries. When you sell a product that everyone seems to like, why wouldn't you have a battery to use with it?

Not sure what's up with all the bad reviews, worked great for me. I use the Roomba about once a week so it is not over used. I dated the last battery replacement and it was 2/8/12, about two and a half years. I do not think this is bad. I do follow direction for battery maintenance, which can be found on the web site.
Pros: Fast Charge, Good Power Output, Long Lasting, Reliable
Cons: Half Price Would Be Nice
